Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective helmet with a connecting device for detachable Attachment of a strapless respirator, as in the preamble of Claim 1 is described.
- connection device has two coupling parts, each in the area of one of the both flank areas of the protective helmet facing the ears of a user and is attached in one of the two side areas of the respirator.
- the helmet-side coupling parts are arranged in a recess in the protective helmet shell.
- the coupling part on the mask side is limited by a swivel axis rotatably arranged on the respirator and has a plug part, which in a connector receiving part of the helmet-side coupling part can be snapped.
- the two Coupling parts are adjustable and lockable relative to each other and by Relative adjustment of the coupling parts to each other are the breathing mask and the Safety helmet can be fixed at different distances from each other.
- the disadvantage here is that by the arrangement of the helmet-side coupling parts in a recess the hard hat shell through the over the inner surface of the hard hat shell protruding components in case of lateral impact stresses to injuries in the face area of the wearer can come.
- DE 40 37 034 A1 describes a combination of a protective helmet with a breathing mask known in which the connection of the protective helmet with the respirator via two detachable coupling parts.
- the helmet-side coupling part is over a pivot axis on the support frame or in the inner helmet of the protective helmet stored that he is between the outer shell of the hard hat and the inner helmet or the support frame.
- the further coupling part of the breathing mask is with a buttonhole-like opening with a large diameter and a narrow elongated Provide attachment.
- the helmet-side coupling part can be from its rest position be pivoted out so that the coupling part of the respirator with the Opening can be hung in the mushroom-shaped bolt.
- the helmet-side coupling part pivoted in the direction of its rest position, around the respirator to approach the face of the fireman and thus an airtight one Reaching the face of the firefighter's face mask.
- the disadvantage here is that the adaptation of the respirator to the face of the Firefighter is unsatisfactory.
- a protective helmet for the detachable attachment of a respirator with a Connection device known - according to DE 26 40 701 C3, in which both locking element the connecting device, which can be releasably engaged with one another, are arranged within the outer boundary of the protective helmet.
- This connection device consists, for example, of a locking bell, which has a holding element a recess of the protective helmet is held in the one on the respirator fastened locking element can snap, with a corresponding adjustment sufficient tension between the respirator and the face of the user and the support of the counterforce can be achieved via the protective helmet.
- Disadvantageous is that the determination or adjustment of the contact pressure and the release the fastening device through the bearing device penetrating the protective helmet the connecting device and accordingly the protective helmet with relative large openings and recesses must be provided.
- Another known protective helmet - according to EP 0 105 813 B1 - has a rigid cap and an inner hood made of supple transverse bands, the side parts of which in symmetrical to the central longitudinal plane of the protective helmet and approximately at the level of the ears points of the user converge, with the protective helmet on the removable Respirator mask adjustable by at least one side mounting arm Length is articulated.
- the helmet's cap is on the outside of each of them Sides at the user's ears with hooking notches or slits for Attach two side mounting arms. These are on both sides the breathing mask connected to it.
- Each of the side mounting arms has two telescopic elements which are connected to one another by resilient elements and are so biased that they try to penetrate each other.
- a with the associated hooking notch of the calotte is a cooperating hook pivotally mounted on the rear telescopic member of the mounting arm.
- On the front telescopic element of the mounting arm and on an extension of the hook are provided through which the two elements in extended position can be temporarily locked.
- unlocking means for this sling means provided by the support of the mounting arms the outer surface of the protective helmet can be triggered when the respirator mask is put on. With such a protective helmet and a breathing mask connected to it could not provide sufficient security for the user in all cases achieved such a combination of protective helmet and respirator will.
- connection devices there are also other connecting devices known from the prior art between protective helmets and breathing masks known - according to DE 33 00 646 C1 -, which are constructed such that actuators on the respirator the prestress or the contact pressure of the respiratory mask on the face of the User can be determined.
- the operation of the connection devices proves to be especially difficult when wearing gloves.
- a protective helmet with a detachably attached to it is already Respiratory protection mask known - according to DE 25 49 979 C3, in which the connecting device is arranged in a recess of the calotte of the protective helmet and in the Hard hat surrounding interior has protruding locking parts that directly engage in corresponding locking elements of the respiratory mask.
