Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Kühlen von walzwarmem Walzgut, wobei zur bevorzugt beidseitigen Kühlung von Warmbreitband zwischen jeweils zwei beabstandeten Gerüsten (8,9) ein Wärmeaustausch zwischen Walzgut (10) und Kühlmedium mit Hilfe einer Druckwasserströmung (14) durch eine Folge eines Druck-(21) und Konvektionsraumes (22) vorgenommen und das Walzgut (10) durch gezieltes Steuern der Intensität der Zwangskonvektion gekühlt wird. Die Zwischengerüst-Kühlung (20) wird kombiniert mit einer zusätzlichen Walzenkühlung (19) im Bereich des auslaufseitigen Walzspaltes (11) unter Verwendung einer gerichteten Druckwasserströmung (25) entlang eines Umfangbereiches des Walzenballens (2) jeder Arbeitswalze (3), wobei die Zwischengerüst-Kühlung (20) und die Walzenkühlung (19) jeweils mit berührungslosen Abdichtungen bezüglich der Walzgutoberfläche bzw. des Walzenballens (21) arbeiten.
