Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fixing device comprising a luminaire, a support profile and a blade, or a rod, removable elastic and having two parts linked elastically to each other and each carrying or constituting a hook, one adapted to hang on a hanging element of the luminaire and the other adapted to hang on a hanging element of the bearing profile.
- the invention applies mainly in lighting paths for humid or dusty atmospheres, such as found in refineries, tunnels, heavy industries, slaughterhouses, chemical factories, laundries, food industries, etc., and also when the installation of the devices or their maintenance is limited for various reasons such as: installations working continuously, impossible maintenance on the site itself, dangerous interventions if they are long, etc.
- a device comprising a bearing profile and a plate carrying a fluorescent tube and the related electrical equipment, with an elastic blade, in the shape of an inverted U, provided with hooks arranged to allow the hooking of the edges of the plate, is described in the document DE-A-3 226 838.
- the use of elastic blades previously fixed to the carrier profile has drawbacks, in particular because the assembly is inconvenient. In the case of lighting paths, it is preferable to be able to place leaf springs in selected places on the luminaire at the time of assembly, so as to obtain maximum flexibility of use.
- the invention proposes to achieve this goal, while also allowing the mounting of a luminaire without any tools on a support profile previously fixed for example to the ceiling.
- said elastic blade has a folded section so as to constitute two blade parts located back to back, each of the hooks being carried respectively by each of these blade parts back to back, and the hooking element of the carrier profile is placed substantially opposite the luminaire attachment element when the luminaire and the carrier profile are coupled and the dimensions of the sections of the luminaire and of the bearing profile are such that they then have sufficient clearance to place said folded section between the parts of the luminaire and of the profile carrying the fastening elements, so as to fill said clearance by pushing back to move them apart from one another these parts, while being hooked by each of the hooks vis-à-vis respectively to the attachment element of the luminaire and to the attachment element of the profile.
- the elastic blade or rod
- the elastic blade is advantageously a symmetrical U-shaped piece, which has two folded sections each located in a branch of the U. This makes it possible to fix blades in advance on a luminaire, and to mount the latter in a profile without worrying about an imposed direction of assembly.
- the folded section is preferably folded in a Z-shape, so that blade (or rod) portions extending each of the two blade (or rod) portions located back to back are rotated in opposite directions.
- a blade (or rod) part extending one of the back to back parts is arranged so as to be accessible from the outside of the profile and / or of the luminaire, which makes it possible to act without tools the position of a hook, to disassemble the luminaire from the profile.
- the profile preferably has an A-shaped section thus constituting a closed volume and an open volume separated by a flat wall (corresponding to the bar of A), said flat wall is provided with an orifice, the luminaire in position is placed between the legs of the A in the open volume, it has a sealed body with a flat face opposite the above-mentioned flat wall of the profile, this flat face is provided with an orifice opposite the orifice of the profile wall , a seal is placed around the orifices between the planar wall of the profile and the planar face of the luminaire, and the means of fixing the luminaire to the profile are dimensioned so that when the luminaire is in position the seal is compressed . This ensures a high level seal between the interior of the luminaire and the interior of the profile.
- the profile advantageously carries, inside, an electrical connector to the right of said orifice, and the luminaire a corresponding connector, so that these connectors are connected when the luminaire is in position in the profile. This automatically ensures the electrical connection of the luminaire during its assembly, without in any way complicating the assembly of the luminaire without tools.
- the profile and the luminaire are advantageously provided with guide means for bringing the two connectors opposite when a luminaire is assembled on a profile. This makes it possible to mount a luminaire even more quickly in a profile.
- Figure 1 is a cross section of a luminaire according to the invention, provided with a fluorescent tube, and mounted in the support profile (section along AA in Figure 2).
- Figure 2 is a longitudinal section of part of the same luminaire but without the fluorescent tube and presented in front of a support profile.
- the device represented by FIG. 1 comprises a support profile 1 and a strip for fluorescent tube 5.
- the support profile has an A-shaped section with a flat upper part intended to be applied against a ceiling or wall. Due to the A-shaped section are formed a hollow tube of approximately rectangular section 2, and two wings 3, that is to say a closed volume and an open volume.
- each wing 3 carries a longitudinal relief 19 facing inwards which constitutes a fastening element for a luminaire.
- This profile is made for example of aluminum or extruded plastic, or of pultruded polyester.
