Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to shorts for the practice of climbing.
Climbing on a cliff, or in a climbing school on rocks or on artificial walls, requires the climber's insurance using a rope, while letting the latter benefit from good freedom of movement . For this purpose, climbers are equipped with shorts ensuring retention only at the level of the thighs and the pelvis.
A pair of shorts includes a belt, as well as two elements surrounding the thighs of the climber, these two elements and the belt being equipped with means for hooking on a rope. In known manner, the belt comprises a part, possibly padded, coming into contact with the body of the climber, and a strap which, of width less than this part, surrounds the latter on which it is fixed by sewing on almost all of its length. The belt of a shorts is closed by overlapping the two ends of the piece coming into contact with the body of the climber, and by closing the strap using a buckle for example. However, the adjustment latitude resulting from the overlapping of the two ends of the central piece is very small, allowing only an adjustment latitude corresponding to one or two belt sizes. As a result, it is appropriate for a climber to buy a pair of shorts that is perfectly suited to his size. This excludes that the climber can lend his shorts to another climber of different size. This is also a problem for climbing schools that provide equipment for climbers, these schools must have a large number of shorts of different sizes.
The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks by providing shorts which can be adapted quickly and easily to a large number of sizes, by adjusting the length of the belt, supplemented by an adjustment, known. in itself, the length of the elements surrounding the thighs.
To this end, the shorts that it concerns, of the type comprising two elements surrounding the thighs and a belt presenting a piece, possibly padded, coming into contact with the climber's body and a strap which, of width less than the padded piece and surrounding this one, is equipped with closing means on itself, is characterized in that the part coming into contact with the body of the climber is made in two parts, a first part on which is fixed the strap on all its length of contact with it, and a second part slidingly mounted on the strap, with the possibility of overlapping the first part, at least at one of the ends of the latter.
When a climber takes a pair of shorts, he just has to put it on, and adjust the overlap of the sliding part mounted on the strap, vis-à-vis the part fixed on the strap until a good length of belt. Once the length of the piece resting on the body has been adjusted, the user just has to close the belt by closing the strap, in the traditional way. According to a characteristic of the invention, the mounting on the strap of the second part of the piece resting on the body of the climber is carried out using loops fixed on this part of the piece, and which are crossed by the strap.
This arrangement gives a significant adjustment latitude of the second part of the part resting on the body of the climber vis-à-vis the first part.
In accordance with another characteristic of the invention, the passers-by are arranged near one end of the second part of the part resting on the body of the climber, and more precisely of the end opposite to that which overlaps the first. part, on the inside side of it.
Advantageously, in their respective overlapping zones, the first and second parts of the part comprise, on their opposite faces, strips of self-gripping material with loops and hooks.
This arrangement makes it possible to fix the first and second parts of the part in their overlapping zones in a simple and rapid manner using strips of self-gripping material, for example such as that known under the brand VELCRO.
This characteristic makes it possible to adjust the length of the belt, while ensuring central and rear positioning of the guide point of the strap connecting the posterior parts of the two elements surrounding the thighs.
- Figure 1 en est une vue en perspective de l'avant ;
- Figure 2 en est une vue en perspective à échelle agrandie, de la partie formant ceinture en position ouverte ;
- Figure 1 is a perspective view from the front;
- Figure 2 is a perspective view on an enlarged scale, of the belt portion in the open position;
- Figures 3 and 4 are two very schematic views from above of the belt in two adjustment positions.
The shorts shown in the drawing include a belt 2, as well as two
The belt 2 comprises, for its part, a part 7 intended to bear against the body of the climber, and a
In accordance with the essential characteristic of the invention, the part 7 coming into contact with the body of the climber comprises two parts, namely a first part 7a on which the
The sliding assembly is carried out by means of two passers-by 14, integral with
Les figures 3 et 4 montrent la ceinture 2 de ce cuissard dans deux positions de serrage, correspondant à deux tailles différentes, la ceinture dans la position représentée à la figure 3 possédant un périmètre inférieur à celui de la position représentée à la figure 4.Figures 3 and 4 show the belt 2 of these shorts in two tightening positions, corresponding to two different sizes, the belt in the position shown in Figure 3 having a perimeter smaller than that of the position shown in Figure 4.
In practice, the user puts on the harness while the
As it goes without saying, the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of these shorts, described above by way of example, on the contrary it embraces all variants. Thus in particular that the means ensuring the guiding of the
