Die von diesem Handsender abstrahlbaren Ausgangssignale setzen sich im wesentlichen aus einem Codeanteil und einem Aufrechterhaltungsanteil zusammen. Mit dem Codeanteil wird in bekannter Weise eine relativ kurze codierte Nachricht vom Sender zu einem fahrzeugfesten Empfänger übertragen, die es ermöglicht, z. B. eine Zentralverriegelung im Ent- bzw. Verriegelungssinn bereits bzw. noch aus größerer Entfernung vom Fahrzeug zu aktivieren. Der Aufrechterhaltungsanteil, der in den mit einer Komfortschließung ausgestatteten Fahrzeugen zusätzlich das Schließen von nach dem Verlassen des Fahrzeugs noch offenstehenden Fenstern und des Schiebedachs mittels deren elektrischer Antriebe ermöglicht, wird nur und so lange abgestrahlt, wie die Sendetaste des Handsenders ununterbrochen länger als eine vorbestimmte Zeitspanne unmittelbar im Anschluß an die Abstrahlung des verriegelnden Codesignals festgehalten wird, also nur für die erwünschte Dauer der Fenster- oder Schiebedachschließbewegung. Letztere setzt aus Sicherheitsgründen erst nach Verstreichen einer bestimmten Zeitspanne, z. B. 0,25 sec nach Beginn bzw. nach fahrzeugseitigem Empfang des Aufrechterhaltungssignals ein, ebenso wie das notwendige Festhalten der Sendetaste bereits eine Sicherheitsmaßnahme darstellt.
Der Aufrechterhaltungsanteil besteht im einfachsten Fall aus wiederholten Taktimpulsen, die mit gegenüber dem Codesignal unveränderter Intensität bzw. unverändertem Signalpegel in gleichbleibenden Abständen übertragen werden. Die Ausgangsleistung des Handsenders und dessen Reichweite bleibt also gleich (vgl. Fig. 2).
Angesichts verstärkter Bemühungen um die Bediensicherheit von Fahrzeugen insbesondere auch mit derartigen Komfortschließanlagen ist es wünschenswert, die Betätigung der letzteren mittels eines Fernbedienungs-Handsenders nur in einem verhältnismäßig engen räumlichen Bereich um das Fahrzeug zu ermöglichen.The output signals that can be emitted by this hand transmitter essentially consist of a code component and a maintenance component. Er umfaßt neben den nicht dargestellten üblichen Speicher-, Codier- und Energieversorgungsmitteln ein selbsttätig steuerbares Schaltglied 3 mit einem Umschaltkontakt 4 sowie als Signalquelle eine erste Infrarot-Sendediode 5 und eine zweite Infrarot-Sendediode 6, die wechselweise über den Umschaltkontakt 4 ansteuerbar sind. Die erste Infrarot-Sendediode 5 ist hinter einer transparenten Abdeckung 7 im Gehäuse des Handsenders 1 angeordnet, die die von der Sendediode 5 abstrahlbare - und von einem nachgeordneten Empfänger empfangbare - Sende-(Licht-)leistung nicht nennenswert vermindert bzw. dämpft.
Demgegenüber ist die zweite Infrarot-Sendediode 6 hinter einer ebenfalls transparenten, jedoch einen Teil der Sendeleistung absorbierenden Abdeckung 8 angeordnet.
Daher kann selbst bei identischer Auslegung und Leistungsaufnahme der beiden Signalquellen bzw. Sendedioden 5 und 6 die von letzterer abgestrahlte Sendeleistung von einem nachgeordneten Empfänger nur abgeschwächt empfangen werden.
Entsprechend wird das selbsttätig steuerbare Schaltglied 3 genau dann seinen Umschaltkontakt auf die Sendediode 6 umschalten, wenn nach Abstrahlung des in Figur 1 markierten Codesignals bzw. -anteils das leistungs-/reichweitengeminderte Aufrechterhaltungssignal abgestrahlt werden soll.
Dieser Vorgang kann von Programmablauf des Handsenders softwareseitig oder auch rein zeitabhängig über ein Zeitglied (Timer, Clock) gesteuert werden, weil beim vorliegenden Sendertyp die zeitliche Erstreckung des abzustrahlenden Codesignals und damit die Zeitspanne zwischen dem Anfang der Betätigung der Sendetaste 2 und dem Zeitpunkt der Reichweitenumschaltung immer konstant ist. Diese Anordnung wird nun so betrieben, daß auf Aktivierung des Handsenders 1' mittels seiner hier nicht dargestellten Sendetaste hin die Signalquelle 5'' ein Codesignal zum fahrzeugfesten Empfänger 9 abstrahlt. Dieses wird im Steuergerät 10 in der üblichen Weise decodiert und in einen an die Funktion ZV/EDW gerichteten Steuerbefehl umgesetzt. Gleichzeitig aktiviert das Steuergerät nach vollständigem Erhalt eines Codesignals - das natürlich zum fahrzeugseitig gespeicherten Code passen muß - den fahrzeugfesten Sender 11. Dessen mit großer Reichweite abgestrahltes Signal gelangt zum Empfänger 12 des Handsenders 1', welcher daraufhin das Schaltglied 3'' aktiviert (für die Zeitdauer der Betätigung der Sendetaste). Claims (7)
- Method for operating a hand-held transmitter (1,1') for controlling vehicle functions, the hand-held transmitter being able to emit output signals (A, C) for controlling both locking devices and drives, especially sliding roof and window drives, for closing vehicle openings, characterised in that the output signals (A) for controlling the drives are emitted with a lower output power and range than the output signals (C) for controlling the locking devices.
- Method according to Claim 1, in which the hand-held transmitter emits contiguous output signals, when a transmitting key is operated continuously, with a leading code section of limited time duration for controlling the locking devices, and a subsequent maintenance section for controlling the drives, characterised in that the output power which can be received from the transmitter is automatically reduced by switching means once the code section has been emitted.
- Method according to Claim 2, characterised in that the amplitude of pulses in the maintenance section is reduced compared with the amplitude of pulses in the code section.
- Method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the power consumption of a signal source (5'), and hence its output power which can be received, is reduced once the code section has been emitted.
- Method according to Claim 2 or 4, characterised in that, once the code section has been emitted, a change-over is made, by means of a switching element (3; 3'; 3''), which can be controlled automatically, from a first signal source (5) of the hand-held transmitter (1) to a second signal source (6) of the hand-held transmitter, in order to reduce the output power which can be received.
- Method according to Claim 2 or 4 or 5, characterised in that the output power which can be received from the hand-held transmitter can be controlled in a dialogue with a transmitter which is fixed to the vehicle, in that, once the output signals for controlling the locking devices have been received at the vehicle end, the transmitter which is fixed to the vehicle emits a long-range changeover signal, which can be received by the hand-held transmitter, that is provided with a receiver, and can be evaluated by a changeover device, which is inside the transmitter and can be controlled automatically, in order temporarily to reduce the transmitted power which can be received from the hand-held transmitter.
- Method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that, during the emission of the output signals controlling the drives, a suitable filter is switched on, which is selected depending on the type of signal carrier (infrared, ultrasound, radio).
