Claims (17)
- A straw (1) for the conservation of small quantities of substances, in particular biological substances, said straw comprising a segment of tube (2) provided, inside one end, with a stopper (3) including gel powder (7), wherein said straw stopper includes a thermoplastics material core (4, 43) sheathed with filaments constituting a sheath (5, 53).
- The straw according to claim 1, wherein said filaments of said sheath (5, 53) are synthetic filaments.
- The straw according to claim 2, wherein said synthetic filaments are polyester filaments.
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein said sheath (5) takes the form of a braid.
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein said stopper (3) is a three-part stopper comprising an external part which is not in direct contact with said liquid contained in said straw and an internal part which is in contact with said liquid contained in said straw, said external and internal parts having between them an intermediate part consisting of gel powder.
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein said stopper (3) is a one-piece stopper.
- The straw according to claim 5, wherein said three-part stopper (3) comprises an external part (31) comprising a thermoplastics material core (41) sheathed by filaments constituting a sheath (51), an internal part (33) comprising a thermoplastics material core (43) sheathed with filaments constituting a sheath (53), and an intermediate part (32) consisting of gel powder (7).
- The straw according to claim 5, wherein said three-part stopper (3) comprises an external part (31) comprising a fibrous substance plug, an internal part (33) comprising a thermoplastics material core (43) sheathed with filaments constituting a sheath (53), and an intermediate part (32) consisting of gel powder (7).
- The straw according to claim 5, wherein said three-part stopper (3) comprises an external part (31) comprising a fibrous substance plug, an internal part (33) comprising a thermoplastics material core (43) sheathed with filaments constituting a sheath (53), said core including a bore (8), and an intermediate part (32) consisting of gel powder (7).
- The straw according to claim 5, wherein said three-part stopper (3) comprises an external part (31) comprising a fibrous substance plug, an internal part (33) comprising a thermoplastics material core (43) sheathed with filaments constituting a sheath (53), said core including a central braid (63), and an intermediate part consisting of gel powder (7).
- The straw according to claim 6, wherein said one-piece stopper comprises a thermoplastics material core (4) sheathed with filaments constituting a sheath (5) impregnated with a gel powder (7).
- The straw according to claim 6, wherein said one-piece stopper comprises a thermoplastics material core (4) sheathed with filaments constituting a sheath (5) and including a central braid (6) impregnated with gel powder (7).
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein said filaments of said sheath are white.
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein said filaments of said sheath are colored, constituting a color-coded indicator of the contents of said straw.
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein said core is colored, constituting a color-coded indicator of the contents of said straw.
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 12, wherein said gel powder is colored, constituting a color-coded indicator of the contents of said straw.
- The straw according to any one of claims 1 to 16, wherein said gel powder is selected from alginates and polyvinyl alcohol.
