FIG. 1 shows a section through an ink chamber 1, which is delimited by the ink roller 2, which rotates in the direction of arrow 3 during operation, a back wall 4 of the ink chamber, and the doctor blades 5, which can be adjusted in a wedge-like manner on the ink roller. The doctor blades are fastened to the rear wall of the ink chamber with special fastening elements 6 and can be adjusted against the inking roller. The sealing element 7 takes over the end sealing of the chamber. Ink chambers of this type are mainly used in flexographic printing. Ink chambers can also be built in a modified form. For example, asymmetrical ink chambers are known.
FIG. 2 shows a plan view of an ink chamber 1, the ink roller 2 being moved away from the ink chamber, so that the view extends into the interior of the doctor chamber.
The two doctor blades 5 and the ink chamber rear wall can thus be seen from the limiting elements already mentioned.
The sealing element 7 is fastened between the barrier plate 11 and the intermediate plate. The intermediate plate is in turn pressed against the sealing element 7 and the ink chamber rear wall 4 by the clamping plate 9. The fastening element 12 is used for this purpose, among other things. In order to keep the ink chamber as tight as possible, in the exemplary embodiment shown (according to FIG. 2) it has a barrier which is made of sheet metal or plastic and is located in front of the seal. By inserting this barrier, the ink, which is swirled by the movement of the inking roller 2, is already braked before it comes into contact with the seal 7.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 2, the seal 7 is installed so that its end face 13, which faces the inside of the ink chamber, is orthogonal to the axis of movement of the roller 2.
The direction of movement of the roller is indicated by the straight arrow 16.
However, the sealing lip 8 of the seal 7 extends at an angle greater than 0 ° with respect to the end face 14. At least the part of the sealing lip between the two edges 18 thus extends at an angle α with respect to the axis of rotation of the roller, which differs from 90 °. In this context, acute angles are preferred.
A seal of this type is also shown in Figures 5 to 7. FIG. 5 shows the side 13 of the seal 7 facing the ink chamber in the installed state. The seal 7 has a recess 16 which improves the elasticity of the sealing lip 8. FIG. 6 shows another view of the seal 7, which discloses the manner in which a part of the sealing lip 8 between the two edges 18 is inclined with respect to the end face 13.
FIG. 7 shows the end face 17 of the seal 7 facing away from the ink chamber.
Figures 3 and 4 show another embodiment of the invention. Figure 3 shows a section through a device according to the invention, which is largely similar to Figure 1. Only the front-side boundary elements of the ink chamber 1 (e.g. barrier plate 11 and seal 7) have not been shown.
FIG. 4 shows, similarly to FIG. 2, a top view of an ink chamber 1, the inking roller 2 having been moved away from the ink chamber, so that the view extends into the interior of the doctor chamber.

This was achieved in this exemplary embodiment by inserting wedge-shaped intermediate pieces 19, 20 between seal 7 and barrier plate 11 or between seal and tension plate 9. The sealing lip 8 of the seal used is identical to the edge of the inner end face 13 of the seal 7 facing the roller 2. Since the entire seal 7 is at an angle other than 90 ° to the axis of rotation D of the roller movement, the sealing lip is in this embodiment over its entire length at an angle β other than 90 °. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, this is only the case for the part of the sealing lip 8 that is located between the two edges 18 of the sealing lip (see FIG. 6).
