Definitions
- the invention relates to a multi-pole cable connector according to the preamble of claim 1, as is already known from the German utility model DE-U-93 08 457.
- This connector is characterized by a space-saving clamp connector principle, a recyclable or releasable and reusable clamp contact as well as a simple connection of cables with individual strands arranged in a defined order and to be assigned to specific plug contacts, in which only one strand has to be fed to the associated strand guide channel of the distributor and when the cable is inserted, all other individual strands are automatically assigned to the corresponding plug contacts.
- a free assignment or the use of the known connector for any configured stranded wire is not possible with this connector.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of a cable connector of the type mentioned at the beginning for connecting any configured stranded cable to create, in which the means for clamping contact as low as possible Have dimensions, as simple and inexpensive as possible as well as being easy to use and permanently safe Ensure contact.
- the outer wall parts which are resiliently formed by the longitudinal slots, are pressed together and the individual strands are thereby clamped in the channels in such a way that when the plug-in part and the grip piece with the inserted distribution piece are subsequently joined together, the contact skewers are completely inserted into the stranded wires can penetrate, whereby a permanently secure contact is achieved.
- the angles of inclination of the interacting conical surfaces can be the same.
- a shorter version with a defined clamping effect when the distribution piece is in contact with a stop can be realized in that the angle of inclination to the axis in the inner contour of the grip piece is greater than that of the outer surface of the clamping area of the distribution piece.
- the inner contour is cylindrical or only partially conical.
- the clamping device constructed according to the invention is not only highly effective and can be adapted in a very simple manner to the respective requirements of the clamping force by appropriate dimensions of the channels and / or the conical surfaces, but in particular also extremely space-saving because neither angling of the channels nor additional clamping means such as screws, springs etc. are required so that the outer dimensions are essentially determined only by the number, diameter and spacing of the channels.
- the cable connector is simple and uncomplicated also particularly inexpensive and easy to install.
- the outer wall parts surrounding the channels are considerably more elastic due to the additional slots provided in the intermediate channel walls, as a result of which the axial insertion force to be applied for a certain radially effective clamping force is substantially lower.
- additional slots for example several slots between the channel and the outer wall
- recesses for example several slots between the channel and the outer wall
- care being taken that the channel walls are still strong are enough for effective radial wire clamping by axially penetrating contact spikes.
- the dimensioning of the channels is already in front the actual clamping through the interacting conical surfaces if the distributor is inserted into the handle, pre-fix the inserted individual strands reached, even with unintentional minor Tensile forces on the cable or on individual strands or not equitable, approximately jerky insertion of the distribution piece in the Grip the contact of the mating end faces on the stops and thus ensures their target position for radial clamping.
- the smallest channel diameter and thus the greatest pre-fixing force here if the through the slots and / or the material of the Given individual elasticity, the individual strands still without additional Measures (such as bending) can be inserted into the channels.
- Minimizing the channel diameter and increasing the pre-fixing force and / or an easier insertion of the strands into the channels is according to Claim 3 achievable in that the channels have insertion funnels. A retreat of the individual strands in the channels from the target position can thus be effectively excluded in practice.
- a further ease of assembly is due to the features of claim 4 achieved because with such a trained cable connector Distribution piece not held in the handle by a special measure must be when it is plugged together with the plug part. Much more holds it in there by itself until after the further assembly step of screwing it together is finally fixed by the handle and plug-in part.
- the outer surfaces of the clamping area of the distributor and the interacting with it Inner surfaces of the mating portion of the handle can be conical.
- the handle is used in an advantageous manner as a handle during the assembly of the Cable connector, for receiving and clamping the distributor, as waterproof cable entry and for mechanical / electrical connection with the plug-in part and is therefore particularly inexpensive.
- the contact carrier To produce the clamp contact, the contact carrier must be connected to the contact elements fixed therein against those held in the distributor Strands are pressed.
- a union nut which is screwed onto an external thread of the distributor also presses it against the contact carrier and both parts releasably attached to each other.
- a snap or snap connection instead of the union nut to use.
- Claim 8 provided a coding device that ensures that it only with correct mutual assignment of contact elements and channels can be screwed together.
- An embodiment of the distribution piece according to claim 10 ensures that even with very thin stranded wires and regardless of the inclination of the Channels in the clamping area with an optimal centric-axial contact the contact elements aligned therewith can be achieved.
- claims 11 and 12 are two alternative advantageous designs of the stop indicated for the individual strands, which are particularly in the manufacture according to claim 10 can be produced at no additional cost and ensure that all strands are inserted into the channels of the distributor take the target position in which the contact skewers are full penetrate into the stranded wires so that the maximum radial clamping force and thus create a permanently functioning contact.
- the four-pole cable connector for connecting a stranded cable 2 with four individual strands 4 encased in a protective sheath 3 consists of a distributor 5 for receiving the strands 4, a cable receptacle 10 composed of a handle 6 and a cable screw connection with a sealing ring 7, spring cage 8 and pressure screw 9 and a plug-in part 16 formed from a contact carrier 11 with contact elements 13 arranged in contact chambers 12, a first union nut 14 for attachment to a mating connector (not shown) and a second union nut 15 for attachment to the distributor 5.
