Definitions
- the present invention relates to a snowshoe and more particularly an improvement which improves performance and comfort.
- Snowshoes have been known for a long time many years because used for several centuries by Scandinavian people to move on the snow. Until our days, snowshoes were used for utility or military purposes, to allow the populations and the alpine troops to move on the snow for their daily necessities. Currently, snowshoes are used more by athletes who go on hikes and walks, or even competitions. But athletes, although practicing for their pleasure, are more and more demanding for the material they use, and it is true that the products currently sold are not entirely satisfactory, and especially during progression on difficult snow.
- the present invention therefore provides a new racket combining the both good performance in hanging and resting on the ground, while allowing an easy progression as well on the climbs as in the descents, as well as in the crossings.
- the snowshoe consists of a perforated plate formed by a peripheral frame comprising a wall vertical and a sieve supporting the fixing intended to retain the shoe of the user, while the central part is extended forward by a front part and towards the rear by a rear part, and is characterized in that the width between the side edges of the frame and / or the screen has a narrowing in width in the central part with respect to at the front and rear, so that the width "Lc" at the level of the narrowing is less than the width "La" of the front part and the width "Le” of the rear part.
- the width between the side edges of the frame and / or the screen varies gradually from front to back to decrease from the part before and then increase as you get closer to the rear part.
- At least one of the borders sides of the frame and / or screen is concave in the central part occupied by the shoe.
- the two walls lateral sides of the frame have a shape on both sides concave, while in another embodiment the two lateral borders of the sieve have a concave shape on both sides.
- the central part corresponds to the area occupied by the shoe.
- the narrowing maximum in length i.e. where the frame and / or screen is (are) the narrower (s) is advantageously located in the central part occupied by the shoe.
- Figures 1 to 7 illustrate a first given embodiment for example.
- the racket designated under the general reference (1) is presented in the form of an openwork plate of general plane of symmetry (P) fixed under the shoe and which consists of a main frame (2) and a sieve (4), comprising a set of walls supporting the fixing (5) intended to retain the shoe (6) of the user.
- P general plane of symmetry
- said fixing (5) intended to retain the shoe (6) is, according to the illustration given by way of example, articulated relative to the sieve (4) of the racket itself, along an axis transverse (XX ').
- said attachment carrying the general reference (5) consists of an articulated plate (9) comprising shoe retaining means, namely front means (10) and rear means (11). So the front end (12) of the shoe is, for example, retained by a front stirrup (13), while its rear end (14) is, thanks to a rear caliper pivoting (15) comprising a retaining lever (16).
- the plate (9) is advantageously rigid and extends longitudinally, comprising a upper bearing surface (17) for supporting the sole of the shoe.
- the racket of the invention can be equipped with any other type of shoe fastening device such as, for example, that described in the French patent application No. 94 05919 of the applicant.
- the racket (1) comprises an extended central part (20), on the one hand, towards the front (AV) by a slightly raised front part (21) constituting the spatula (7) and, on the other hand, towards the rear (AR) by an area rear (22) constituting the heel (8). Furthermore, the frame (2) is made up by a peripheral wall (3) perpendicular to the general plane horizontal (H) of the screen (4). Add that the central part (20) is laterally bordered on each side by the lateral border, on the one hand frame (2, 3), and secondly, the screen (4).
- the central part (20) of the racket (1) is bordered on the left side (GA) by the side wall left (30a) of the frame (2) and by the left side border (40a) of the sieve, while on the right side (DR) it is bordered by the side wall right (30b) of the frame (2) and by the right side edge (40b) of the screen.
- the central part (20) is limited at the front by the plane transverse front (P1) separating it from the front part (21), while it is limited at the rear by the rear transverse plane (P2).
- the side wall (30a, 30b) of the frame (2) and / or the lateral edge (40a, 40b) of the screen (4) has a concave curvature in the horizontal plane in the central part (20) of the racket, that is to say to have in this central part a width reduced by compared to the width of the front and rear.
- Figures 1 to 7 show a first embodiment according to which it is the peripheral walls (3) of the frame (2) which have a concave profile in the central part to form a narrowing in width (300) at the level of the area occupied by the shoe.
- the width "L" between the two walls lateral (30a, 30b) gradually decreases towards the rear from the front plane (P1) to the middle (P3) corresponding to the most narrow, then gradually increase backwards until rear plane (P2).
- the two side walls (30a, 30b) of the frame have a concave configuration curved along an arc of radius R, the center of the circle being in an area outside the racket (1).
- FIGs 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e illustrate in different successive sections the progressive variation of width "L” between the two side walls (30a, 30b). It can thus be seen that in section A-A, the width "La” is greater than the width "Lb” measured in section B-B, and the width "Lc" in the center according to section C-C is less than the widths "La" and "Lb". Of even, in section E-E, the width "Le” is greater than the width "Ld” measured in section D-D, and the width "Lc" in the center along the section C-C is less than the widths "Le” and "Ld".
- peripheral walls of the frame which serve hooking during progression are near the foot in the area of the foot and gradually move away from the plane (P) forward and towards the rear so that the support on the snow is wide enough in the front and rear part of the racket.
- the two side edges (40a, 40b) of the frame have a concave configuration curved along an arc of radius R, the center of the circle being an area outside the racket (1).
- the figures 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d, 10e illustrate in different successive sections the progressive variation of width "L” between the two lateral edges (40a, 40b). It can thus be seen that in section A-A, the width "La” is greater than the width "Lb” measured in section B-B and that the width "Lc" in the center according to section C-C is less than the widths "La" and "Lb". Similarly, in section E-E, the width "Le” is greater than the width "Ld” measured in section D-D and the width "Lc" in the center according to the C-C cut is less than the widths "Le” and "Ld”.
- Figure 11 is a top view showing another mode of embodiment according to which the curvatures of the side walls are associated (30a, 30b) of the framework of the embodiment of Figures 1 to 7 and the curvatures of lateral edges (40a, 40b) of the sieve.
- Figures 15 and 16 schematically illustrate other modes possible execution.
- the curvatures left and right concaves are asymmetrical with respect to the plane P.
- another way of providing is illustrated. the concave shape of the borders which are produced by segments straight instead of a curved shape.
- the central part (20) of the racket corresponds advantageously to the area occupied by the binding and the shoe the user.
- the maximum narrowing in width that is to say where the frame and / or the sieve is (are) the narrower (s), advantageously found in the central part occupied by the shoe, as is clear from the figures.
