Definitions
- the invention relates to an electric hand plane according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a generic planer is known from US-A-4 555 850. Whose planing depth setting device with readable planing depth is carried out by means of a single handle which is coupled to a wedge-shaped body which can be pushed back and forth in the manner of an inclined plane on the underside of the hand plane. With this hand planer, the planing depth adjustment is achieved in a relatively simple manner, with little design and manufacturing effort. However, this hand planer has the disadvantage that an exact adjustment of the planing depth requires a lot of feeling and time
- the electric planer according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that the planing depth is particularly precise, controlled and quickly adjustable.
- the improved manageability increases the practical value of the hand plane so significantly that, in contrast, the increased design and manufacturing effort is negligible.
- FIG. 1 shows a side view of a hand plane according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a sectional side view of the front area of the hand plane
- FIG. 2 shows the top view of this area of the hand plane.
- FIG. 1 shows its construction, consisting of a planer housing 2 with a main handle 3, in which an on-off switch 4 is arranged.
- An electric cable 5 leading to the outside in the rear area of the hand plane 1 is connected in the interior of the hand plane housing 2 to an electric motor, not shown in detail.
- the seat of the electric motor is indicated by the contour of the motor housing 6.
- a schematically represented planing roller with planing knives 7 can be seen in the center area of the hand plane 1, above which a chip ejection opening 8 is arranged.
- the hand planer 1 sits on a workpiece 10 with its wedge-shaped body 9 arranged in the front region.
- the maximum cutting depth is set here, specified by the grading in the Sole 11 of the planer 1 near the planing roller 7.
- the planer 1 carries a front handle 12, with its rotation about its axis 13 the wedge-shaped body 9 moves and the depth of cut changes.
- the front area of the planer 1 shown in FIG. 2 shows the planer housing 2 thereof with the handle 12 protruding upwards beyond the planer housing 2, which also serves as an additional handle.
- the handle 12 is rotatable about the axis 13 and slidable in an elongated hole 15 of the planer housing 2.
- the handle 12 projects into the planer housing 2 with a cylindrical extension configured as a toothed roller 16.
- the toothed roller 16 projects with its free end 17 into a receiving bore 18 of the wedge-shaped body 9.
- This has an upper wedge surface 19 and a lower support surface 20. With the upper wedge surface 19, the wedge-shaped body 9 is slidably mounted on the obliquely counter surface 21 of the planer housing 2 .
- the receiving bore 18 is located in a tube-like extension 22 of the wedge-shaped body 9, in which the axis 13 designed as a screw bolt with a hexagon head 23 is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the axis 13 passes centrally through the toothed roller 16 and the handle 12, on which it is axially secured with its free end.
- the axis 13 is provided at its free end with a thread 24 onto which a hexagon nut 25 is screwed.
- a compression spring 27 is supported against the hexagon nut 25 via a washer 26, which is supported on the side opposite the washer 26 in a stepped bore 28 of the handle 12.
- a locking pin 30 is closely guided, axially displaceably arranged, which is supported with its rear side against a spring 31 and projects into one of the locking recesses 32 of the planer housing 2.
- the toothed roller 16 engages with its outer tooth region in two toothed racks 33, 34 which are fixedly arranged parallel to one another in the planer housing 2.
- the lower, sole-like wedge surface 20 of the wedge-shaped body 9 is assigned to a workpiece (not shown), determines the distance between the planing roller (not shown) and the workpiece surface and thus the cutting depth. Thus, the further the wedge-shaped body 9 is moved forward, the further upwards the lower wedge surface 20 moves and the greater the depth of cut.
- the handle 12 If the handle 12 is rotated about the axis 13, the outer tooth region of the toothed roller 16 rolls on the tooth regions of the toothed racks 33, 34. As a result of the positive locking, the rotation is converted into a translation without slip, so that the handle 12 moves together with the toothed roller 16, the axis 13 and the wedge-shaped body 9 along the racks 33, 34 or along the slot-like recess 15.
- the wedge-shaped body 9 is secured in position with its upper wedge surface 19 on the counter surface 21 on the housing 2 by ribs or grooves, not shown, running parallel to the direction of displacement, transversely to the direction of displacement.
- the handle 12 is guided in the slot-like recess 15 of the planer housing 2 against evasion transversely to the direction of displacement at least on two opposite sides, so that the toothed roller 16 is always held against the racks 33, 34 with little play.
- the handle 12 and the wedge-shaped body 9 strive towards one another and clamp the plane housing 2 between them.
- FIG. 3 the top view of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2 illustrates the arrangement of the handle 12 and the latching recesses 32.
- a pointer-like marking carrier 35 which is arranged on the axis 13 in a manner fixed against rotation, whose position with respect to a scale 36 enables an exact setting of certain chip depth dimensions allowed between 0 and 1.5 mm.
- P designates a "parking position" in which the planer 1 can be set down without the risk of injury to the planing roller 7 with planing knives which may have been started unintentionally.
- a crank gear is arranged on the handle instead of the toothed roller and the toothed racks, which is supported in the interior of the planer housing and in principle has the same effect as the toothed gear.
- a pivot lever carrying the handle is articulated with one end in the wedge-shaped body.
- the swivel lever is supported on the housing on a shaft that is fixed to the rocker. This forms a two-armed lever, the pivoting movement of which must follow the wedge-shaped body.
- the wedge-shaped body is displaced by pivoting the handle in and against the feed direction.
- An elastic length compensation between the pivot lever and the wedge-shaped body can be produced analogously to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an electric hand plane according to the preamble of claim 1.
However, this hand planer has the disadvantage that an exact adjustment of the planing depth requires a lot of feeling and time
The electric planer according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that the planing depth is particularly precise, controlled and quickly adjustable.
From DE-OS 34 41 943 an electric hand planer is known which enables the wedge-shaped body to be adjusted to adjust the depth of cut by means of a spiral cam gear by rotating its additional handle. The spiral cam gear consists of a large number of parts that are difficult to manufacture. As a result, the manufacturing costs for the known planer are high. In addition, the spiral cam gear tends to block due to incoming wood shavings and dust.
The improved manageability increases the practical value of the hand plane so significantly that, in contrast, the increased design and manufacturing effort is negligible.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the subclaims.
Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail in the following description with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Es zeigen Figur 1 eine Seitenansicht eines erfindungsgemäßen Handhobels, Figur 2 eine seitliche Schnittdarstellung des vorderen Bereichs des Handhobels und Figur 2 die Draufsicht auf diesen Bereich des Handhobels.FIG. 1 shows a side view of a hand plane according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a sectional side view of the front area of the hand plane and FIG. 2 shows the top view of this area of the hand plane.
The embodiment of a hand planer 1 shown in FIG. 1 shows its construction, consisting of a

The front area of the planer 1 shown in FIG. 2 shows the

If the
Here, the wedge-
Because the
In FIG. 3, the top view of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2 illustrates the arrangement of the
In an embodiment of the invention, not shown, a crank gear is arranged on the handle instead of the toothed roller and the toothed racks, which is supported in the interior of the planer housing and in principle has the same effect as the toothed gear.
In a further exemplary embodiment, not shown, instead of the axis according to FIG. 2, a pivot lever carrying the handle is articulated with one end in the wedge-shaped body. Near the bearing, the swivel lever is supported on the housing on a shaft that is fixed to the rocker. This forms a two-armed lever, the pivoting movement of which must follow the wedge-shaped body. The wedge-shaped body is displaced by pivoting the handle in and against the feed direction. An elastic length compensation between the pivot lever and the wedge-shaped body can be produced analogously to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2.
