Claims (2)

  1. A device for winding strip-shaped rolled stock on to the mandrel (2) of a coiler, in which the first windings are held by means of a toothed chain (6) partially surrounding the windings and guided in endless manner over deflecting wheels, the deflecting wheels (7a-e) being provided with peripheral teeth corresponding to the toothed chain, and at least some of the deflecting wheels being driven, characterised in that
    the toothed chain (6) consists of a loosened combination of fishplates having a plurality of chain units arranged next to one another and spaced apart by spacers (14), which units form a common string, the chain units (10) of which are made smooth on the side facing the strip (5) to be wound on and toothed (13) on the side facing the deflecting wheels.
  2. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that individual fishplates (11) engage in peripheral grooves (20) in the peripherally-toothed deflecting wheels (7a-e) for lateral guidance of the toothed chain.
