- the switch assembly for use on a membrane switch preferably comprises: a housing, the housing has an open end sitting on the membrane switch, the other end of the housing has an passage; a key, the key has a key cap and a plunger extended from bottom of the key cap, one end of the plunger has a detention means, the plunger is received in space of the housing through the passage of the housing; and a elastic body, the elastic body is placed in the space of the housing and rested on the membrane switch, the elastic body has a mounting means; wherein the detention means is rested on the mounting means of the elastic body, and the key is moved reciprocally along the passage of the housing under the control of the user and elastic body.

- the detention means 111 is detained by the edge of the passage of the housing 13 when the plunger 11 is moving upward due to the force of the elastic body 12. Therefore, the key 1 will not detached from the housing 13 under the operational condition.
- the plunger 11 is moved reciprocally inside of the housing 13 along the passage of the housing under the action of the user.
- the elastic body 12 is placed inside the housing 13 and rests on the membrane switch 14.
- the elastic body 12 has a mounting means 121 and the detention means 111 of the plunger 11 rests thereon.
- the diameter of the elastic body 12 may be made larger than that of the conventional art.
- the contact diameter of the plunger 11 and the mounting means 121 is larger than in the conventional art so that a much better stability is achieved while the key of the present invention is depressed downward.
