Definitions
- the invention relates to a package of in-line, placed in a transport box, summarized by a wrapping around them, in which the transport box is provided in its interior with columns attached to its bottom, which taper upwards and spaces for containers between include themselves, and which are arranged in places where there is an intermediate space between four containers inserted into the transport box.
- This packaging is known from DE-A-22 24 866. It has become very important because it has become possible with this packaging to transport bottles combined in cardboard boxes into a carrying unit on the way to the consumer without the cardboard boxes being damaged when they are placed in this bottle crate, and when the empty individual bottles are returned to it enable that the bottles are all transported back in an upright position without the possibility of falling over and can be automatically lifted out of the bottle crate by grippers in the bottle filling mode. This meant a significant technical advance, because in this way the bottles, which were combined in cartons to form carrying units, could be returned to the filling operation without any break after they were emptied and there can be removed from the bottle crates in automated systems without operator intervention.
- shrink wrap packaging has become popular on the market, with which not only bottles but also cylindrical containers in straight rows can be combined to support units (GB-A-969 584).
- shrink film packaging has a number of advantages compared to the outer cartons - it tightens the containers, they cannot be damaged by moisture, they do not need any imprint, because of their transparency they leave the buyer's eye on the goods or on labels stuck to the goods fall off, labels on the goods are not damaged by them and they are extremely inexpensive - and although the shrink film packaging has been known for as long as the packaging with outer cartons, the technology has not been able to design a transport box in this way, that it can be transported in shrink-wrap containers without damage for transport to the consumer and that the empties can be returned without falling over of individual empties containers even if not all of the spaces in the interior of the box Containers are occupied, as the transport box of DE-PS 22 24 866 is capable of.
- the shrink film packaging is easily damaged during automatic handling in packaging machines if it is inserted into the column-provided transport boxes. Such damage will in most cases render this packaging unusable.
- the bottle crate according to DE-PS 22 24 866 is set up by compartments running from side wall to side wall in compartments to accommodate a two-row bottle carrier or two single-row bottle carriers, there are also bottle crates which lack such partition walls and in which the bottle storage spaces are used only by Columns attached to the floor are defined, such as DE-GM 66 00 254 shows.
- these bottle crates are not used for the transport of bottles combined into carrying units by a covering, but only for the transport of individual bottles.
- pillars in such bottle crates have become known in a wide variety of forms. (FR-A-1 255 160) They range from star-shaped shapes to rectangular rounded and oval intermediate shapes to simple cylinders.
- the invention avoids the disadvantages of the prior art. It is the object of the invention, the packaging of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it is suitable for support units of preferably cylindrical containers which are held together by a shrink film as a covering.
- the invention consists in that the covering of the containers consists of shrink film and that the columns arranged in the transport box have a cross-section which is wide in the direction of the rows of containers combined to form a support unit and which is narrow transversely to this row direction and is formed from two circular segments facing each other that run out at their junction to a ridge.
- the invention further consists in the use of a transport box for the transport of containers according to claim 5.
- This packaging has made it possible to accommodate containers combined by shrink film to form a carrying unit in a transport box which is suitable for the return transport of individually standing containers.
- the columns which are very narrow in the direction of the rows, line up with a large width on the outside of the shrink film support units and thus give the packaged containers a firm fit without the shrink film on the outside being damaged by projections on the columns or sharp edges, although the pillars have sharp edges, which, however, are only effective for multi-row packaging if they penetrate the foil on the floor at the location of the spaces between four bottles. Due to its shape formed from two circular segments the columns are extremely stable and, despite their slimness, are firmly attached to the floor. In doing so, they ensure that empty individual containers are transported back safely and upright within the box.
- projections are arranged on two opposite sides, at least in the foot region, into the inside of the box, the cross-sectional shape of which is formed by a circular segment, the shape of which is similar to that of the circular segments of the columns. In this way, the containers standing on the side walls are secured during individual transport in the same way as the containers standing inside the box.
- the containers have a recessed cylindrical part in the middle.
- this protects the label glued to the back cylindrical surface with any handling
- the shrink film packaging forms near the floor in the space between two adjacent to the carrier unit summarized containers inward receding curves that ensure a particularly safe insertion of the support units in the box.
- the transport and storage box of this packaging consists of two longitudinal side walls 1, two end walls 2 and a bottom which consists of straight webs 3 and circular webs 4 arranged between them, which are carriers of plates 5 which carry hollow columns 6.
- the transport and storage box is with its side walls 1, 2 and its bottom formed from webs 3, 4 together with the plates 5 and Hollow columns 6 made in one piece by injection molding.
- the hollow columns 6 are wide in the direction of the rows of containers 7, which are combined by a shrink film 8 to form a packaging and carrying unit. They have almost a width that corresponds to the diameter of the circular webs 4. In contrast, in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the rows of containers 7, the hollow columns 6 are narrow, they only have half to a quarter of their greatest width. In cross section, they are formed from two circular segments 9. They taper in their upper part and have a hole 10 in the tip. Because of their formation from two shells with a cross-section in the shape of a segment of a circle, the hollow columns have a ridge 11 where the segments of the circle meet, which can be shaped like a cutting edge.
