Description

The present invention relates to a protective helmet, and more particularly its device for attaching the respiratory mask.

Protective helmets have been used for a very long time current in different fields either professionally as is the case for soldiers, gendarmes or firefighters, either civil or private.

We know, for example, the helmet disclosed by the patent European 0 105 813 which shows a helmet usable with a mask respiratory of the type according to which the latter is retained in the shell of the helmet by two lateral arms comprising at their ends hooks intended for removably engaged with two hooking notches made on the side walls of the helmet. This type of arrangement is particularly practical and now used by many firefighters. However, despite the telescopic effect of the side arms, intended to give in the mask pressure on the face both safe and comfortable, it happens that in some cases the automatic adaptation is not correct.

European patent EP-A-0 336 834 discloses a device for restraint of a respiratory mask, consisting of attachment pieces fixed, on each of the side walls of the helmet, so as to be able to adjust the position. However the position adjustment only allows change the vertical position, which obviously does not solve the problem previously posed.

The present invention therefore intends to solve the drawback mentioned previously by allowing to adapt the position of the mask on the one hand, the dimensions of the helmet, and in particular the dimensions of the shell and / or adjustments of the internal elements such as headband and internal cap, and on the other hand, the dimensions of the head and especially the user's face. To this end, the helmet of the invention includes means for adjusting the position of the hooking means of the mask.

Thus, the protective helmet of the invention is of the type comprising attachment means for a respiratory mask, and is characterized in that it comprises position adjustment means attachment means, allowing the positioning thereof in at least two positions.

According to an additional characteristic, the means hooking consist of a hooking notch or a projection fixed attachment to the helmet, while, according to an embodiment preferred, the hooking notch or the hooking projection is integral an attachment piece fixed to the helmet shell in an adjustable manner to be able to change the position.

Add that the protective helmet of the invention includes an outer shell comprising two side walls corresponding to the areas occupied by the user's ears knowing that each of these side walls includes a hanging piece.

Furthermore, the adjustment means can be continuous or discontinuous, to allow either a fine adjustment or a step adjustment in two or more, for example three successive positions.

According to a preferred embodiment, the adjustment means are constituted by a succession of projections integral with the cooperating shell with a succession of hollow profiles made in the room hooking or vice versa, while locking means are designed to lock the attachment piece in the chosen position, once it is determined.

According to another embodiment, at least one of the parts is attached to the helmet shell by means of a intermediate piece and, according to a preferred embodiment, this intermediate piece consists of an open bracket, which is forward to be fixed to the outside of the hull.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge of the description which will follow with regard to the appended drawings which are not given only by way of nonlimiting examples.

The protective helmet (1) equipped with the attachment device respiratory mask according to the invention can be of any type, such as example of the type used by firefighters and which includes a main external shell (2) protecting the box cranial and the neck of the user and having a facial opening front (3) in the area occupied by the actual face of the latter, said helmet having a vertical longitudinal plane (P) of general symmetry.

The shell is made of rigid material and can be of any material suitable such as plastic, steel, aluminum or material composite of the type comprising a stack of layers of fiber reinforcement, impregnated and linked together by a resin matrix. said outer shell consists of a substantially spherical wall comprising a plurality of wall portions, namely, a front portion upper wall (4), extended rearwards by a rear portion upper wall (5), itself extended downwards by a portion lower rear wall (6) and further includes two portions side wall, a straight side wall portion (7a) and a portion left side of wall (7b). The upper front portion (4) corresponds to the area occupied by the user's forehead and is limited by the border upper (8) of the facial opening (3) which, in turn, is limited laterally by two lateral edges (9). The upper rear portion wall (5) corresponds to the area occupied by the cranium the user, while the lower rear wall portion (6) corresponds to the area occupied by the user's neck. Let's add to that the hull wall is bounded down by a border lower (10). The lateral wall portions (7a, 7b) correspond to the areas occupied by the user's ears and are limited towards the front by the corresponding lateral border (9) of the facial opening (3) and down through the front ends of the bottom edge (10).

The helmet (1) according to the invention allows its use in combination with a removable breathing mask (11) of the type, for example, which comprises two lateral fixing arms (12a, 12b) of which each of the free ends (13a, 13b) includes a hook attachment (14a, 14b) intended to engage with notches attachment (15a, 15b), formed by recessed housings, arranged on the side walls (7a, 7b) of the shell (2).

Thus, the shell of the helmet comprises on both sides on its two side walls (7a, 7b) for hooking means, such as a notch attachment, constituted by a hollow housing (15a, 15b) produced in a hooking piece (16a, 16b).

According to a characteristic of the invention, each of the parts attachment (16a, 16b) is fixed to the corresponding side wall (7a, 7b) of the helmet so that the position can be adjusted. So, adjustable fixing means are provided for fixing the parts hooking on the hull. These means are means of adjustment continuous for precise positioning of the parts attachment or discontinuous adjustment means allowing position said attachment pieces in different positions successive, like two or more, and, for example, three, like the embodiment shown.

