- the locking element at the filling opening of the lid is merely a splash guard which prevents liquid from splashing out of the drum.
- inverting filter centrifuges it is sometimes advantageous to supply the drum with a pressurized gas (for example superheated steam) in order to increase the hydraulic pressure in the centrifugal field of the drum or to blow the filter cake through for the purpose of drying it or to subject it to steam washing Alternatively, it may also be desirable to pressurize the drum.
- a pressurized gas for example superheated steam
- the filling tube is designed to be retractable from the filling opening of the lid and, when the filling tube is retracted, the filling opening can be closed in a pressure-tight manner by the closure element arranged on the lid and avoiding a frictional connection, or in that a movable closure element is provided which during of the centrifuging process from the inside of the drum is pressure-tight and can be placed over the filling opening of the lid and the end of the filling tube, avoiding a frictional connection.
- the invertible filter centrifuge shown in FIG. 1 comprises a housing 1, which is only indicated schematically and which tightly encloses the entire machine, in which a hollow shaft 3 is rotatably mounted in bearings 4 on a stationary machine frame 2.
- the right-hand end (not shown) of the hollow shaft 3 projecting beyond the bearing 4 is connected to a drive motor (also not shown) via which the hollow shaft 3 can be set in rapid rotation.
- a shaft 5 is arranged in a rotationally fixed but displaceable manner.
- the shaft 5 rotates together with the hollow shaft 3, but is axially displaceable in it.
- a pot-shaped centrifugal drum 7 is flanged with its base 8 on the left end of the hollow shaft 3 in FIG. 1, projecting beyond the bearing 4.

- a centrifugal chamber cover 19 is rigidly fastened via stud bolts 18, leaving a space free, which tightly closes the centrifugal chamber of the drum 7 by resting on its opening edge and together with the bottom part 17 by axially pushing the shaft 5 out of the hollow shaft 3 free of Drum 7 can be lifted off.
- the drum 7 can also be axially displaceable relative to the stationary cover 19 for the same purpose.
- a filling tube 21 is arranged on the left side of the inverting filter centrifuge in FIG. 1, which serves to supply a suspension to be broken down into its solid and liquid components into the centrifugal space of the drum 7.
- the free end of the filling tube 21 is introduced into the interior of the drum through a central filling opening 22 of the cover 19 and, after the drum has been filled, is drawn back into the position shown in FIG.
- the filling opening 22 is formed by a pinch valve 25, which is known per se and is formed by a hose 23 lockable. Via a line 26 penetrating the shaft 5, the stud 18 and the cover 19, the interior of the hose 23 can be filled with a hydraulic or pneumatic pressure medium, as a result of which the pinch valve 25 is closed in a pressure-tight manner. This state is shown in Fig. 2.
- the filling tube 21 in the position shown in FIG. 1 can penetrate into a bore 27 of the shaft 5 through the now opened pinch valve 25 in a space-saving manner.
- the pinch valve 25 is designed so that there is practically no friction between the hose 23 and the filling tube 21 in its open state.
- the pinch valve 25 described can also be replaced by a valve of a different type, for example a ball valve or a slide valve, as long as it is ensured that such a sealing element, which rotates together with the drum 7, closes the drum tightly at the filling opening 22 and, when open, prevents the filling tube 21 from penetrating allowed without friction.
- a valve of a different type for example a ball valve or a slide valve
- the inverting filter centrifuge initially assumes the position shown in FIG. 1.
- the displaceable shaft 5 is retracted into the hollow shaft 3, as a result of which the bottom piece 17 connected to the shaft 5 lies in the vicinity of the bottom 8 of the centrifugal drum 7 and the filter cloth 15 is inserted into the drum in such a way that it lies inside it.
- the centrifugal chamber cover 19 has placed itself tightly on the opening edge of the drum 7.
- the suspension to be filtered is introduced through the filling tube 21 which is pushed through the open pinch valve.
- the pinch valve 25 is closed and the drum is possibly rotated more rapidly.
- the liquid components of the suspension pass through the openings 11 of the drum and are derived from a baffle plate 28.
- the solid particles of the suspension are stopped by the filter cloth 15.
