Abstract

Cooling system for the door of an oven, comprising a flat ventilation pipe (10), in which there is produced, by means of an extractor fan (6), a circulation of air above the door, the latter comprising at least two intercalary passages (22, 23) parallel to one another for the flow of two separate flows of air, these passages communicating on the one hand with one or more access orifices (24) provided in the lower part of the door and on the other hand with one or more outlet orifices (30, 31) in its upper part. According to the invention, this system is characterised in that the outlet orifices (30, 31) are provided in the immediate vicinity of the flat ventilation pipe (10), the profile of the door towards the interior of the muffle being arranged so that the circulation of air in the flat pipe creates a low pressure in a space (27) formed behind the door (17), between the latter and the muffle (2), when it is applied against the latter. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a domestic cooking oven and relates more particularly, although not exclusively, to an oven of this kind comprising, in addition to traditional heating means such as in particular electrical resistances, or even in addition to the latter, a microwave transmitter enabling the food introduced into the internal cavity of the muffle of this oven to be brought to the cooking temperature, itself housed inside an external enclosure provided with a pivoting door for access to this cavity, advantageously comprising one or more parallel glass plates and providing intermediate spaces between them, a device for controlling these resistances, capable of causing a momentary rise in temperature, appreciably greater, for consuming the greases or other residues which have deposited on the internal walls of the muffle to clean them. Such an arrangement of an oven of this kind is well known under the name of pyrolysis device.

However, in such constructions, the very high temperature to which the internal atmosphere of the muffle can be brought, risks simultaneously increasing that of the walls of the external enclosure, in particular of the pivoting glass door, disposed on the front face. from the oven.

In particular, if no precautions are taken, the temperature of the exterior surface of the door may exceed the level above which the user who inadvertently applies his hand or fingers against this door, risks accidentally being burned. contact of this surface.

To overcome this drawback, various means have already been used in the construction of such ovens, which consist of using insulating materials, in particular placed around the muffle in order to best reduce the heat losses to the outside of that -this and consequently the heating by conduction of the parts of the corresponding enclosure. Likewise, attempts have been made to limit heat losses by radiation by the use of reflective materials such as aluminum or polished stainless steel, in particular in the face of the door opposite the muffle. Finally, we frequently aim to reduce convection, by creating an air circulation in the vicinity of the internal surface of the door, in order to evacuate the calories which heat it, in particular in the intermediate spaces formed between the plates of transparent glass mounted in the door frame.

By way of examples, reference may be made, to illustrate these known solutions, to the German patent DE-A-3,014,908, to the American patent US-A-3,893,442 or even to the French patents FR-A-2,416,627 and 2,653,861. However, in these solutions, the air circulation, natural or forced, in contact with the internal face of the door to cool it in part, proves to be ineffective, by not making it possible to reach the high and constant flow rates which would be necessary to achieve a significant reduction in the temperature of the pivoting door.

Even more precisely, reference can be made to French patent application FR-A-2 655 132 which combines a ventilator providing an air flow in a duct provided above the muffle inside the oven enclosure, the glazed door comprising two intermediate spaces, separated but superimposed in the thickness of the door. The air flow produced by the fan is subdivided into two parts, one flowing from top to bottom in the first space, located in the door on the side thereof directed towards the inside of the muffle from directly from the duct, while the other, at the end of this duct, crosses the door by an evacuation passage where the upper part of the second space ends. In this zone, is thus created a depression capable of sucking inside this second space of the fresh air outside the enclosure, which enters there by openings provided at the lower part of the door, the air thus collected in this space then circulating from the bottom to the top, therefore in the opposite direction of the flow in the first space. But, here again, we see that the vacuum created, which is in fact produced in front of the door and above it, is generally very weak and practically ineffective, so that the air gap in the second space located in the door on the side thereof directed outward, is substantially stagnant, which does not allow to lower as much as necessary the temperature of this door. In addition, in this solution, the two intermediate spaces provided in the door itself communicate with the outside of the front face of the latter by orifices, if necessary superimposed, which hinder, or even prevent, the installation in this place. the handle for pivoting the door. Finally, due to the temperature differences, a notable natural convection phenomenon is established in the first space, with displacement of the air from bottom to top, which opposes the flow of air blown by the fan circulating in the direction reverse, hence a reduced efficiency of the cooling obtained.

We also know the arrangement which consists of providing above the oven muffle, between the upper face of this muffle, coated with an appropriate layer of thermal insulating material and a generally parallel or profiled wall provided facing and belonging to the external enclosure, a flat duct for evacuating the fumes or vapors created inside the muffle in operation, this flat duct being put in communication for this purpose by a chimney or other connecting member with the inside of the muffle . For the implementation of this solution, there is also provided in the rear part of the enclosure, an exhaust fan, which flows into the aforementioned flat duct and carries in this duct the fumes coming from the chimney connecting with the inside the muffle, to eliminate them towards the front face of the enclosure above the pivoting door, through louvers or similar passages, provided in this front face.