- the handle 6 has an internal thread on a cable-side section 17 to screw in the pressure screw 9 and on a plug-in section 18 an external thread for screwing on the second union nut 15.
- the contact elements 13 each consist of a socket 19 and an integrally formed cable-side contact spike 20, the diameter of which is smaller than that of the stranded wires 35.
- the distributor 5 has a connector 21 on the plug side, with which it is in the fitted cable connector in an adapted recess 22 of the contact carrier 11 is inserted.
- a coding recess 23 is provided on the connecting piece 21, into which a correspondingly designed coding lug of the contact carrier 11 engages when the connector is installed correctly.
- a cable-side end part 24 of the distribution piece 5 is designed as an octagon in cross section, the eight flat lateral surfaces 25 tapering conically towards the free end.
- the shape of the inner contour 26 of the plug-side section 18 of the handle 6 is adapted to the outer contour of the cable-side end part 24 of the distributor 5, the angle of inclination of the conical taper of the inner surfaces being approximately 5 ° and that of the corresponding lateral surfaces 25 approximately 1 ° with respect to the axis.
- the distribution piece 5 is penetrated by four axially parallel channels 27 for receiving the non-stripped strands 4, which are aligned with the contact elements 13 when the cable connector is installed. They have insertion funnels 28 and each end at an annular stop collar 29, the inner diameter of which is smaller than the strand diameter but larger than the diameter of the contact spikes 20.
- the intermediate walls 30 in each case two channels 27 and the opposite outer walls between the channels 27 and the corresponding lateral surfaces 25 have slots 31 and 32, respectively.
- two resilient outer parts 33 are formed, which make the cable-side end part 24 effective as a clamping region 24 for the strands 4 when radial forces are applied.
- An annular collar 34 is provided between the clamping region 24 and the connecting piece 21, the end faces of which, when the cable plug connector is fitted, bear against corresponding end faces of the contact carrier 11 and of the grip piece 6.
- the stranded cable 2 which is passed through the cable screw connection 7, 8, 9 and the handle 6, is first stripped to a length which is somewhat greater than that of the distributor 5. Then the individual non-stripped strands 4 are inserted into the associated channels 27 up to the stop on the stop collars 29 in accordance with the respective connection configuration.
- the diameter of the channels 27 is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the individual strands 4, so that with the aid of the insertion funnel 27 and the resilient outer parts 33, the strands 4 are already slightly clamped in the clamping region 24 of the distributor 5, as a result of which the desired position of the strands is without additional measures are secured and thus further assembly is made considerably easier.
- the distribution piece 5 is pressed into the grip piece 6, the cooperating conical surfaces 25, 26 creating a radial force component which ensures the necessary clamping of the strands 4 in the clamping area 24.
- the cable gland 7, 8, 9 is then mounted in the cable-side section 17 of the handle 6.
- the selected angle of inclination of the conical surfaces 25, 26 are small enough, on the one hand, that self-locking of the assembled parts 5, 6 is ensured in the plastic material used, as a result of which no additional means or measures for maintaining this plug-in state until subsequent securing by the handle 6 screwed plug-in part 16 are required. On the other hand, these angles are chosen so differently that a minimum total length of the nested parts 5, 6 is reached.
- the contact carrier 11 is plugged onto the connector 21 of the distributor 5 so that, for the unmistakably correct assignment of clamping elements 13 and strands 14, an invisible coding lug of the contact carrier 11 engages in the coding recess 23 of the connector 21, and then the union nut 15 on the screwed section 18 of the handle 6.
- the contact skewers 20 penetrate axially into the end regions of the associated stranded wires 35 in such a way that the stranded wires are compressed by radial forces and pressed together with the stranded insulation under high pressure against the inner wall of the channels 27, as a result of which not only a high clamping force but also by cold welding of stranded wires and contact skewers 20 also permanently secure electrical contacting is guaranteed.
- the described, configured for connecting any stranded cable Suitable cable connectors are characterized by minimal Dimensions, especially in the clamping contact area, a simple one and inexpensive construction as well as a quickly and safely feasible Connector assembly with high-quality clamping contact and easy disassembly for recycling purposes.

Description
The invention relates to a multi-pole cable connector according to the preamble of
This connector is characterized by a space-saving clamp connector principle, a recyclable or releasable and reusable clamp contact as well as a simple connection of cables with individual strands arranged in a defined order and to be assigned to specific plug contacts, in which only one strand has to be fed to the associated strand guide channel of the distributor and when the cable is inserted, all other individual strands are automatically assigned to the corresponding plug contacts. A free assignment or the use of the known connector for any configured stranded wire is not possible with this connector.
In addition, in order to generate the strand holding force required to press the contact spikes into the stranded wires, either angling of the strand guide channels or special additional clamping means are required, as a result of which a considerable additional outlay in terms of construction and assembly and an increase in dimensions are required, which do not or only marginally benefit from the space-saving axial contact comes to fruition.