- projections 12 are formed or formed, which are in a row with the row of hollow columns 6. These projections 12 are located in the illustrated embodiment only in the foot area of the container 7 used, because openings 13 in the side walls 1, 2 are intended to leave the view of the goods placed in the box.
- the projections 12 have a bevel 14 at their upper end. This facilitates damage-free Insert the containers packed in shrink wrap 8.
- the hollow columns 6 are located at a place where there is a space between four containers 7.
- the hollow columns 6 hereby define container setting locations 15 which are located either between four hollow columns 6 or between two hollow columns 6 and a side wall 1, 2 or in the area of the corners between a hollow column 6, a longitudinal side wall 1 and an end side wall 2.
- a further thickening 19 can be arranged at the upper end of the container, which not only has the advantage that labels affixed to the cylindrical part 17 are arranged in a particularly protected manner, but also the further advantage that the shrink film also turns inwards here the support unit pulls the rounding and thus provides space for an adjacent hollow column 6.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a package of in-line, placed in a transport box, summarized by a wrapping around them, in which the transport box is provided in its interior with columns attached to its bottom, which taper upwards and spaces for containers between include themselves, and which are arranged in places where there is an intermediate space between four containers inserted into the transport box.
This packaging is known from DE-A-22 24 866.
In addition to the cartons wrapped around the bottles from cardboard blanks, which are particularly suitable for packaging bottles whose necks pass through holes in the carton, shrink wrap packaging has become popular on the market, with which not only bottles but also cylindrical containers in straight rows can be combined to support units (GB-A-969 584). Although this shrink film packaging has a number of advantages compared to the outer cartons - it tightens the containers, they cannot be damaged by moisture, they do not need any imprint, because of their transparency they leave the buyer's eye on the goods or on labels stuck to the goods fall off, labels on the goods are not damaged by them and they are extremely inexpensive - and although the shrink film packaging has been known for as long as the packaging with outer cartons, the technology has not been able to design a transport box in this way, that it can be transported in shrink-wrap containers without damage for transport to the consumer and that the empties can be returned without falling over of individual empties containers even if not all of the spaces in the interior of the box Containers are occupied, as the transport box of DE-PS 22 24 866 is capable of. The reasons for this are that the shrink film packaging is easily damaged during automatic handling in packaging machines if it is inserted into the column-provided transport boxes. Such damage will in most cases render this packaging unusable. While the bottle crate according to DE-PS 22 24 866 is set up by compartments running from side wall to side wall in compartments to accommodate a two-row bottle carrier or two single-row bottle carriers, there are also bottle crates which lack such partition walls and in which the bottle storage spaces are used only by Columns attached to the floor are defined, such as DE-GM 66 00 254 shows. However, these bottle crates are not used for the transport of bottles combined into carrying units by a covering, but only for the transport of individual bottles.
The pillars in such bottle crates have become known in a wide variety of forms. (FR-A-1 255 160) They range from star-shaped shapes to rectangular rounded and oval intermediate shapes to simple cylinders.
The invention avoids the disadvantages of the prior art. It is the object of the invention, the packaging of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it is suitable for support units of preferably cylindrical containers which are held together by a shrink film as a covering.
The invention consists in that the covering of the containers consists of shrink film and that the columns arranged in the transport box have a cross-section which is wide in the direction of the rows of containers combined to form a support unit and which is narrow transversely to this row direction and is formed from two circular segments facing each other that run out at their junction to a ridge.
Die Erfindung besteht weiterhin in der Verwendung eines Transportkastens für den Transport von Behältern gemäß Anspruch 5.The invention further consists in the use of a transport box for the transport of containers according to
This packaging has made it possible to accommodate containers combined by shrink film to form a carrying unit in a transport box which is suitable for the return transport of individually standing containers. The columns, which are very narrow in the direction of the rows, line up with a large width on the outside of the shrink film support units and thus give the packaged containers a firm fit without the shrink film on the outside being damaged by projections on the columns or sharp edges, although the pillars have sharp edges, which, however, are only effective for multi-row packaging if they penetrate the foil on the floor at the location of the spaces between four bottles. Due to its shape formed from two circular segments the columns are extremely stable and, despite their slimness, are firmly attached to the floor. In doing so, they ensure that empty individual containers are transported back safely and upright within the box.
For this firm position of the individual containers in the box, it is expedient if projections are arranged on two opposite sides, at least in the foot region, into the inside of the box, the cross-sectional shape of which is formed by a circular segment, the shape of which is similar to that of the circular segments of the columns. In this way, the containers standing on the side walls are secured during individual transport in the same way as the containers standing inside the box.
There is also the possibility of flattening the circular segments in the middle if this is expedient given the type of container to be transported.
It is particularly advantageous if the containers have a recessed cylindrical part in the middle. On the one hand, this protects the label glued to the back cylindrical surface with any handling, on the other hand, the shrink film packaging forms near the floor in the space between two adjacent to the carrier unit summarized containers inward receding curves that ensure a particularly safe insertion of the support units in the box.

The transport and storage box of this packaging consists of two
The

On two
The