In particular, a provision of this kind was more particularly envisaged in French patent application FR-A-2 673 268, published on 28.08.92 in the name of the Applicant Company, in which the flat duct where the fumes are collected, has to the right of the connecting chimney a reduction in height, this flat duct acting in the manner of a Venturi so that, due to the depression created in it, the fumes present inside the muffle are sucked in the duct and expelled to the exhaust vents on the front panel under the effect of the air flow supplied by the fan.

The present invention relates to a domestic cooking oven of the kind mentioned. above, in particular of the pyrolysis oven type, in which is therefore arranged, above the muffle, a flat ventilation duct in which is produced by means of a fan-extractor housed in the enclosure of the oven rear of this duct, a forced circulation of air in the direction of the front face of this enclosure, the exhaust of air to the outside takes place through gills or similar openings provided in this face above the upper edge of the pivoting door which allows access to the interior of this block.

To this end, in a baking oven of this type, in which the pivoting glass door has in its thickness at least two continuous but separate intermediate passages, parallel to one another, for the flow of two streams of separate air, these passages being in communication on the one hand with one or more access orifices provided at the lower part of the door and on the other hand with one or more exit orifices in its upper part, is characterized in that the outlet openings of said passages are provided in the immediate vicinity of the flat ventilation duct in the rear part of the door, the profile of the latter towards the inside of the muffle being arranged so that the circulation of air in the flat duct creates a depression in a space provided behind the door, between the latter and the muffle, when it is applied against the latter.

The circulation of air in the flat ventilation duct thus creates, in the vicinity of the exit orifices of the door, a notable but precisely localized depression, such that the air present in the continuous intermediate passages formed in the door is permanently sucked in and evacuated out of these with the ventilation air which circulates in the flat duct, through the openings of the front face. This results in a forced and particularly effective circulation of air inside the door, from the bottom to the top of the latter, in the passages which it comprises, which ensures an energetic cooling of its structures and in particular of the surface of the glass plates and the metal frame placed at the front of this door.

Advantageously, the pivoting door comprises a rear partition directed towards the inside of the oven muffle into which it partially penetrates and shaped to present, outside the muffle under the ventilation duct, a recessed profile so as to delimit behind the door, a tranquilization zone of the air flow before extraction under the effect of depression.

In a preferred embodiment, the outlet openings of the intermediate passages are formed in the rear partition of the door, in line with the tranquilization zone. As a variant, the outlet orifices are arranged at the periphery of the door in its upper edge, the passages being respectively limited by a peripheral profile, in particular leaking towards the interior of the enclosure, in which these orifices are made. exit. Depending on the case, these orifices can be arranged behind or on top of the peripheral profile, being offset downwards or situated at the same height as the outside edge of the door.

Other characteristics of a cooking oven established in accordance with the invention will become more apparent from the following description of several exemplary embodiments, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic, in perspective with partial cutaway, of a cooking oven whose enclosure and the pivoting door disposed on the front thereof, are arranged in accordance with the invention.
  • Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of part of the oven according to Figure 1, to the right of the flat ventilation duct which it comprises.
  • Figures 3 to 6 are diagrams illustrating various alternative embodiments of the peripheral part of the pivoting door of the oven of Figures 1 and 2.

In the schematic view of FIG. 1, the reference 1 schematically designates a domestic cooking oven of a type in itself known in the art, comprising an internal muffle 2 and an external enclosure 3, in particular formed by two parallel walls, 4 and 5 respectively, the space delimited between these allowing air coming from the atmosphere outside the oven and entering this space through openings (not shown), to be taken up by a fan 6, housed in the enclosure and towards the rear part thereof, above the muffle 2.

Between the surface of the muffle 2, delimiting the internal cavity 7 of the oven and the wall 4 is advantageously provided an appropriate thickness of a thermal insulating material 8. The fan 6 comprises a distribution box 9 which communicates with the interior of a flat duct 10, delimited between the sheet 11 which forms the upper part of the wall 4 of the enclosure and a second sheet 12 disposed above the first, the space delimited between this sheet 12 and the upper face 13 of the enclosure 3, also being filled with a thermal insulating material 14.

Preferably, the profile of the flat duct 10 in which the fan 6 flows, is arranged so as to have a section whose height decreases from the fan to the front face 15 of the oven, in which louvers such as 16 for the evacuation of the forced air circulation thus produced. If necessary, the duct 10 can be arranged to include the provisions already mentioned which are the subject of patent application FR-A-2 673 268, these not being included here so as not to overload the drawing.

