Bedingt ist ein derartiger Aufbau dadurch, dass über Magnetsteller passender Größe bei direkter Beaufschlagung des Steuerventiles kaum die erforderlichen Stellkräfte aufgebracht werden können, so dass ein Servosteuerventil zwischengeschaltet wird, das quasi Verstärkerfunktion hat und das mit einem abgestuften Drosselsystem arbeitet, wobei der federbelastete Magnetanker den Abflussdrosselquerschnitt steuert, so dass durch die den Magnetanker auf seine Schließstellung belastende Stellfeder die Kräfte aufgebracht werden müssen, die abhängig vom Steueröldruck und dem Querschnitt der über den Magnetanker gesteuerten Abflussdrossel nötig sind, den Abflussquerschnitt bei Überdeckung durch den Magnetanker zu sperren. Zugleich lassen sich hohe Stellgeschwindigkeiten erreichen.
