Definitions
- the invention relates to a piston pump according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a piston pump is known from FR 2 157 546 A.
- a variable valve control for reciprocating internal combustion engines is known from EP 1 046 793.
- the lubricant flow generated by the existing lubricant pump is used to actuate a located at the end of the camshaft between the drive wheel and camshaft adjustment, which in turn causes a phase shift of the camshaft.
- the said adjusting devices are usually supplied by bores in the camshaft, wherein the control of the lubricant flow is generally carried out by solenoid valves.
- This known device has the disadvantage that at low speeds of the reciprocating internal combustion engine, the lubricant quantity is indeed sufficient, but the lubricant pressure is usually too low to operate the adjustment or the operation is too slow.
- This known disadvantage has been compensated by the fact that a lubricant pump with increased delivery capacity is installed. However, this leads to very high power consumption of the pump at higher speeds of the reciprocating internal combustion engine, which is undesirable because it reduces the efficiency.
- two-stage or variable pumps are used which provide sufficient lubricant pressure at low speeds but not so high power consumption at high speeds. However, these pumps are very expensive.
- Another pump is known from EP 0 976 926. It serves to a liquid medium z. B. to promote fuel and / or to increase the pressure.
- a cam directly or by means of push rod drives a piston which can move up and down in a cylindrical bore.
- the fluid flows through the outlet channel, while at the same time passes through a check valve liquid on the second side of the piston.
- the cylinder head of a reciprocating internal combustion engine includes at least one camshaft provided with a known camshaft adjusting device.
- the cylinder head contains a housing in which housed the items of the booster pump are.
- This housing can be an integral part of the cylinder head or mounted as a separate part suitable.
- a transfer piston which is driven in a known manner directly or by means of plunger of an existing cam of the engine valve control or advantageously by an additional located on the camshaft cam.
- the transfer piston is designed as a hollow part with a transverse to the cam end fluid drain and pressure equalization hole. The transfer piston is closed on the cam side and bears against the camshaft, while the opposite end is open.
- the open end of the transfer piston is closed by the pressure control piston, which in turn is pressed by the pressure control piston spring against an inserted into a groove in the transfer piston circlip.
- Other components of the pump are also a compression spring, the transfer piston in a known manner non-positively on the cam and one to two check valves.
- the non-return valve held in an advantageous embodiment of the compression spring opens during the suction stroke to the inlet channel integrated into the housing while the laterally attached second check valve releases liquid into the pressure channel upon reaching the desired delivery pressure.
- FIG. 1 shows a vertical section of a piston pump 1 according to the invention. It can be seen that the piston pump 1 is mounted in a housing 3, which in turn is connected to the cylinder head 2 of a reciprocating internal combustion engine. Also shown is a camshaft 4, which is mounted in the cylinder head 3 in a known manner.
- the housing 3 includes a fluid inlet channel 5, which is lubricated in a known manner during operation of a reciprocating internal combustion engine, a fluid drain channel or delivery channel 6 and a bore 7, which receives the components of the booster pump or a sleeve 17 (including the booster pump, shown here) ,
- a transfer piston 8 is mounted displaceably, wherein in the transfer piston 8 a likewise displaceably mounted pressure control piston 9 and a pressure control spring 10, both held by a locking ring 11, are arranged.
- the transfer piston 8 in turn, is pressed by a second pressure spring 13 against the cam of the camshaft 4 via a disk 12, so that a permanent frictional contact between transfer piston and cam is ensured.
- the spring strength of the compression spring should be as low as possible in order to keep the required drive power for the pump low.
- the compression spring 13 additionally holds a check valve 14 in position.
- the transfer piston 8 (containing the pressure control spring 10 and the Pressure control piston 9 secured by the locking ring 11), the disc 12, the compression spring 13 and the inlet check valve 14 mounted in a sleeve 17 and secured by a second locking ring 18, wherein the sleeve 17 is opened on the camshaft side for receiving the transfer piston 8 and on the lubricant inlet side has a sufficiently large bore for filling the pump through the inlet check valve 14.
- the existing lubricant pump delivers lubricant into the inlet channel 5 of the booster pump.
- the check valve 14 Through the check valve 14, the lubricant passes into the displacement chamber 16 formed by the space between the transfer piston 8, bore 7, the inlet check valve 14 and the outlet check valve 15. Now rotates the camshaft 4 from the position shown in Fig. 1 by 90 ° in the by the arrow marked direction of rotation of the transfer piston 8 in the bore 7 and the sleeve 17 is pressed in the direction of the inlet channel 5.
- the inlet check valve 14 closes the inlet check valve 14.
- the outlet pressure should not exceed a certain desired value. This value is determined by the stiffness of the pressure control spring and the area of the pressure control piston. Now, if the desired output pressure is reached during the cam lift, the pressure control spring is compressed and a further pressure increase does not take place.
- the pump promotes approximately no fluid.
- the pressure control piston remains in one position and the camshaft performs work only against the pressure control spring.
- an additional overpressure valve may be provided either in the inlet channel 5 or in the delivery channel 6.
- the invention thus shows a device for increasing the pressure in fluids, which can be introduced at low cost of materials and extremely low installation costs in almost all common housing of the above type, there to increase the pressure supply of the camshaft adjusting device as needed.