The front face 15 of the oven is also capable of being closed by a pivoting door 17, articulated at its lower part on the enclosure 3 around a horizontal axis (not shown), this door comprising an operating handle 18 provided at its upper part.

The door 17 is arranged in a conventional manner in itself and comprises in particular a rear partition 19, directed towards the cavity 7 of the muffle 2 in the closed position of the door, a front partition 20 on the front face of the enclosure 3 and an intermediate partition 21, dividing the space between the partitions 19 and 20 into two passages or intermediate spaces, respectively 22 and 23, these passages being thus distinct from one another and extending continuously over the entire height of the door 17. These passages can have identical or different volumes and transverse dimensions in depth and in width, depending on the structure and geometry of the door itself. The latter has at its lower end orifices such as 24, communicating with and the other of the two passages 22 and 23, so that air can be taken from the atmosphere outside the enclosure 3 and circulate in parallel but separately in each of these passages.

The partitions 19, 20 and 21 of the door 17 are produced in a conventional manner, in particular by comprising a central glazed part, possibly of reinforced glass, surrounded by a metal frame, the dimensions of the door being such that the edge of the rear partition. 19 are applied against the framing of the muffle, advantageously with the interposition of a metal sealing gasket (not shown), the edge of the anterior partition 20 coming itself to be disposed under the return 25 of the upper face 13 of enclosure 3, under the evacuation openings 16.

According to the invention, the upper edge 26 of the door 17 and, where appropriate, its rear face in the partition 19 in the vicinity of this upper edge, are arranged so as to allow, in combination with the profile of the flat duct 10 for circulation of the air coming from the fan 6, to create behind the door 17 in the closed position a significant and permanent depression such that the two air flows which circulate in the direction of arrows in the intermediate spaces 22 and 23, from the lower part of the door, penetrating into it through the inlet orifices 24, are constantly in motion and ensure effective cooling of the door.

To this end and according to the invention, the rear partition 19 of the door 17 is arranged so that the aforementioned depression is created above and preferably towards the rear of the door 17, the two separate air flows. circulating in the parallel passages 22 and 23 being directly routed as close as possible to the zone where this depression is produced. In addition, it conforms the upper edge 26 of the door to delimit behind it in the upper part of the partition 19 a tranquilization space 27, improving the extraction of the two flows and their final evacuation from the enclosure.

For this purpose and as can be seen in the variants of Figures 3 to 6, the partition 19 is folded twice at right angles, first by a first part 28 towards the front partition 20, then by a second part 29 which extends parallel to it, thus delimiting in all cases the space 27.

In the case of FIG. 3, the part 29 of the partition 19 is pierced with superimposed orifices 30 and 31, communicating with each of the passages 22 and 23 respectively, the air flows being routed directly into the space 27, then beyond this, in the duct 10 where, due to the vacuum created by the flow supplied by the fan 6 to the right of the door 17, they are sucked in with the circulating air in the duct 10. In this variant, the upper part of the space 23 is closed by a flat edge 32.

In the variant according to FIG. 4, the outlet orifices 30 and 31 are provided not directly in the part 29 of the partition 19, but in the upper edge 33 common to the two intermediate passages 22 and 23, this edge having in this case a profile leaking from the inside to the outside of the enclosure and preferably a double corrugation profile, the outlet orifices being offset in height from one passage to the other.

In another variant according to Figure 5, the outlets 30 and 31 of the passages 22 and 23 are provided side by side in the upper edge 36 which is again common to these two passages, but which extends perpendicular to the partition 20. Finally, in the variant according to Figure 6, the upper edge 37 has a recess 38 so that the orifices 30 are arranged in the same plane as the orifices 31, but at a level slightly lower than that of the edge of end of the anterior partition 20.

There is thus produced a device for cooling a pivoting door for a domestic cooking oven, of very simple design, which makes it possible to provide behind and above the upper end of this door a significant and permanent depression, allowing extraction effective continuous air flows created in the passages provided therein, avoiding the phenomenon of stagnant air gap that is encountered very generally in the prior art.

Of course, it goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described above and shown in Figures 3 to 6. In particular, the cross section of the passages 22 and 23 can be arbitrary and not only with a constant surface as shown in the figures. Similarly, the partitions 19, 20 and 21 are not necessarily plane and parallel at all points. In particular, provision can be made for the second passage 23 to be delimited between a central or intermediate partition 21, planar, and an anterior partition 20, of slightly rounded or domed shape on the front face of the furnace. If necessary, this anterior partition may have recesses or be curved or curved only over part of its surface.
