Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device, designed to store two components separately before their use, and to put the two components in the presence of each other only at the time of their use.
Dissolved in an aqueous or organic solvent, certain organic or organometallic compounds become unstable and quickly lose their specific chemical activity (oxidizing for example), hence the need to put them in presence only at the time of their use .
- Devices constituted by two tanks directly assembled one on the other (see for example FR-A-2 495 578): the perforation of the cover is effected by a relative screwing movement, and thus the necessary gesture before the is relatively inconvenient.
- Devices constituted by two tanks assembled by means of a third element which forms a kind of connection and which comprises the separating cap (see for example FR-A-2 049 527): the structure is relatively complex and expensive, since '' it requires, in total, three distinct elements.
- Devices one of the two reservoirs of which is integrated into a stopper, the other reservoir being in particular a bottle closed by this stopper (see for example: FR-A-2 242 303, DE-A-3 208 786, EP-A -0 090 361): these devices also generally require more than two elements, often due to a special element intended for the perforation of the cover, and their application is limited to the case where, depending on the characteristics of the components, one of them occupies only a small volume and can be stored in a small tank incorporated in the cap.
The present invention aims to eliminate these drawbacks, by providing a device of great simplicity in structure and use, the proposed device being composed of only two parts, which provide for them. only all the functions, and this device making it possible to bring the two constituents together by an extremely simple gesture.
To this end, the invention relates to a device for separately storing two constituents and bringing them into contact at the time of use, comprising two reservoirs respectively containing the two constituents and placed in communication in a relative movement by perforating a seal which separates them initially, the two tanks being shaped like substantially cylindrical tubes which interpenetrate and can slide relative to each other, one of the cylindrical tank tubes having a closed end and being fitted with the cover, while that the other cylindrical reservoir tube, also closed at one end, has another open end and is arranged for the insertion of the cover by bringing the two reservoir tubes together (such a device is known from FR-A-2 049 527), the device being characterized in that it is composed of only two parts, namely a first part constituting the reservoir tube with its cover, and a second piece constituting the other reservoir tube and carrying a notched bevel for the insertion of the cover.
Thus, the device which is the subject of the invention is produced by means of only two elements, shaped as reservoir tubes, each of them being closed at one end and one penetrating into the other to form a telescopic cylindrical structure, while that the perforable seal, of small thickness and arranged perpendicular to the axis of the device, ensures at the outset a perfect seal at the separation of the two constituents. The connection of the two reservoirs, and consequently the bringing together of the two constituents, is carried out by relative approximation of the two tubes, in a simple sliding movement obtained by a very simple and rapid gesture. The beveled part of one of the tubes then perforates the cover, and maintains it in a position or state such that the intercommunication between the two tanks is total and permanent.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the notched bevel is carried directly by the open end, and turned towards the cover, of the second cylindrical reservoir tube, which is slidably mounted inside the first cylindrical reservoir tube , equipped with the cover. In a variant, the second cylindrical reservoir tube is slidably mounted outside the first cylindrical reservoir tube, equipped with the cover while the notched bevel is attached to the end of the second cylindrical reservoir tube remote from the operculum.
During the operation of bringing together the two reservoir tubes and perforating the cover, the balancing of the internal and external pressures is ensured either by a very small diameter orifice formed in the wall of the second cylindrical reservoir tube , either by a calibrated valve also carried by the wall of the second reservoir tube.
Once brought into contact, the two constituents can be mixed, if they are in solid / solid or liquid / liquid phases. These constituents can also be dissolved, if they are in solid / liquid phases. By shaking the device with one hand, you can homogenize the mixture or activate the dissolution. The mixture or the solution thus formed can then be easily recovered, simply by separating the two reservoir tubes, so that the final content of the device can flow into a container intended to collect the mixture or the solution.
- Figure 1 représente, en coupe et à l'état initial, le dispositif selon l'invention, dans une première forme d'exécution ;
- Figure 2 montre le même dispositif après mise en communication des deux réservoirs ;
- Figure 1 shows, in section and in the initial state, the device according to the invention, in a first embodiment;
- Figure 2 shows the same device after connecting the two tanks;
- Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 1, relating to a second embodiment of this device.
A cover 4 of very low thickness (of the order of two tenths of a millimeter for example), in particular in the case where the device is made of elastic material, is disposed at a predetermined distance from the orifice of the tube 1.
The filling of the reservoir B formed by the
According to a variant not illustrated, the closed end of the female tube 1 can be constituted by a plug fitted with a tared mini-valve, this device then replacing the
By way of nonlimiting example, the device, in the initial position, has dimensions of the order of 20 cm for the total length and 2 cm for the outside diameter, the volumes of the tanks A and B then being respectively 25 and 7 cubic centimeters.
- The cover 4, which previously was rigid and which tilted under the effect of the bevel, is replaced by a tear-off cover which is destroyed by pressing on the
tube 5. - This tearable lid 4 is located at the end of the tube 1, and no longer at a distance from this end.
- The
tube 5, comprising the notched bevel 7, is not guided by the inside of the tube 1 but comes to cap this tube 1 from the outside, forming a sort of converge. - The notched bevel 7 is not formed by the
end 6 of thetube 5 adjoining the cover 4, but it is attached to the opposite end of thistube 5. - The filling orifice and the closing means are eliminated, the component filling the reservoir A being introduced before sealing the cover 4 on the tube 1.
In addition, the outer surface of the
The device according to the invention is particularly intended to be integrated into an individual decontamination device for essentially military use.
