Claims (4)

  1. A sound deadening device for use with insulating double glazing (3) comprising a support frame (1) for two parallel panes of glass (4, 5) defining between them an intermediate space (6) containing a layer of air, said space being put into communication with the outside atmosphere via at least one communication opening (13) provided in the frame and in which a filter (16) is mounted to prevent dust or other solid bodies from penetrating into the space, the device being characterized in that it includes a rectangular box (17) mounted inside the intermediate space (6) in register with the communication opening (13), said box being pressed against the frame and covering the opening (13) over the filter (16), and having at least one cutout (22) for evacuating air into the intermediate space (6) and a plurality of partitions (28) defining a baffle path inside the inside volume of the box (17) for the flow of air from the outside to the inside of said intermediate space (6).
  2. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the box (17) is made of a flexible material, in particular an elastomer or any other analogous material having absorbent properties from the acoustic point of view, being made by molding or any other suitable method.
  3. A device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the box (17) has a plurality of transverse partitions (28) disposed as a baffle and extending perpendicularly to the facing parallel faces (26, 27) of the box.
  4. A device according to claim 3, characterized in that the walls of the partitions (28) and the facing faces (26, 27) of the box (17) can have projections in relief, in particular in the form of diamond points.
