- This invention concerns, in general, seating structures like office chairs and armchairs, car seats, or any others requiring regulation and, in particular, concerns a device for choosing and stabilising the user positions of such chairs and/or their parts.
- Such a device allows a gradual regulation, that is, not in steps, of the angle between the two elements connected by a joint, such as the seat and back of a chair, thanks to the use, as a positioning element, of a smooth shaft and, as a blocking element, of a plate that acts upon said shaft.
- These devices generally comprise a sliding rod and at least a pair of gripping or frictional elements designed to oscillate between an unlocked position wherein are disposed substantially perpendicular to the rod to permit the free movement of the same, and a sloped locked position wherein are in frictional engagement with the rod for preventing any movement of the same, at least in one direction.

- This runner 24 is situated in a position between the pin 18 of the rod 15 and the plates 16,17, and can move from a backward blocking position, near said pin, to a forward non-blocking position, near said plate.
- the command lever 23 passes, from the outside, through a hole 25 made in one side of the fixed body 11, extending through a ring hole 26 set in a dividing wall 27 fixed to said body 11 and with its end using the runner 24.

Claims (4)
- Chaise ou structure de siège telle que celle des chaises de bureau, fauteuils, sièges d'autocar et dispositifs similaires, comprenant:un corps immobile (11) fixé à un montant de support et portant le siège,un support oscillant (12) articulé sur le corps fixe, portant le dossier et les moyens élastiques destinés à relier le corps fixe et le support oscillant tout en étant en mesure de s'opposer aux oscillations de ce dernier,un mécanisme (10) destiné à bloquer le balancement du support oscillant portant le dossier, et ce dans n'importe quelle position par rapport au corps fixe portant le siège,une tige cylindrique (15) reliée au support oscillant (12), s'étendant vers l'avant au-dessous du corps fixe (11) et coulissant à travers un bloc directeur (20),deux plaques de serrage (16, 17) positionnées obliquement par rapport à la tige cylindrique (15), dont chacune a un pied pivotant sur le corps fixe et dispose d'un orifice pour permettre à la tige de passer, et dans laquelle:les plaques (16, 17) peuvent se déplacer à partir d'une position orthogonale d'absence de blocage, où elles sont perpendiculaires à la tige cylindrique et où l'axe de leurs croisillons coïncide avec l'axe de la tige afin de permettre à celle-ci de coulisser, et à partir d'une position de blocage inclinée, où le bord des croisillons entre en interaction avec la surface extérieure de la tige en la bloquant axialement;les plaques, lorsqu'elles sont en position de blocage inclinée, sont positionnées en selon un angle formant des directions opposées, de telle sorte qu'une plaque puisse agir pour bloquer la tige dans un sens tandis que l'autre plaque fait la même chose en sens contraire;entre la tige cylindrique (15) et les plaques de serrage (16, 17), se trouvent des moyens destinés à maintenir les plaques, en temps normal, en position de blocage inclinée et à faire bouger ces plaques, sur commande, pour les mettre en position orthogonale d'absence de blocage;les plaques (16, 17) sont maintenues, en temps normal, en position de blocage inclinée par un ressort (30) situé entre lesdites plaques et monté sur un petit axe directeur (31) fixé à l'une des plaques et coulissant par rapport à l'autre,les moyens destinés à mettre les plaques (16, 17) en position orthogonale d'absence de blocage comprennent un coulisseau (24) qui peut se déplacer par rapport à la tige cylindrique (15) en allant d'une position postérieure située près de la charnière de la tige cylindrique jusqu'à une position antérieure située près des plaques, un ressort (32) monté dans le coulisseau, dans le prolongement d'un poussoir (33) qui s'avance à travers les plaques pour atteindre un levier (34) qu'il fait pivoter horizontalement, ce dernier ayant son point d'appui sur le bloc directeur de la tige cylindrique et s'appuyant contre une plaque adjacente au bloc précité, de façon à ce que le mouvement du coulisseau, depuis sa position postérieure jusqu'à sa position antérieure, corresponde en premier lieu au mouvement de l'une des plaques et, en second lieu, au mouvement de l'autre plaque lorsqu'elle se met en position d'absence de blocage.
- Mécanisme selon la revendication 1, dans lequel la tige cylindrique (15) est reliée au support oscillant (12) grâce à une cheville d'entraínement (18), en passant à travers des orifices annulaires (19) situés dans le corps fixe.
- Mécanisme selon les revendications 1 ou 2, dans lequel le coulisseau (24) est relié à un levier de commande (23) en mesure d'effectuer des mouvements axiaux en se rapprochant ou en s'éloignant dudit coulisseau, ainsi que des mouvements angulaires sur son propre point d'appui ; ce levier étant en outre capable de pivoter de manière à permettre de contrôler les moyens de réglage de la hauteur du montant supportant la chaise.
- Mécanisme selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, dans lequel la tige cylindrique (15) peut posséder une surface lisse ou rugueuse.