- Snap in the connecting device arranged perpendicular to the protective helmet wall adjustable Locking parts or pins in the locking elements on the respirator can from outside the protective helmet as well as the release of the locking. Due to the lack of a tensile connection between the two locking parts the connection device in the protective helmet and the locking elements on the respirator can rotate relative to the helmet if it is twisted or slipped Respirator the two locking elements come out of engagement.
- the present invention is based on the object of a protective helmet with a connecting device for the detachable attachment of a strapless respirator to create, in which the protective helmet-side components of the connecting device do not complicate the use of the protective helmet without a respirator, a good fit, a tight fit of the respirator and a enable easy operation of the connecting device.
- the advantage here is that the articulated arrangement of the coupling elements a good fit and a tight seal between the respirator and the face of the user can be reached because the distance between the Hard hat and face is adjustable in wide ranges.
- helmet-side coupling parts also become decoupling-proof Connection when tightening and pressing the respirator on the Face reached without the coupling parts on the hard hat and on the respirator disengage.
- the safety function of the safety helmet is also when used not adversely affected without a breathing mask and simple operation and more precise anchoring of the respiratory mask when using Hard hat and respirator reached.
- Another advantage is that a structure is possible in which no breakthroughs in the protective helmet are necessary are to hold corresponding device parts.
- a training according to claim 2 is also advantageous since it is achieved in that the safety function if the respirator mask is not used in conjunction with the protective helmet the protective helmet even when used without a respirator is adversely affected and the field of vision of the hard hat wearer from out Helmet protruding or loosely hanging parts are not restricted and also curling is prevented.
- a training according to claims 3 and 4 is also advantageous because due to the fasteners used a tight fit of the face mask on the face of the user with support over the protective helmet is achieved, with relative movements the elasticity and preload of the respirator in the Edge areas relative to the face is used to maintain the sealing finish.
- the protective helmet is characterized in claim 7, because due to the shear-resistant arrangement of the coupling parts, avoiding a coupling part in the respiratory direction of the respirator during the relative movement the coupling parts to fix the respirator on the face of the user is prevented.
- this enables one-hand operation in a particularly advantageous manner when putting on the respirator or is achieved in that the Users of such a combination of protective helmet and respirator with a Hand press the mask and thereby the coupling parts in their desired Relative to the generation of a sufficient contact force can adjust while he has the other hand free to position the safety helmet during the Fix the locking movement of the respiratory mask with the protective helmet.
- the amount of time that a user will have this combination of a hard hat and respirator needed to be ready for use significantly shortened.
- the advantage of the development according to claim 9 lies in the fact that the sealing contact one-hand operation is possible on the face mask and by pressing the face mask onto the face Adjustment and locking of the coupling parts is made possible.
- the fastening forces spread over a larger area which also results in a high tensile strength of the connection is ensured in the different positions.
- the further embodiment according to claim 11 ensures that the coupling part for attaching the respirator while using the protective helmet without a respirator, do not adversely affect the user's visual field can and also prevents jamming.
- a loosening of the respiratory mask can also from the face of the fireman or user from above onto the Respiratory tract acting tensile loads are prevented and in connection with the connection devices arranged in the flank area of the protective helmet a simple five-point support similar to the conventional respirator can be achieved with elastic fastening straps.
- the design of the locking element according to claim 18 enables, if necessary easier operation by the user when wearing gloves.
- Improved mounting and adaptation of the respiratory mask to the face of the User can also be achieved through the training according to claim 19, because the stiffened zones of the respirator mask to exert pressure in Direction of the user's face can be used and accessibility to operate the snap clasp even with a protective helmet and respirator on is better.
- An arrangement according to claim 21 is also advantageous, since it makes it accessible to the clasp can still be improved.
- a breathing mask holder that is completely decoupled from the movements of the helmet on the user's head is surprisingly simple by the further Training according to claim 22 achieved.
- a fireman 1 is shown, the one as personal protective equipment Helmet 2 and a respirator 3 wearing a respirator 4, to which also the bottles 5, in which the breathing air is stored under high pressure, belong.
- the firefighter's personal protective equipment 1 is used to help him to make independent of the ambient air, so that, as in the present embodiment shown fighting a fire with a jet pipe 6 also in a Poison gas-enriched and possibly also oxygen-poor atmosphere possible becomes.