- the luminaire consists of a strip 5 carrying a fluorescent tube 6 and containing unrepresented electrical elements (ballast, wiring, etc.) supplying the tube 6.
- the strip 5 carries on each of its walls or lateral faces, either over a part of its length, or in localized positions, a notch or a groove whose upper edge 20 constitutes an element intended for hanging the luminaire.
- An alternative embodiment of this rim is shown at 30: the top of a luminaire 50 is provided with a metal part 31 fulfilling the function of attachment means.
- the relief 19 of the profile and the notch of the strip are arranged in such a way that when the strip is in position in the profile, they are roughly face to face, on each side of the strip.
- An elastic blade has a generally symmetrical shape in an inverted U, with the branches of the U connected to each other by a blade part 10.
- Each branch of U has a section 4 folded so as to constitute two blade parts located back to back and elastically linked to each other.
- This member could also in a variant be produced by means of a folded spring wire.
- Each of the blade parts back to back carries a hook, one 8 adapted to hang on the hooking element 20 of the strip and the other 7 adapted to hang on the hooking element 19 of the profile.
- Each of the folded parts 4 is folded in a Z shape, so that blade parts extending each of the two blade parts located on the back on the back are turned in opposite directions, namely a part 9 turned downwards extending the part carrying the hook 7 and a curved part 21 turned upwards extending the part carrying the hook 8 and which is connected to part 10.
- the elastic blade in question is placed so that the U embraces the body 5 of the strip, the hooks 8 hold the blade attached to the strip and the latter can be manipulated without the blade or blades coming loose.
- this blade is removable and can be delivered or packaged separately from the strip.
- the blade parts 9 contribute to enclosing the body 5 of the strip or of the luminaire. To disassemble a strip, it suffices to tighten with two fingers, bringing them closer to each other, the blade parts 9, which are arranged so as to be accessible from the outside of the profile, which unhooks the hooks 7 of the longitudinal reliefs 19.
- Profile 1 is provided with an orifice 13, visible in FIG. 2, of the smallest possible dimensions, in the flat wall 24 corresponding to the bar of A.
- This orifice is surrounded by an elastic gasket 12 mounted on a mechanical support 22, which keeps it in position, horizontally and vertically.
- the closed volume 2, which can be sealed, is used for the passage of cables 11 and for electrical connections.
- the strip has a body of substantially rectangular section with a flat face at the top, facing the flat wall 24.
- the upper flat face of the strip is provided with an orifice 16 facing the orifice of the profile, and the dimensions vertical, especially the height difference between the projection 20 and the upper plane of the strip, are such that said flat face is applied, when the strip is in place, against the seal 12, by tightening it.
- the profile 1 carries, inside, an electrical connector 14 to the right of said orifice 13, and the luminaire a corresponding connector 15, so that these connectors are brought into contact when the luminaire is pushed upwards into position in the profile.
- the connector 14 carries the mechanical support 22 of the seal 12.
- the profile is provided with a guide chimney 18, here fixed directly to the connector 14, and the luminaire is provided with a guide finger 17, here fixed directly to the connector 15, to bring the two connectors opposite longitudinally when assembling a luminaire on a profile.

Description
The present invention relates to a fixing device comprising a luminaire, a support profile and a blade, or a rod, removable elastic and having two parts linked elastically to each other and each carrying or constituting a hook, one adapted to hang on a hanging element of the luminaire and the other adapted to hang on a hanging element of the bearing profile.
The invention applies mainly in lighting paths for humid or dusty atmospheres, such as found in refineries, tunnels, heavy industries, slaughterhouses, chemical factories, laundries, food industries, etc., and also when the installation of the devices or their maintenance is limited for various reasons such as: installations working continuously, impossible maintenance on the site itself, dangerous interventions if they are long, etc.
A device comprising a bearing profile and a plate carrying a fluorescent tube and the related electrical equipment, with an elastic blade, in the shape of an inverted U, provided with hooks arranged to allow the hooking of the edges of the plate, is described in the document DE-A-3 226 838. The use of elastic blades previously fixed to the carrier profile has drawbacks, in particular because the assembly is inconvenient.
In the case of lighting paths, it is preferable to be able to place leaf springs in selected places on the luminaire at the time of assembly, so as to obtain maximum flexibility of use. The invention proposes to achieve this goal, while also allowing the mounting of a luminaire without any tools on a support profile previously fixed for example to the ceiling.
