- the contact strip has consecutive contact bulges produced by embossing over its entire length. This makes the contact strip extremely stiff on the one hand, so that it e.g. can no longer adapt to the inevitable deformations of the associated wall element as a result of manufacturing inaccuracies, which can make the plugging in of the contact strip very difficult under certain circumstances.
- the number of contact points with the adjacent wall element is very high, so that e.g.
- the invention first makes use of the knowledge that shielding that is immune to interference does not require gapless contact or a very dense arrangement of the contact areas. Rather, larger gaps, the size of which depends on the type of electromagnetic interference to be shielded, are harmless between the contact areas.
- the inventive design and arrangement of the contact tongues results in a very flexible contact strip which easily adapts to deformations of the wall element without the interference radiation shielding being noticeably deteriorated.
- the design and arrangement of the clamp elements according to the invention does not result in excessive stiffness in this area either.
- the frictional forces caused by the contact tongues on the one hand and the clamp elements on the other hand are less dependent on manufacturing inaccuracies or on the surface condition of the wall elements compared to the known solution.
- the contact tongues can be produced in a simple manner by a single stamping and bending process.
- the clip elements are preferably formed in one piece with the contact strip; they can also be made by a single stamping and bending process with a suitable tool in one step with the manufacture of the contact tongues.
- the suitable distances between the contact tongues can be determined in a known manner from the properties of the given interference radiation to be shielded.
- the clamp elements are each provided with locking recesses for locking with locking projections formed on the edge web.
- the latching recesses engage automatically when the contact strip is plugged onto the edge web and on the one hand ensure precise alignment of the contact strip on the edge web and on the other hand ensure that the contact strip is firmly held.

- the bending edge between the first leg and the second leg forms a linear contact zone lying against the contact surface of the adjacent wall element.
- the longitudinal edge of the contact strip facing away from the clamp elements is bent towards the side of the clamp elements. This design ensures that this longitudinal edge does not get caught with the associated adjacent wall element when a circuit board is inserted and thus when a wall element is positioned between existing wall elements.
- the contact tongues are each provided with a recess which reduces the material cross section in the region of the bending edge.
- the remaining material cross section and thus the spring force of the contact tongues can be determined by a suitable choice of the dimensions of this recess.
- Fig. 1 shows a perspective view, Fig. 2 in a cross section a wall element 2, which is intended to be attached to an edge of a circuit board 4, as can be seen in particular Fig. 2.

- a hole 12 formed at the upper end of the wall element 2 serves in a manner not shown for fastening the wall element to a device chassis.
- an edge web 14 is formed which is bent substantially at right angles to the wall element plane and onto which a contact strip 16 can be clamped.
- the contact strip 16 lies on the outside 18 of the edge web 14 facing the adjacent wall element 6. It is provided with clamp elements 20 which overlap the free edge 22 of the edge web and hold the contact strip 16 on the edge web 14.
- the clamp elements 20 are formed in one piece with the contact strip 16 and are produced, for example, by a stamping and bending process.
- the contact strip has a series of contact tongues 24 punched out of the contact strip wall and bent out of the contact strip plane. As shown in FIG. 2 in particular, these contact tongues 24 each contact contact surfaces 26 of an adjacent wall element. As particularly shown in FIG. 3, the Contact tongues 24 in longitudinal section approximately the shape of an obtuse-angled hook with a first leg 28 bent out of the contact strip level and a subsequent leg 30 bent back to the contact strip level. The bending edge 32 between the first leg 28 and the second leg 30 forms a linear contact zone.
- the contact tongues 24 are each provided with a recess 34, which reduces the material cross section in the region of the bending edge 36 of the first leg 28 and thus the spring force of the contact tongue.
- the longitudinal edge 38 of the contact strip facing away from the clamp elements 20 is to the side of the clamp elements 20, i.e. thus beveled towards the outside 18 of the edge web 14, so that the contact strip cannot get caught on the contact surface 26 of the adjacent wall element 6 when the wall element 2 is being fitted.

Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kontaktleiste der im Oberbegriff des Anspruches 1 genannten Art.The invention relates to a contact strip of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.
It is a common technique to provide circuit boards at one edge with a wall element which is transverse to the plane of the board, the wall elements of a plurality of circuit boards inserted next to one another complementing one another to form a more or less closed end wall. The wall elements are either closed surfaces or they are provided with plug elements via which the respective circuit boards can be electrically connected to external devices. So that the wall formed from the wall elements is sealed against electromagnetic interference radiation, the individual wall elements must be connected to one another in an electrically conductive manner.
It is already known to arrange on the longitudinal edges of the wall elements each projecting over these longitudinal edges resilient contact plates which come into contact with contact plates of adjacent wall elements. In this construction, a contact plate is attached to each side edge of a wall element facing an adjacent wall element, which makes this solution complex and expensive.
It is also known from DD-C-200 252 to fasten a contact strip according to the preamble of claim 1 with projecting contact projections, which abut against a contact surface formed on the adjacent wall element, in each case on an essentially right-angled edge web of a wall element. The contact strip has consecutive contact bulges produced by embossing over its entire length. This makes the contact strip extremely stiff on the one hand, so that it e.g. can no longer adapt to the inevitable deformations of the associated wall element as a result of manufacturing inaccuracies, which can make the plugging in of the contact strip very difficult under certain circumstances. In addition, the number of contact points with the adjacent wall element is very high, so that e.g. it is often difficult to insert the contact strip between two adjacent wall elements. Another disadvantage is seen in the fact that the contact strip is bent like a clamp over its entire length. This feature also leads to the contact strip becoming very stiff, so that the difficulties described are exacerbated. The clamp device itself, due to the large clamp area, requires even small over-thicknesses of the wall element or e.g. with rust, great forces when plugging onto the wall element.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a contact strip of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1, which is very simple in terms of production technology and assembly technology and thus inexpensive and which is also suitable for production-related or for example inaccuracies of the wall elements caused by rust or the like do not require excessive forces during assembly.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features contained in claim 1.
The invention first makes use of the knowledge that shielding that is immune to interference does not require gapless contact or a very dense arrangement of the contact areas. Rather, larger gaps, the size of which depends on the type of electromagnetic interference to be shielded, are harmless between the contact areas.
In contrast to the known embossed design, the inventive design and arrangement of the contact tongues results in a very flexible contact strip which easily adapts to deformations of the wall element without the interference radiation shielding being noticeably deteriorated. The design and arrangement of the clamp elements according to the invention does not result in excessive stiffness in this area either. In addition, the frictional forces caused by the contact tongues on the one hand and the clamp elements on the other hand are less dependent on manufacturing inaccuracies or on the surface condition of the wall elements compared to the known solution.
The contact tongues can be produced in a simple manner by a single stamping and bending process.
The clip elements are preferably formed in one piece with the contact strip; they can also be made by a single stamping and bending process with a suitable tool in one step with the manufacture of the contact tongues.
The suitable distances between the contact tongues can be determined in a known manner from the properties of the given interference radiation to be shielded.
In order to ensure a good hold of the contact strip on the edge web, it is further provided according to the invention that the clamp elements are each provided with locking recesses for locking with locking projections formed on the edge web. The latching recesses engage automatically when the contact strip is plugged onto the edge web and on the one hand ensure precise alignment of the contact strip on the edge web and on the other hand ensure that the contact strip is firmly held.
In longitudinal section, the contact tongues preferably have approximately the shape of an obtuse-angled hook with a first leg bent out of the contact strip level and a subsequent leg bent back in the direction of the contact strip level. The bending edge between the first leg and the second leg forms a linear contact zone lying against the contact surface of the adjacent wall element.
In addition, it is provided according to the invention that the longitudinal edge of the contact strip facing away from the clamp elements is bent towards the side of the clamp elements. This design ensures that this longitudinal edge does not get caught with the associated adjacent wall element when a circuit board is inserted and thus when a wall element is positioned between existing wall elements.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the contact tongues are each provided with a recess which reduces the material cross section in the region of the bending edge. The remaining material cross section and thus the spring force of the contact tongues can be determined by a suitable choice of the dimensions of this recess.
