Definitions
- the invention relates to a multi-purpose strip made of plastic, which comprises an L-shaped basic shape made of relatively rigid material, the L-legs representing a fastening leg and an end leg and the end leg being at least partially covered with an elastic filler thickening consisting of relatively soft plastic material.
- a bar of the aforementioned type is known for example from DE-PS 36 01 861. However, this only serves as an edge protection rail.
- DE 92 13 975 U1 discloses a sealing strip made of permanently elastic material for sealing a gap.
- the sealing strip has a thin adhesive web which is designed to bear against a surface delimiting a gap. At its edge facing the gap opening, the adhesive web is connected to a transverse web.
- the cross bar is so on the edge of the adhesive bar attached that the adhesive web and cross web have a T-shaped cross profile.
- the crossbar forms an angle with the adhesive web to one side, which is approximately 135 °.
- a shaping section is provided on the web edge of the adhesive web opposite the transverse web, the end edge of which is opposite the adhesive web and has a jagged or toothed shape.
- this sealing strip is only provided in order to be able to easily seal, in particular, curved gaps.
- Such a multi-purpose strip is characterized in that the profile has a ⁇ configuration, in which the protruding middle leg serves as an end leg and that one of the two spread-apart fastening legs can be easily removed if desired .
- the profile can be used on the one hand in a movement joint in the floor covering or in the wall, for example when installing ceramics, natural stone, wood or plaster, the multi-purpose strip being embedded in the covering itself. It is therefore suitable as a movement joint strip in tile screed or on a concrete floor. It can pick up movement from both sides of the middle leg.
- the multi-purpose strip can also serve as a connection profile between a wall and a floor covering when the floor covering presses against the wall.
- the multi-purpose strip can take the place of a so-called silicone joint; however, it is maintenance-free in contrast to the silicone joint.
- the multi-purpose strip is therefore suitable for at least three different areas of application, for which three different profiles must still be used according to the prior art.
- the fill thickening has a U-shape in particular. This will usually be the same thickness on both sides of the end leg; However, it should not be excluded that different thicknesses are selected on different sides.
- the filling thickening of the end leg also has a ⁇ -shaped shape.
- the filling thickening represents a completely formed rectangular strand, which is essentially of equal strength on all sides. It cannot be ruled out that the different sides also have different thicknesses.
- the filling thickening can advantageously be designed as a U- or ⁇ -shaped hollow profile or essentially ⁇ -shaped full profile.
- the filler thickening is designed to converge in the area above the transition from the end leg to the fastening leg. In other words, it converges somewhat in an arrow shape there.
- both fastening legs are provided with such a predetermined breaking point, they can easily be broken off at a fixed edge.
- the multi-purpose strip is laid as an expansion joint strip between two opposite plate sections, between a plate section on the right-hand side and a left-hand wall section and between a left-hand plate section and a right-hand wall section is possible.
- the multi-purpose bar is delivered fully trained for the respective operating conditions and can be easily adapted to special operating conditions.
- At least one of the legs is provided with a meandering edge, so that after removal of the other leg, bending with a curvature out of the axis is easily possible.
- One fastening leg is preferably provided with a straight edge and the other leg with a meandering edge. But it is not excluded that both legs are also mirror images of the same, z. B. are equipped with two meandering edges, e.g. B. are equipped with two meandering or with two smooth edges.
- both legs end in a meandering edge.
- the meandering edge of the first fastening leg and the meandering edge of the second fastening leg are offset such that oscillation-shaped recesses of the first fastening leg are opposed to oscillation-shaped elevations of the second fastening leg and oscillation-shaped elevations of the first leg oscillation-shaped recesses of the second fastening leg.
- the oscillation-like elevations and recesses correspond to sinusoidal oscillations of approximately 2nd degree, ie the angle of inclination and the angle of descent are relatively strong. This special configuration makes it possible for the fastening legs to extend very far below the plate sections. Second, worry the vibration-shaped recesses, which extend to the end leg, for very high flexibility.
- fastening legs are tapered from the inside of the fastening leg beginning to the outer fastening leg end. This measure gives a good hold in the mortar.
- the inner fastening leg start merges into an angled partial leg.
- the partial legs of both fastening legs are advantageously connected to the side of the end leg opposite the shoulder. This connection can be made in that the filling thickening and the angled partial leg are connected to one another by extrusion. Of course, it is also possible to ensure this connection by gluing or the like.
- a special shape of the predetermined tear point is formed by the special design of the beginning of the fastening legs and their connection to the filling thickening. This ensures a very straight and smooth tear point.
- the partial legs are attached to the filling thickening at a distance from one another.
- This joint gives mortar the possibility of penetration given, so that the entire bar can very well stick to the surface.
- the two fastening legs are visibly separated from one another, so that if one of the two fastening legs is torn off, only the connection between the fastening and end legs, ie the pulling off of the fastening leg from the filling thickening, needs to be made.
- the fastening legs are provided with perforations.
- the filler thickening advantageously has structures on the outside that increase adhesion, in particular grooves running in the direction of the inguinal axis. This improves the connection between the filling thickening and the adjacent mortar layer.
- At least one of the fastening legs has structures that increase adhesion on its underside, in particular elevations running in the direction of the groin axis.
- the adhesion-increasing structures on the end and on one or both fastening legs ensure a very good and perfect hold of the multi-purpose bar.
- the fastening legs advantageously end with a straight end.
- the multi-purpose bar has a ⁇ configuration.
- the middle leg is the end leg 2.
- the two spread fastening legs 3 and 4 are each longer than the middle leg. They can also be of different lengths. They converge towards the outside, the thicker end lying in the area of the transition from the end leg to the fastening leg.
- the end leg 2 is provided with a U-shaped filling thickening 5, which is a sheathing extending over the upper and outer sides of the middle leg.