The adjustment means are produced by any means such as, for example example, a projection or a succession of projections (17) cooperating with a succession of corresponding depressions (18). Depending on the mode of execution, the adjustment means for each of the attachment pieces are constituted by an assembly made up of three successive central projections (17a, 17b, 17c) and two lateral pins (19 ', 19 ") produced on the lateral wall (7a, 7b) of the shell, while the attachment part (16a, 16b) comprises a succession of five hollow central profiles (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d, 18th) and two successions (20a, 20b) of three lateral housings (20 ', 20 ", 20"').

The successive central projections (17) of the shell (2) are intended to engage in the central hollow profiles (18) corresponding to the attachment piece while the side pins (19 ', 19 ") are engaged in the corresponding lateral housings (20a, 20b).

The successive central projections (17a, 17b, 17c, 17d, 17th) are constituted by successive parallel walls having the general shape triangles, while the side pins (19 ', 19 ") are cylindrical or conical. Similarly, the hollow profiles (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d, 18th) have a shape and dimensions complementary to the projections. In addition, lateral housings are cylindrical or conical to correspond to pawns who receive them.

A, B, C).Thus, the attachment piece (16a, 16b) can take several positions namely, in the embodiment one of the three positions (A, B, C).

The device includes, of course, locking means allowing the locking of the attachment piece (16a, 16b) in the chosen position. By way of example, the locking means are such as illustrated, constituted by a longitudinal movable rod (21) engaged, on the one hand, in a hole (22) made in the projections (17) and, on the other hand, in a corresponding hole (23) made in the axis of the parts attachment (16a, 16b).

The rear position (A) is obtained by engagement of three projections (17a, 17b, 17c) in the three front hollow profiles (18c, 18d, 18th) of the attachment piece.

The front position (C) is obtained by engagement of three projections (17a, 17b, 17c) in the three rear hollow profiles (18a, 18b, 18c) of the attachment piece.

The intermediate position (B) is obtained by engagement of three projections (17a, 17b, 17c) in the three central hollow profiles (18b, 18c, 18d) of the attachment piece.

La ou lesdites pièces d'accrochage (16a, 16b) selon le mode d'exécution des figures 1 à 11c sont fixées à l'extérieur du casque (1) sur la face externe des parois latérales (7a, 7b) de la coque externe principale (2).It will be understood from reading the description that the notch (s) of attachment (15a, 15b) constitute the attachment means for the respiratory mask (11) on the helmet (1). Advantageously, these notches attachment (15a, 15b) are made in the attachment part (16a, 16b) while the latter is advantageously fixed so adjustable to the shell (2) of the helmet (1) so that it can be changed position. Said attachment part (s) (16a, 16b) according to the mode of execution of FIGS. 1 to 11c are fixed to the outside of the helmet (1) on the outer face of the side walls (7a, 7b) of the main outer shell (2).

Of course, it goes without saying that the attachment piece (16a, 16b) could be attached to the inner side of the shell so as to be arranged to inside the helmet and not outside, as is the case with shown in Figures 1 to 11c.

One could also provide any type of locking means for the attachment piece (16a, 16b) other than a rod (21), such as, for example, a screw / nut system or a cam system mounted on a lever.

It also goes without saying that the means of attachment of the mask could be of a completely different type like, for example, the one illustrated in Figure 13, where the hooking notches (15a, 15b) are replaced by hooking projections (150a, 150b), while the hooks (14a, 14b) are replaced by a hanging hole (140a, 140b)

Ainsi, les saillies (17) pourraient être sur la pièce d'accrochage (16a, 16b) tandis que les profils en creux seraient sur la coque, comme cela est illustré à la figure 12.Note that according to the illustrations in Figures 3 to 10 the projections (17) are integral with the shell (2) and in particular with its side walls (7a, 7b), while the corresponding hollow profiles (18) are produced in the attachment part (16a, 16b) but it could be otherwise and especially the reverse. Thus, the projections (17) could be on the part attachment (16a, 16b) while the hollow profiles are on the shell, as shown in Figure 12.

It goes without saying that the projections (17) and the pins (19) could be integral with an intermediate piece (70) as illustrated in FIG. 8a, which would then be fixed on the wall of the hull.

When adjusting the position of the attachment pieces (16a, 16b) these are moved along a path (XX ') inclined towards the down (BA) and forward (AV) to be noticeably aligned side arms of the mask.

Notons que les extrémités avant de la bande (701) comprennent des moyens destinés à retenir de façon réglable les deux pièces d'accrochage (16a, 16b), ces moyens étant, par exemple, identiques à ceux précédemment décrits (22, 19, 21).Figures 14 and 15 are views illustrating a variant according to which the attachment pieces (16a, 16b) are connected to an intermediate piece (700) fixed to the helmet. In this realization, said intermediate piece is constituted by a stirrup open towards the front formed of a strip (701) of flexible, elastic or rigid material fitting the back of the helmet shell (1) to be fixed by everything way. Note that the front ends of the strip (701) include means intended to adjustably hold the two parts attachment (16a, 16b), these means being, for example, identical to those previously described (22, 19, 21).