- the tapeless respiratory mask 3 is connected to a via a connecting device 7 Flank area 8 connected in the area of the ears of the fireman 1 and exists from two coupling parts 9 and 10, one of which on the protective helmet 2 and the another is attached to the respirator 3.

- the end portion facing the coupling part 34 has this locking band 25 in a small amount Provide spacing 48 arranged consecutively. These point in the direction the pivot axis 22 'has an obliquely rising flank 49, while that of the protective helmet shell 17 facing locking flank 50 substantially perpendicular to a surface 51 of the locking band 25 is aligned.
- the push button 43 ratchets when the Locking band 25 between this and the base 37 of the coupling part 34 via the sloping flanks 49 upwards and snaps behind the locking flank 50.
- the breathing mask 3 can thus correspond to the respective shape of the face 14 are pressed against the face 14 with sufficient pressure, so that after completion that of the face mask 14 in the direction of the face 14 Pressure to adjust the mask supported by the support frame 18 of the Protective helmet 2 firmly and thus with its sealing edge 13 sealing on the face 14 of the Firefighter 1 is present, because of the snapping of the latch 46 behind one Locking flank 50, the breathing mask 3 in the opposite to the protective helmet 2 Direction cannot move away from this. Does Firefighter 1 do that Feeling that the mask is too loose, he only needs the mask even more press against protective helmet 2 to achieve a sufficiently firm fit.
- bracket 30 ensures that despite the use only one connecting device 7 in the area of each of the two flank areas 8 of the protective helmet 2 due to its support at two fastening points 31 and 32 on the sealing edge 13 of the breathing mask 3 essentially a 4-point support is achieved.
- the respirator mask 3 so arranged on the face 14 of the fireman 1 that the Sealing edge 13 between the face 14 and a helmet band 52 of the support frame 18 comes to rest.
- the setting device 19 can be used Diameter of the support frame 18 are increased so that the sealing edge 13 between the helmet band 52 can be inserted, whereupon the tight fit of the Hard hat 2 the diameter of the support frame 18 with the adjusting device 19th can be tightened again as far as this ensures that the protective helmet 2 is firmly seated on the head of the fireman 1 is necessary.

- the helmet-side coupling part 9, 24 and the coupling part 10, 34 assigned to the respiratory mask 3 attached to the protective helmet 2 or the support frame 18 and the breathing mask 3 in a thrust-resistant manner are essential in this type of connection device.
- the advantage of this shear-resistant attachment is that during the Inserting the coupling part 9 or 24 into the coupling part 10 or 34 also at strong pressure exerted a relative movement between the two coupling parts is secured without the two coupling parts coming out of engagement, since except for setting the distance of the respiratory mask 3 from the protective helmet 2 required relative movement between the two coupling parts no relative movement the same with respect to the protective helmet 2 or the respiratory mask 3 is possible, as is the case for example with known protective helmets, in which the against each other adjustable holding elements of the coupling part in an opening or Deepening of the protective helmet shell 17 or protective helmet 2 for absorbing tensile forces are attached in the direction of the respiratory mask 3, but with compressive forces or Thrust forces acting from the respiratory mask 3 in the direction of the protective helmet 2, can unhook from these recesses or
- this coupling part 24 is designed to be pressure-resistant is to push and ratchet this locking band 25 through the To enable locking clasp 35 with one-hand operation.
- the breathing mask on the locking straps 25 of the two connecting elements can be pressed with one hand towards the face of the user, where necessary alternating in the left and right half of the face the necessary Preload pressure for tightly fitting the respiratory mask 3 on the face of the User is built, which can be used to turn on the second hand to build up the protective helmet 2 in the direction of the breathing mask 3, so that a firm pushing together and thus a secure and tight fit the respirator 3 is reached on the face of the user.
- the coupling parts 24, 34 in particular if one of these coupling parts is designed as a locking band 25, over a certain total length preset so that even with large differences in dimensions of the face a rapid adaptation of the respiratory mask 3 to the face 14 of the User is possible.
- the coupling parts 9, 10 and 24, 34 are locked in their engaged position and only when necessary, i.e. can be solved by a conscious activity of the user.