To this end, said elastic blade has a folded section so as to constitute two blade parts located back to back, each of the hooks being carried respectively by each of these blade parts back to back, and the hooking element of the carrier profile is placed substantially opposite the luminaire attachment element when the luminaire and the carrier profile are coupled and the dimensions of the sections of the luminaire and of the bearing profile are such that they then have sufficient clearance to place said folded section between the parts of the luminaire and of the profile carrying the fastening elements, so as to fill said clearance by pushing back to move them apart from one another these parts, while being hooked by each of the hooks vis-à-vis respectively to the attachment element of the luminaire and to the attachment element of the profile.
A single folded section with two back-to-back parts linked elastically and each carrying a hook could be sufficient to fix a luminaire on a profile, but it would then lack the means to hold said folded section in the desired place at the time of assembly.
This is why it is advantageous that, the luminaire and the profile having a common plane of symmetry, the elastic blade (or rod) is advantageously a symmetrical U-shaped piece, which has two folded sections each located in a branch of the U.
This makes it possible to fix blades in advance on a luminaire, and to mount the latter in a profile without worrying about an imposed direction of assembly.
The folded section is preferably folded in a Z-shape, so that blade (or rod) portions extending each of the two blade (or rod) portions located back to back are rotated in opposite directions.
Thus it becomes possible that a blade (or rod) part extending one of the back to back parts is arranged so as to be accessible from the outside of the profile and / or of the luminaire, which makes it possible to act without tools the position of a hook, to disassemble the luminaire from the profile.
The profile preferably has an A-shaped section thus constituting a closed volume and an open volume separated by a flat wall (corresponding to the bar of A), said flat wall is provided with an orifice, the luminaire in position is placed between the legs of the A in the open volume, it has a sealed body with a flat face opposite the above-mentioned flat wall of the profile, this flat face is provided with an orifice opposite the orifice of the profile wall , a seal is placed around the orifices between the planar wall of the profile and the planar face of the luminaire, and the means of fixing the luminaire to the profile are dimensioned so that when the luminaire is in position the seal is compressed .
This ensures a high level seal between the interior of the luminaire and the interior of the profile.
The profile advantageously carries, inside, an electrical connector to the right of said orifice, and the luminaire a corresponding connector, so that these connectors are connected when the luminaire is in position in the profile.
This automatically ensures the electrical connection of the luminaire during its assembly, without in any way complicating the assembly of the luminaire without tools.
The profile and the luminaire are advantageously provided with guide means for bringing the two connectors opposite when a luminaire is assembled on a profile.
This makes it possible to mount a luminaire even more quickly in a profile.
These aspects of the invention as well as other more detailed aspects will become more clearly apparent from the following description of a nonlimiting embodiment.
Figure 1 is a cross section of a luminaire according to the invention, provided with a fluorescent tube, and mounted in the support profile (section along AA in Figure 2).
Figure 2 is a longitudinal section of part of the same luminaire but without the fluorescent tube and presented in front of a support profile.
In the following description, the luminaire is a strip for fluorescent tube. Nevertheless it is clear that the invention can be applied as well to any other type of luminaire to be mounted in a support.
It goes without saying that in the context of the description which follows, each time a position will be specified (up, down, right, left, etc.), this only refers to the particular position occupied here in the figure described.

- A device as claimed in any one of the Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the profile has a cross-section in the shape of an A, thus forming a closed volume and an open volume which are separated by a plane wall (corresponding to the cross-bar of the A), said plane wall is provided with an orifice, the luminaire is placed in position between the legs of the A in the open volume and has a hermetically closed body with a plane surface which lies opposite said plane wall of the profile, which plane surface is provided with an orifice opposite the orifice of the wall of the profile, a sealing gasket is placed around the orifices between the plane wall of the profile and the plane surface of the luminaire, and means for fixing the luminaire on the profile are dimensioned such that said gasket is compressed when the luminaire is in position.
- A device as claimed in the preceding Claim, characterized in that the profile supports on its inside an electrical connector in the region of said orifice, and the luminaire supports a corresponding connector such that the connectors are brought into connection with one another when the luminaire is in position in the profile.
- A device as claimed in the preceding Claim, characterized in that the profile and the luminaire are provided with guiding means for bringing the two connectors opposite one another when a luminaire is mounted on a profile.
