Aus der DE-OS 32 02 645 ist es bekannt, zum Abdichten des Verschlusses der Einfüllöffnung eines Kokstrockenkühlers eine Tauchdichtung zu benutzen. Dabei sind am unteren Rand des Deckels Kantbleche angeordnet, die beim Aufsetzen des Deckels auf die Öffnung mit ihrem freien Ende in die Tauchdichtung eingeführt werden. Das gegenüberliegende Ende des Kantbleches ist derart umgekantet, daß eine freie Kante entsteht, die sich auf den Rand der Einfüllöffnung auflegt. In ähnlicher Weise ist das aus der DE-OS 30 03 374 bekannte Verschlußorgan ausgebildet, das aus einer Platte besteht, die auf ihrem Umfang mit einer nach unten gerichteten Leiste versehen ist, die in eine mit Wasser oder Sand gefüllte Tauchtasse eingreift. Dabei erfolgt die Fixierung der Halterung an dem Dichtkörper erfindungsgemäß in einer Stellung, in der nach dem Auflegen des Deckels auf die Schachtöffnung zwischen den Dichtflächen der inneren Dichtelemente ein Spalt mit einer Höhe von etwa 1 bis 5 mm verbleibt, während die Pakkungen der Weichstoffdichtung mit einem die vollständige Abdichtung gewährleistenden Andruck an der Dichtfläche anliegen. Zusätzlich zu dem Eigengewicht des Deckels können auf die Weichstoffdichtung Kräfte einwirken, durch die die Packungen gegen die Dichtfläche gedrückt werden.