- a soft PVC with a Shore A hardness of 20-50 is selected.
- the filling thickening has adhesion-increasing structures, here grooves 6 running in the direction of the groin axis.
- the filling thickening has converging regions 7, so that it converges there approximately wedge-shaped, as can also be seen from the figure is.
- the upper shoulders 17 can be rounded; the entire upper side can also be rounded in the form of a dome or even, as shown in the drawing. It is also possible to provide the filling thickening only on the sides and to let the upper end of the middle thigh unthickened or to let it run out in a T or ⁇ shape.
- a triangular groove is provided on the underside of the fastening leg in the transition region between the end leg to the fastening leg, each of which results in a predetermined breaking point 8, 8 '.
- the mounting leg 3 or 4 can be easily broken off from the rest of the multi-purpose bar.
- the predetermined breaking points 8, 8 ' are kept so strong that there is sufficient rigidity when the end and fastening legs are connected to one another.
- the two fastening legs have different ones Contours. While the first fastening leg 3 ends in a meandering edge, the opposite second fastening leg 4 has a straight outer edge 12. If the leg 4 is removed and only the first fastening leg remains with the meandering outer edge 11, the multi-purpose strip can be bent like a curve ruler and thus be adapted to various curves, which result, for example, as the outer edge and must be provided with an edge protection strip.
- fastening legs are provided with perforations 9, 10.
- circular holes are provided in the protruding fingers of the fastening leg at the first fastening leg; alternating circular holes and W configurations are provided in the second mounting leg.
- the multi-purpose strip 1 can be made as a whole from soft and hard thermoplastic, preferably hard and soft PVC. Combinations of materials can also be specified, for example metal as the inner ⁇ configuration, which is encased with a rubber foam as filling compaction.
- the dimensions of the end leg and fastening leg can be very different. It should also be noted that the end leg also carries a filling compression on the sides, not on the top, and that the end leg can be cut or broken off at different heights, with additional predetermined breaking points being provided at different heights of the end leg.
- middle leg can also be used alone with the filling thickening. Both fastening legs are used for this broken in the predetermined breaking points 8.
- the remaining middle leg (end leg 2) is hammered or glued into an open joint.
- the dimensions of the legs are variable; the web height of the middle leg can be, for example, between 6 and 500 mm.
- FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of a multi-purpose bar 1 '. It consists of a fastening leg 2 'and two end legs 3' and 4 'extending at right angles to both sides.
- the fastening leg 2 ' has a core made of hard PVC in the form of an inner web element 15'.
- the inner web element is approximately 3 mm high and approximately 1 mm at its lower end and 1.2 mm wide at its upper end. Of course, it is also possible that the width is carried out at all locations on the web element.
- a soft PVC is extruded around the web element 15 'and is designed as a filling thickening 5'. Of course, it is also possible to form the filling thickening in hard PVC or a harder PVC.
- the filling thickening 5 ' thus receives its ⁇ shape.
- the filling thickening has structures on the outside that increase adhesion in the form of grooves 6 ′ running in the direction of the groin axis.
- the filling thickening 5 ' has a concave configuration k on its shoulder 17'.
- the shoulder 17 ' is curved at its deepest point relative to the two outer sides by about 5/100 to 5/10 mm, preferably 2/10 mm, concave k. This has the great advantage that when the multi-purpose strip is used as an expansion joint when the filling thickening is pressed, it expands straight and evenly upwards.
- the fastening legs 3 'and 4' have a meandering edge 11 ', 11''.
- Both fastening legs 3 'and 4' have vibration-shaped recesses 13 'and 14' and vibration-shaped elevations 18 'and 19'.
- Perforations 9 'and 10' in the form of round recesses are made in the fastening legs 3 'and 4'. It is essential that the vibration-shaped recesses and the vibration-shaped elevations of the first leg are opposed to vibration-shaped elevations 19 'and vibration-shaped recesses 14'. This means that a recess 13 'or 14' is always opposite an elevation 18 'or 19'.
- the fastening legs 3 'and 4' taper from the beginning of the fastening leg 3 '''and4''' to the end of the fastening leg. This means that the fastening leg beginning 3 ''',4''' is stronger than the fastening leg end 3 '' or 4 ''.
- the fastening leg end 3 ′′ or 4 ′′ merges into a partial leg 20 ′ or 21 ′ which is angled relative to the remaining fastening leg 3 ′ or 4 ′.
- this partial leg 20 'and 21' the fastening legs 3 'and 4' are formed on the filling thickening 5 'of the end leg 2'. This molding can be done by extrusion.
- This special connection in a converging area 7 'of the fastening leg 2' creates a predetermined separation point 8 '.
- the partial legs 20 'and 21' are also not formed flush with each other on the filling thickening 5 'of the fastening leg 2', so that there is a distance 24 '.
- both fastening legs are provided with adhesion-increasing structures on their back provided in the form of linear elevations 22 'and 23'.
- the fastening legs 3 'and 4' are formed closed at their ends 25 'and 26'.
- the filling thickening 5 ' is provided with tear-off edges which enable partial strips of the filling thickening 5' to be pulled off. These peeling edges can advantageously coincide with the grooves 6 '. If the filling thickening 5 'is drawn off as a strip on the grooves 6' on both sides, the end leg can be adapted very universally to the respective tile height.
- Panels in particular ceramic panels, are laid on a screed.
- a multi-purpose strip is inserted into the mortar after a certain distance.
- the mortar penetrates the perforations 9 'and 10' and penetrates the distance 24 'and between the linear elevations 22' and 23 '. Because the meandering outer edges 11 'and 11 "lie opposite one another, the multi-purpose strip can be brought very precisely to the outer edges of the individual plates. The next plate field is placed from the other side.
