A treatment couch including a support table comprising couch surface portions, a vertical support pillar which is formed with a stationary pillar core and a pillar casing which is axially movable thereon, a mounting location provided at the upper end of the pillar casing for the support table, and a height adjusting device which is provided in the support pillar and which has a working cylinder and which for height adjustment engages the pillar casing, wherein the pillar core comprises at least two pillars (3, 4), characterised in that the pillar casing (2) is guided on the pillars (3, 4) by way of guide elements (5, 6) which embrace the respective pillar periphery and which are fixedly connected to the pillar casing (2) and that the arrangement of the two pillars (3, 4) is parallel to the longitudinal axis (8) of the support table (7).
  2. A treatment couch according to claim 1 characterised in that the upper ends of the two pillars (3, 4) are connected together by way of a rigid connecting element (9) which extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the support table (7).
  3. A treatment couch according to claim 2 characterised in that the rigid connecting element (9) has a guide device (10) for a stroke element (11) which engages the pillar casing (2).
  4. A treatment couch according to claim 2 or claim 3 characterised in that the connecting element (9) and the upper pillar ends are connected together by way of wedge-shaped connecting surfaces (14, 15).
  5. A treatment couch according to one of claims 1 to 4 characterised in that the respective guide element (5, 6) has at least two guide bushes (12, 13) which are arranged at different heights and which embrace the respective pillar (3, 4) in sliding positively locking relationship therewith.
  6. A treatment couch according to claim 5 characterised in that the guide bushes (12, 13) associated with the respective pillar (3, 4) are rigidly connected together.
  7. A treatment couch according to one of claims 1 to 6 characterised in that the pillar casing (2) is of a rectangular cross-section.
