Definitions
- SCCP subse.g. SCCP (relay) nodes with Global Title Translation (SRP, see ITU-T recommendation Q.711-Q.716) in signaling network no.7 want to protect themselves from unauthorized use, i.e. the use of the SRP is only permitted on the basis of certain agreements. On the other hand, these operators want to charge fees for using the SRP. Protection against unauthorized use and charging should complement each other.
- the recommendations Q.752 and Q.751.4 define measurements and the associated object model for charging SCCP or SRP traffic. It is based on a cascading principle in which the sender (operator of the neighboring SCCP node) of the SCCP message pays fees to the operator of the SRP.
- the neighboring sender is identified on the basis of the origin address (OPC) of the MTP message containing the SCCP message, wherein if several neighboring SCCP nodes are operated by the same operator, a group of OPC can be combined into one account and the traffic originating from them does not have to be differentiated.
- OPC origin address
- the operator of the SRP may incur fees itself by forwarding messages, for example to other SRPs.
- GT global title
- the cited recommendations assume that these GT groups are identical for all neighboring operators, i.e. each account has the same sub-accounts. Of course, this does not exclude that special sub-accounts from different accounts are billed differently in post-processing. For example, the traffic recorded in a certain sub-account could be free of charge for a neighboring operator, while another would have to pay fees for the traffic recorded in the same sub-account. Although this restriction to identical sub-accounts is practical and desirable from the point of view of efficient implementation, it is not absolutely necessary and is also not of importance for the present invention. For completeness, it should also be mentioned that the recommendations cited also define measurements for the verification of (payable) fees. However, this is not important for the present invention.
- SCCP screening There are no international standards for protecting the unauthorized use of an SRP by SCCP traffic (SCCP screening). Telcordia (formerly Bellcore) defines in the guideline GR-82-CORE SCCP screening functions, which however does not take into account the GT contained in the destination address. In addition, SCCP screening functions are required by various network operators, but there are no uniform standards and no products are known that solve the problem in the manner suggested below.
- the invention is based on the knowledge that SCCP traffic that is billed is often to be screened in the same way. According to the invention, this can also be implemented in a simple manner in terms of implementation technology for SCCP accounting and screening.
- the present invention combines SCCP billing with inco ing gateway (OPC) / GT screening in such a way that for each account and therein for each sub-account it is still possible to determine how the traffic to be recorded is to be dealt with.
- Procedures are e.g. count and forward
- the object model contained in Q.751.4 can be extended allomorphically with a few additions.

- Billing has already been implemented, such as in the E SD system from Siemens AG. This also results in only a small additional dynamic in comparison to charging
- Appendix 1 shows a possible extension of Q.751.4.
- Appendix 2 shows an example application in which an operator (e.g. Dl) offers several other network operators (e.g. D2, E +, E2) SRP services.
- Dl should be able to interwork with all other networks, D2 with Dl and E +, E + with Dl and D2, and E2 only with Dl.
- D2 may not send SCCP messages to E +.
- the traffic forwarded should also be billed depending on the destination network.

Schutz vor unbefugter Benutzung und Vergebührung sollen sich also ergänzen.l._ Operators of SCCP (relay) nodes with Global Title Translation (SRP, see ITU-T recommendation Q.711-Q.716) in signaling network no.7 want to protect themselves from unauthorized use, i.e. the use of the SRP is only permitted on the basis of certain agreements. On the other hand, these operators want to charge fees for using the SRP. Protection against unauthorized use and charging should complement each other.
So far, the following methods have been used in the standards:
The recommendations Q.752 and Q.751.4 define measurements and the associated object model for charging SCCP or SRP traffic. It is based on a cascading principle in which the sender (operator of the neighboring SCCP node) of the SCCP message pays fees to the operator of the SRP. The neighboring sender is identified on the basis of the origin address (OPC) of the MTP message containing the SCCP message, wherein if several neighboring SCCP nodes are operated by the same operator, a group of OPC can be combined into one account and the traffic originating from them does not have to be differentiated. On the other hand, the operator of the SRP may incur fees itself by forwarding messages, for example to other SRPs. This fact is taken into account by the fact that the operator of the SRP may charge different fees for different destinations, which are identified by the global title (GT) in the destination address of the transferred SCCP messages. Normally, the possible GTs are divided into GT groups and the traffic sent by a neighboring operator to these GT groups is measured separately, ie there are sub-accounts for each defined account.
The cited recommendations assume that these GT groups are identical for all neighboring operators, i.e. each account has the same sub-accounts. However, this is not important for the present invention.
b)b)
There are no international standards for protecting the unauthorized use of an SRP by SCCP traffic (SCCP screening).
Mögliche3. The invention is based on the knowledge that SCCP traffic that is billed is often to be screened in the same way. According to the invention, this can also be implemented in a simple manner in terms of implementation technology for SCCP accounting and screening. The present invention combines SCCP billing with inco ing gateway (OPC) / GT screening in such a way that for each account and therein for each sub-account it is still possible to determine how the traffic to be recorded is to be dealt with.
