Abstract

A process is described for drying natural gas and for recycling of the water solvent used for this, in which process the natural gas is heated as required and is passed through a contacting device and in which the water solvent is recycled in a distillation device; an apparatus is also described for drying natural gas and for the recycling of the water solvent used for this, comprising a contacting device for natural gas and water solvent and a distillation device provided with a boiling chamber and distillation column, and comprising heating devices, heat exchangers and piping. The aim of the invention is to provide a simple method for drying the natural gas with less expenditure in terms of apparatus and with reduced energy consumption. The invention comprises coupling the process for drying natural gas with the process for recycling the water solvent, the water solvent being used as heat carrier for heating the natural gas, and also comprises the apparatus for heat producers and heat consumers allowing a separate constructional form.
