    a first condition, the closing condition of the lock, when the control lever is in the first pivoting location (28), which condition permits authorisation of access to the vehicle both via the internal handle (24) and also via the external handle (25),
    a second condition, the bolting condition of the lock, when the control lever is in the second pivoting location (28'), which condition withdraws authorisation of access only from the external handle (25),
    and a third condition, the security condition of the lock, when the control lever is in the third pivoting location (28''), which condition withdraws authorisation of access from both the external handle (25) and also the internal handle (24),
    the control lever (28) being connected to a releasing lever (35) which transfers (55) the pawl (30) into its liberating position with respect to the rotary latch (20) when a handle (24 to 26) which is authorised for access is actuated.
  2. Lock according to claim 1, characterised in that two actuating levers (45, 46), namely an internal actuating lever (45) connected to the internal handle (24) and an external actuating lever (46) connected to the external handle (25), are disposed beside the releasing lever (35),
    and an entrainment means (44) is guided (38, 69) on the releasing lever (35) and is connected to the control lever (28),
    that the control lever, in its three pivoting locations (28, 28', 28''), brings the entrainment means (44) into three positions
    in which the entrainment means (44) is aligned with both, or with one, or with none of the two actuating levers (45, 46), in a manner corresponding to the three conditions of the lock,
    and that, in the event of alignment, the entrainment means (44) receives the working movement of the particular actuating lever (45 or 46) and transmits it to the releasing lever (35) which then swivels the pawl (30) into its liberating position.
  3. Lock according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the releasing lever (35) has a gate-type guide (38, 69) for one end (44) of a connecting member (42) which is the entrainment means for both actuating levers (45, 46),
    and that the other end of the connecting member (42) is articulated (43) on the control lever (28).
  4. Lock according to one or more of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that both the actuating levers (45, 46) and, optionally, the releasing lever (35) too, are seated on the same bearing pin (47).
  5. Lock according to claim 4, characterised in that the bearing pin (47) is coaxial with the spindle (34) of the pawl (30).
  6. Lock according to one or more of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the mechanical device (18) is disposed on one side (17) of a multifunctional component-carrier (11), and the latch (20) and also the pawl (30) are disposed on the other side (16) of the said component-carrier,
    and that the releasing lever (35) engages, with a bent releasing finger (36), through an opening (54) in the component-carrier (11),
    and that the releasing finger (36) engages behind a nose (39) provided on the pawl (30).
  7. Lock according to claim 6, characterised in that the motor-operated apparatus (14) for liberating the pawl (30) is also disposed on that side (16) of the component-carrier (11) which has the rotary latch (20) and the said pawl (30),
    the motor-operated apparatus (14) also transferring the pawl (30) into a stand-by position again, from which the pawl (30) again passes, when the door is closed, into its arresting position which holds the rotary latch (20) fast.
  8. Lock according to one or more of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the locking means (70), such as a lock cylinder which can be actuated by a key, which locking means can be actuated from the outside of the door, acts on the pivoting spindle (27) of the control lever (28) and swivels (58) the said control lever,
    and that the control lever (28) is connected, at one of its ends, to the security handle (26) located in the interior of the vehicle, and can be inhibited, according to the circumstances, with its other end (29).
  9. Lock according to one or more of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that a rotary stop (56) can be selectively set, via an adjusting apparatus (60), so as to be operative and inoperative,
    and that the operative rotary stop (56) projects into the path of movement (58) of the control lever (28), as a result of which swivelling of the lever between certain pivoting locations (28', 28'') is inhibited,
    and that, when the rotary stop (56) is inoperative, the pivoting movement (58) of the control lever is liberated.
  10. Lock according to claim 9, characterised in that the control lever is prevented by the rotary stop (56), when the latter is set so as to be operative, from passing out of its second pivoting location (28') which determines the bolting condition, and into its third location (28'') which corresponds to the security condition of the lock.
  11. Lock according to claim 10, characterised in that the control lever can be moved back (68) out of its third location (28'') and into the second location (28') again, even when the rotary stop (56) is set so as to be operative.
  12. Lock according to one or more of claims 9 to 11, characterised in that the rotary stop (56) is force-loaded in the direction of its block position in the path of movement (58) of the control lever, and that the adjusting apparatus (70) moves the rotary stop (56) into its inoperative location, against the force-loading (59).
  13. Lock according to one or more of claims 9 to 12, characterised in that the adjusting apparatus is an electromagnet (60) with an armature member (61), and the rotary stop (56) is seated on the armature member (61) of the said electromagnet (60).
  14. Lock according to claim 13, characterised in that the electromagnet (60) is integrated into the component-carrier (11).
  15. Lock according to claim 14, characterised in that the component-carrier (11) consists of plastic material (64) and the coil former (62) of the electromagnet is seated in wall parts (65) of the carrier (11) which are formed from the plastic material (64).
