Definitions
- the invention relates to a packaging for a product of liquid consistency with pasty, especially for products whose conservation implies not be in contact with the outside air.
- the invention is particularly suitable for high viscosity products such as creams.
- creams For example, we may cite certain products used in the cosmetic field or pharmaceutical, such as gels, toothpastes or care creams, of the type moisturizers, sunscreens or anti-wrinkle creams.
- the invention can also find application in other fields such as the food industry.
- Such packages typically include an outer tube having a dispensing orifice and an internal envelope of flexible material, inside which is arranged the product.
- the product is distributed from the envelope external by means of a pressure exerted on the side walls of the tube outside.
- An air return valve carried by the outer tube allows air intake in the volume between the outer tube and the inner envelope in response to product release to compensate for the loss of volume.
- FIG. 1 to which reference is now made illustrates schematic packaging as described in patent application EP-A-0 548 840.
- This packaging mainly comprises a dispensing head 2 mounted on a shoulder 3. It also includes an outer tube 17 of which the upper end is mounted on the periphery of the shoulder, and a inner casing 14, the upper end of which is also mounted on a inner annular wall of the shoulder 3.
- the dispensing head has a unilateral flow valve allowing the exit of the liquid in response to a pressure exerted on the side walls of the outer tube, but preventing the return of the liquid in the envelope.
- the outer tube has a bottom 19 on which is fitted with an air return valve 21, with one-sided flow for only allow air to enter the volume between the tube exterior and internal envelope in response to product distribution, thus allowing the outer tube to return to its original shape.
- the outer envelope has a rigid or semi-rigid upper part 16 connected to the shoulder 3 and a lower part 15 consisting of a softer material. After a given amount of liquid has been dispensed, the lower part of the inner casing can go back up into the sleeve higher so as to promote complete emptying of the packaging.
- the inversion of the lower part of the internal envelope in the upper part poses a certain number of problems due in particular to dead volumes that exist and that can prevent a complete emptying of the product.
- the lower part can press against head 2 and close the dispensing orifice, which blocks the product release.
- the body is of longitudinal shape, said first and second collars being located on opposite ends of the body.
- a hoop is mounted on the first neck, said hoop forming a seat for the first valve, and comprising an orifice alignment with the first valve and the opening of the first neck, the first valve comprising an annular base mounted in leaktight manner between the edge of the neck and the fret.
- a support can be mounted on the second neck, so that maintain the packaging in an upright position, said support forming a seat for the second valve and having an orifice in alignment with the second valve and the opening of the second neck, the second valve having a base annular sealingly mounted between the edge of the neck and the support.
- the external body and the internal envelope can be produced by coextrusion blowing two physico-chemically incompatible materials.
- the outer body is made of a material such as polyethylene terephatalate, polypropylene, or PVC.

- the internal envelope at a thickness which can vary from 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm, the thickness of the envelope at the opening 70 and the end opposite the opening which may be greater than the thickness of the envelope between these two ends.
- the thickness of the outer body typically varies between 0.3 mm and 1.2 mm.
- the neck 33 defines a flange 54 open in its center and intended to contain the internal envelope 53 inside the tube 31. Furthermore, the external surface of the neck 33 includes a bead 55 intended for mounting by snap of the support 39 on the neck 33.
- the support 39 is of diameter outer substantially equal to the diameter of the tube 31. This support has a bottom substantially flat so as to allow the packaging to be placed in vertical position on a flat surface.
- the background presents in its center a opening 56 around which is disposed an internal skirt 57 whose end interior carries an annular portion 58 complementary to the bead 55 of so as to allow mounting by snap of the support on the neck 33.
- the skirt internal 57 carries an annular element open at its center and intended to form a seat 62 for valve 60 so that it cannot open under pressure from outside to inside, allowing air to enter between the tube 31 and the casing 53 when the tube returns to its initial shape after being tablet to dispense product.
- the valve has a peripheral base 61 mounted so as to be compressed between the seat 62 of the support and the edge of the neck 33, when mounting the support on the neck, in order to seal the volume between the external body and the internal envelope with respect to outside.
- the collar 33 is not necessarily the same height as the height collar 32. In reality, its height must be only sufficient to allow the valve mounting.
- the support 39 and the valve 60 can be produced by bi-injection of a first rigid or semi-rigid material for the support and a second flexible material for the valve, said first and second materials being physico-chemically incompatible.
- first and second materials being physico-chemically incompatible.
- the same materials are used respectively as for hoop 37 and valve 50.
- the packaging according to the invention comprises a cover 65 intended to close the assembly when it is not in use.
- the hood has a side skirt carried by a bottom 67.
- the cover 65 comprises an element 68, carried by the bottom 67 and intended to press the valve when the cover is mounted on the hoop, so as to immobilize the valve in the closed position. This avoids any accidental discharge of the product, in particular during transport.
- the hoop 37 carrying the valve 50 is mounted by snap on the edge of the neck 32, which carries the open end of the inner casing 53.
- the peripheral base 51 of the valve 50 is compressed between the edge of the neck 32 and the hoop 37, thus achieving the seal at the neck 32.
- the support 39 carrying the valve 60 is mounted by snap-fastening on the neck 33.
- the peripheral base 61 of the valve 60 is compressed between the flange 54 and the seat 62, thus achieving tightness at neck level 33.
- FIGS. 4A and 4B illustrate the operation of the packaging according to the invention.
- the user presses (arrows F) on the walls of the external body 31.
- the product valve 50 opens outwards (FIG. 4A) so as to let out the product.
- the valve 50 closes.
- the outer body returns to its original shape. It then creates a depression in the tube / envelope space which causes the valve to open return air 60 inwards in order to let the air pass until the pressure balance is established ( Figure 4B).
- the packaging is new ready for new use.
- the one-piece structure with two collars of the outer body overcomes sealing problems of the devices in which it was necessary to carry out a welding with the periphery of the bottom and / or of the upper shoulder.
- the tightness of the entire system is limited to the tightness at both necks and is ensured by the appropriate mounting of the valves, at each end of the conditioning.
- the packaging device according to the invention is very particularly advantageous in that it allows with a limited number of parts to ensure a good conservation of the product, in all tightness, and this throughout the duration life of the product. Sealing is also simple and economical to achieve, since it is only ensured by mounting the product and air intake. No soldering is necessary. By the way, such a design allows a variety of shapes for the packaging according to the invention, which is a particularly unique feature for devices of this type with two valves.
