- a power terminal block 40 shown in FIGS. Figures 5 and 6, obviously has as many power terminals as poles of the switch device on which it is to be mounted. It is parallelepipedic with two opposing horizontal faces 41,49 and a vertical front face to access clamping screws 42 of the terminals. For each terminal of the terminal block power 40, there is a vertical aperture 44 through the faces 41,49 and to insert one or more electrical conductors perpendicularly to the axis of the screws 42.
- the width of a terminal block 40 is substantially equal to that of the housing 30.
- each connection strip 39a, 39b is inserted in a corresponding opening 44 when one of the horizontal faces 41, 49 of a terminal block of 40 is pressed against a connection area 34a, 34b of the housing 30.
- each terminal of a power terminal block 40 comprises a screw of clamping 42 cooperating with a clamping cage 43 located in the opening 44 corresponding terminal.
- the screw 42 When tightening the screw 42, the cage 43 is deformed so as to what it comes to grip the drivers present in the opening 44.
- This tightening makes it possible to make an effective electrical connection of the bar of connection with any other conductor previously inserted in the opening 44, and allows in addition to fix the connection terminal block 40 against the housing 30 of the device light switch.
- At least one of the faces 41.49 of the power terminal block 40 has holding members 45. - the cavities 35a, 35b are of complementary shape to the lugs 45.
- the removable power terminal block 40 is advantageously symmetrical by relative to a median vertical plane so that the same terminal block 40 can indifferently be mounted downstream but also upstream of a housing 30 after turnaround.
- the horizontal face 41 has two pins 45 disposed on either side of the median vertical plane.
- the protection and control assembly described in the invention comprises a first electrical switch device such as previously described and a second electrical switch device.
- this second electrical apparatus comprises a casing 10 of generally parallelepipedic shape having a horizontal face upstream 13b, 14b opposite a downstream horizontal face 13a, 14a.
- the width of the housing 10 of the second apparatus is substantially equal to that of the housing 30 of the first apparatus.
- of the upstream connecting conductor strips 19b, respectively downstream 19a come into projecting on the upstream horizontal face, respectively downstream, of the housing 10 along an axis vertical X.
- the downstream horizontal face 13a, 14a consists of at least one horizontal support downstream 13a and a horizontal range of downstream connection 14a staggered from which the downstream connection strips 19a emerge.
- the face horizontal upstream 13b, 14b consists of at least one horizontal support surface upstream 13b and a horizontal range of upstream connection 14b offset from which output the upstream connection strips 19b.
- the downstream support pads 13a and upstream 13b are closer to the rear face of the housing 10 and further apart from each other that the connection pads downstream 14a and upstream 14b.
- Cavities 15a, 15b, similar the cavities 35a, 35b are arranged on a front part of the connection pads downstream 14a and upstream 14b of the housing 10 to accommodate terminal blocking lugs power.
- the housings 30 and 10 are juxtaposed one on the other in a direction parallel to the vertical axis X of the connecting strips so that the downstream bearing surface 33a of the housing 30 of the first electrical appliance is pressed against the upstream support pad 13b of the housing 10 second electrical appliance.
- the vertical dimensions of the protection and order is minimal since the enclosures of both electrical devices are directly juxtaposed without space between them.
- a removable power terminal block 50 Downstream of the assembly, a removable power terminal block 50 is mounted against the downstream connection pad 14a of the second housing 10. The tightening of the screws of this terminal block downstream 50 allows to fix it against the housing 10 and connect electrically downstream connection strips 19a to downstream outer conductors.
- a removable upstream power terminal block 60 is mounted against the upstream connection zone 34b of the first housing 30. The clamping screws of the upstream terminal block 60 makes it possible to fix it against the housing 30 and to connect electrically upstream connection strips 39b to external conductors upstream.
- the 50,60 power terminal blocks are identical to the 40 power terminal block previously described.
- the 40,50,60 power terminal blocks include pins of maintaining 45,55,65 cooperating with complementary shaped cavities 35a, 35b, 15a, 15b housings 30, 10 so as to facilitate guidance, positioning and the maintenance of the terminal blocks against the housings of electrical appliances.
- the difference between the support range and the connection range of a same horizontal face of a housing is designed so that when the two enclosures 30 and 10 are juxtaposed one on the other by their support beach, the space created between the beach of downstream connection 34a of the first housing 30 and the upstream connection zone 14b of the second housing 10 allows to house a common power terminal block 40 removable.
- this common terminal block 40 is identical to the power terminal blocks upstream 60 and downstream 50, thereby reducing the number of different parts required for assembly of the assembly described since all the power terminals 40,50,60 are interchangeable between them.
- the holding lugs 45 of the power terminal block common 40 are associated with the cavities 35a, 35b of the housing 30.
- the common terminal block 40 could also be returned so that the holding pins 45 can be associated with the cavities of the second housing 10 (via a wedge 70).
- Such a protection and control assembly consisting of two electrical appliances therefore has only three power terminals 40,50,60 then Usually, two terminal blocks per device are needed.
- the common power terminal block 40 performs several functions. Once the downstream bars 39a of the first apparatus and the upstream tabs 19b of the second apparatus are inserted into the openings 44 of the common terminal block 40, an action of tightening on the three clamping screws 42 allows a two-wire electrical connection downstream strips 39a of the first device with corresponding upstream strips 19b of the second apparatus. In addition, this clamping action allows fixation mechanics of the two devices together. Thanks to this mechanical fixation, only one device, for example the first device 30, needs to be fixed by its rear face 32 on a support, such as a frame, a profile or a plate, the other device being maintained only by the common terminal block 40. It can then very easily assemble the two devices together before fixing the assembly on the support. In addition, only one support is necessary to mount the assembly.
- the downstream bars 39a of the first device are slightly offset from the upstream bars 19b of the second apparatus in one direction perpendicular to the vertical axis X of the bars.
- the downstream strips 39a of the housing 30 are shifted backwards relative to the bars upstream 19b of the housing 10. It would obviously be possible to consider a shift forward, or even a lateral offset of the downstream bars with respect to the upstream bars.
- the invention also makes it possible to produce a set of protection and order with more than two electrical devices. It is indeed easy to add a third electrical device to the described set while retaining the same Power terminal blocks 40,50,60. If the case of the third electrical appliance is placed downstream of the housing 10, as in the case of a thermal relay for example, it will be juxtaposed with the downstream bearing surface 13a of the housing 10 and the power terminal block 50 will be used terminal block common between the housings of the second and third device. The bars the upstream connection of the third device will then be designed to be slightly offset from the downstream bars of the second apparatus.
- some switchgear may include construction a recess on a front part of the connecting range of their horizontal faces downstream and upstream, before the outputs of the terminal strips.
- the ranges of downstream connection 14a and upstream 14b of the second electrical apparatus comprise such recess located just in front of the terminal strips 19a, 19b.
- this recess can then be closed by the introduction of a wedge 70, respectively 70 ', between the housing 10 and the power terminal block 40, respectively 50, in order to improve the maintenance of the 40,50 power terminal blocks against the housing 10.
- These spacers 70, 70 ' are identical and symmetrical with respect to a vertical plane median.
- They have a parallelepipedal shape with a substantially equal height at the recess and a width substantially equal to the width of the housings of electrical appliances. They thus make it possible to fill said recesses without to increase the overall dimensions of the assembly described in the invention. They comprise a first horizontal face having holding lugs which can cooperate with the cavities 15a, 15b of the housing 10 and a second horizontal face opposite having cavities that can cooperate with the holding pins of the adjacent power terminals.