- an overpressure can be generated inside the drum 7 via a line 29 formed in the shaft 5. If necessary, the formation of negative pressure in the interior of the drum is also possible via this line 29. In other cases, the change in the internal pressure in the drum 7 can also be omitted. Nevertheless, it can be important to close the fill opening 22 tightly by means of the pinch valve 25 or another closure element.
- the inverting filter centrifuge After the dropping off of the solid particles under the influence of the centrifugal force, the inverting filter centrifuge is brought back into its operating position according to FIG. 1 by pushing back the shaft 5, the filter cloth 15 turning back in the opposite direction. - the shaft 5 in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 is also designed as a hollow shaft.
- a piston rod-shaped closure element 32 is displaceable into the interior of the drum 7 in such a way that it seals the filling opening 22 from the inside of the drum.
- a line 33 is formed in the closure element 32, with the aid of which a negative or positive pressure can be generated inside the drum 7.
- the closure element 32 can be actuated hydraulically or pneumatically in a manner known per se. In order to produce a pressure-tight closure, the end of the closure element 32 resting on the inside of the centrifugal chamber cover 19 has a seal 34.
- the closure element 32 is formed at its free front end as a sleeve 35, in the interior of which the end of the filling tube 21 protruding into the drum 7 can penetrate.
- FIG. 3 The embodiment of an inverting filter centrifuge according to FIG. 3 works in the same way as previously described with reference to the embodiment according to FIG. 1.
- the filling tube 21 does not need to be pushed back and forth in the embodiment according to FIG. 3, but can be rigidly connected to the machine frame 2 in this respect.
- the closure element 32 is withdrawn (to the right in FIG. 3) so that the opening of the filler tube 21 is exposed.
- the closure element 32 assumes the position shown in FIG. 3.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an inverting filter centrifuge with a drum which is supported in a housing and has radial filter passages, with a cover which closes the free end face thereof, the drum and cover being axially displaceable relative to one another, with a filling opening provided on the cover for suspension to be filtered and with a the filler tube penetrating the filler opening, the filler opening of the cover being closable by a closure element which rotates together with the drum.
In a known inverting filter centrifuge of this type (DE-A 34.30. 507), the locking element at the filling opening of the lid is merely a splash guard which prevents liquid from splashing out of the drum.
In the case of such inverting filter centrifuges, it is sometimes advantageous to supply the drum with a pressurized gas (for example superheated steam) in order to increase the hydraulic pressure in the centrifugal field of the drum or to blow the filter cake through for the purpose of drying it or to subject it to steam washing Alternatively, it may also be desirable to pressurize the drum.
Such a pressure variation in the interior of the drum is not possible with a generic inverting filter centrifuge, since there the filling tube penetrating the filling opening is not sealed in a pressure-tight manner.
It is an object of the invention to improve a generic inverting filter centrifuge so that the centrifugal space enclosed by the drum can be acted upon by overpressure or underpressure.
The object is achieved either in that the filling tube is designed to be retractable from the filling opening of the lid and, when the filling tube is retracted, the filling opening can be closed in a pressure-tight manner by the closure element arranged on the lid and avoiding a frictional connection, or in that a movable closure element is provided which during of the centrifuging process from the inside of the drum is pressure-tight and can be placed over the filling opening of the lid and the end of the filling tube, avoiding a frictional connection.

The invertible filter centrifuge shown in FIG. 1 comprises a
Inside the
A pot-shaped
On the
For this purpose, the free end of the
The filling opening 22 is formed by a
When the
The
In operation, the inverting filter centrifuge initially assumes the position shown in FIG. 1. The
During this process, an overpressure can be generated inside the
After completion of the filtering process, with the
After the dropping off of the solid particles under the influence of the centrifugal force, the inverting filter centrifuge is brought back into its operating position according to FIG. 1 by pushing back the
In Fig. 3 corresponding parts are designated by the same reference numerals as in Fig. 1. In contrast to FIG. 1, the
As shown, the
The embodiment of an inverting filter centrifuge according to FIG. 3 works in the same way as previously described with reference to the embodiment according to FIG. 1. In contrast to FIG. 1, the
