Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Erzeugung von Lichtsignalen, insbesondere eine Verkehrsampel. Die erfindungsgemäße Vorrrichtung enthält ein Gehäuse mit mindestens einer Öffnung, die durch eine Platte geschlossen wird, deren Absorption elektrisch gesteuert werden kann, wobei sich im Inneren des Gehäuses hinter der Öffnung ein Diffusorelement befindet, das durch die Platte einfallendes Licht reflektiert. Bevorzugte Schaltzustände der Platte sind entweder schwarz (Absorption über den gesamten spektralen Bereich des sichtbaren Lichtes) und farbig transparent (geringe Absorption in bestimmten spektralen Bereichen) oder transparent (keine Absorption über den gesamten spektralen Bereich des sichtbaren Lichtes). Mit der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung werden die Lichtsignale dadurch erzeugt, dass das Umgebungslicht auf die Platte trifft und je nach Schaltzustand ganz, teilweise oder gar nicht von der Platte absorbiert wird. Der durch die Platte transmittierte Lichtanteil wird durch die hinter der Platte befindliche Diffusorplatte reflektiert und ein zweites Mal durch die Platte transmittiert und kann dann von aussen wahrgenommen werden.The present invention relates to a device for generating light signals, in particular a traffic light.
