Housing (1), in particular intended to contain a cosmetic product, essentially comprising a base (4), a cover (2), articulation means (10) having a first (12, 14) and a second (22, 34) parts linked for one to the cover and for the other to the base, the first part comprising an axis (14) and the second part a housing (22) in which said axis pivots in a direction of rotation (18), in order to articulate the cover with respect to the base between a closed position in which it comes into contact with the base and a position open in which it is substantially away from the base, said articulation means being concealed inside the case, between the base and the cover, in the closed position of the case, characterized in that : said housing (22) extends in a sliding direction (20) substantially perpendicular to the direction of rotation (18) to further allow translation between the first part and the second part of the articulation means in said sliding direction , and the device further comprises means for combining the rotation and the translation of the first part of the articulation means with respect to the second part of the articulation means.