In addition, when using angled channels, it is not always ensured that when the cable gland is installed, the plug ends of the wires are actually at the desired positions (e.g. against splash walls) and that the holding force is large enough to allow the contact spikes to penetrate completely axially and thus permanently To ensure safe contact through cold welding.
The invention is therefore based on the object of a cable connector of the type mentioned at the beginning for connecting any configured stranded cable to create, in which the means for clamping contact as low as possible Have dimensions, as simple and inexpensive as possible as well as being easy to use and permanently safe Ensure contact.
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of
When assembling the cable connector, the individual strands passed through the cable receiving part are inserted into the associated tubular channels of the distribution piece and this is inserted into the plug-in section of the grip piece, for which purpose stranded cables of any configuration can be used. In this process, the ends of the individual strands on the plug side are in contact with the respective stop at the plug-side end of the channels simply by the distribution piece pressed against them in the desired position. Due to the interacting conical surfaces of the distribution and grip piece, the outer wall parts, which are resiliently formed by the longitudinal slots, are pressed together and the individual strands are thereby clamped in the channels in such a way that when the plug-in part and the grip piece with the inserted distribution piece are subsequently joined together, the contact skewers are completely inserted into the stranded wires can penetrate, whereby a permanently secure contact is achieved.
The angles of inclination of the interacting conical surfaces can be the same. A shorter version with a defined clamping effect when the distribution piece is in contact with a stop can be realized in that the angle of inclination to the axis in the inner contour of the grip piece is greater than that of the outer surface of the clamping area of the distribution piece. Of course, solutions are also possible in which, for example, the inner contour is cylindrical or only partially conical.
The clamping device constructed according to the invention is not only highly effective and can be adapted in a very simple manner to the respective requirements of the clamping force by appropriate dimensions of the channels and / or the conical surfaces, but in particular also extremely space-saving because neither angling of the channels nor additional clamping means such as screws, springs etc. are required so that the outer dimensions are essentially determined only by the number, diameter and spacing of the channels.
The cable connector is simple and uncomplicated also particularly inexpensive and easy to install.
Advantageous embodiments of the cable connector according to
Thus, the outer wall parts surrounding the channels, the outer contour of which is tapered, are considerably more elastic due to the additional slots provided in the intermediate channel walls, as a result of which the axial insertion force to be applied for a certain radially effective clamping force is substantially lower. Of course, it is also possible to produce this effect by means of differently extending or additional slots (for example several slots between the channel and the outer wall) or recesses or by choosing an appropriately elastic material for the distribution piece, care being taken that the channel walls are still strong are enough for effective radial wire clamping by axially penetrating contact spikes.
The dimensioning of the channels is already in front the actual clamping through the interacting conical surfaces if the distributor is inserted into the handle, pre-fix the inserted individual strands reached, even with unintentional minor Tensile forces on the cable or on individual strands or not equitable, approximately jerky insertion of the distribution piece in the Grip the contact of the mating end faces on the stops and thus ensures their target position for radial clamping. The smallest channel diameter and thus the greatest pre-fixing force here, if the through the slots and / or the material of the Given individual elasticity, the individual strands still without additional Measures (such as bending) can be inserted into the channels. By this advantageous embodiment is an additional relief Connector assembly reached.
Minimizing the channel diameter and increasing the pre-fixing force
and / or an easier insertion of the strands into the channels is according to
A further ease of assembly is due to the features of claim 4 achieved because with such a trained cable connector Distribution piece not held in the handle by a special measure must be when it is plugged together with the plug part. Much more holds it in there by itself until after the further assembly step of screwing it together is finally fixed by the handle and plug-in part.
festen Gegensteckverbindern ausrichtbar. The outer surfaces of the clamping area of the distributor and the interacting with it
Inner surfaces of the mating portion of the handle
can be conical. Through a multi-surface training according to
In a version of the cable holder according to claim 6, the handle is used in an advantageous manner as a handle during the assembly of the Cable connector, for receiving and clamping the distributor, as waterproof cable entry and for mechanical / electrical connection with the plug-in part and is therefore particularly inexpensive.
To produce the clamp contact, the contact carrier must be connected to the contact elements fixed therein against those held in the distributor Strands are pressed. For this purpose, it is particularly simple, according to claim 7 to provide a union nut which is screwed onto an external thread of the distributor also presses it against the contact carrier and both parts releasably attached to each other. For machine production the mechanical connection of contact carrier and distributor it is advantageous to use a snap or snap connection instead of the union nut to use.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of these two parts is after Claim 8 provided a coding device that ensures that it only with correct mutual assignment of contact elements and channels can be screwed together.
By designing the distributor of the cable connector according to the invention according to claim 9 is both a particularly inexpensive manufacture enables as well as an optimal coordination between the Elasticity of the chosen plastic and the number as well as the dimensions of the slots in order to achieve the desired pre-fixation and clamping effect achieve.
An embodiment of the distribution piece according to
In

To assemble the connector, the stranded

The described, configured for connecting any stranded cable Suitable cable connectors are characterized by minimal Dimensions, especially in the clamping contact area, a simple one and inexpensive construction as well as a quickly and safely feasible Connector assembly with high-quality clamping contact and easy disassembly for recycling purposes.
