Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a disc roller for roller hearth furnaces, with a rotatable, internally coolable support tube, a plurality of axially spaced apart on the support tube, fixedly connected to this and an insulation surrounding the support tube next to the discs. Such disc rollers have proven themselves in practice. They represent inexpensive roller constructions and are suitable for high-temperature operation, and thanks to the insulation they work with low heat losses.
In known disc rollers of this type (DE-C-37 40 620), the discs are supported directly on the support tube, and they are usually welded to it. This leads to an abrupt jump in temperature at the transitions between the discs and the support tube. Welding cracks can occur. There is also a risk that the disc rollers will warp when removed from the hot oven.
Accordingly, the invention has for its object to provide a disc roller of the type mentioned, which has improved thermal properties.
To achieve this object, the disc roller according to the invention is characterized in that each disc is seated on two lateral support devices which are supported on the support tube and are connected to the associated disks by axial bolts, at least one of the two support devices being firmly connected to the support tube is.
So there is no direct heat flow between the discs and the support tube. Rather, the heat is forced to pass through the support structures. The latter are connected to the associated washers by bolts. There is therefore no risk of weld seam cracks on the panes, which is particularly important if the panes are made of a special material. Overall, those according to the invention prove to be Disc rollers are particularly resistant to high temperatures, even when there are abrupt changes in temperature, for example when removing them from the hot oven or when switching in the cooling system.
Another significant advantage is that the temperature gradient between the material to be treated and the panes is reduced. This largely reduces the formation of heat shadows in the material to be treated.
According to the invention, a cavity is created between each disc and the support tube, which reduces the direct heat transfer. This advantageous effect can also be extended to the heat transfer between the disks and the bolts, in accordance with the invention in that the disks each have at least two circumferential webs penetrated by the bolts on their inner circumference.
With the size and shape of the cavity between the support tube and the respective disc, the outflow of heat can be controlled. Another possibility in this regard according to the invention is that the space between the support devices, the associated disk and the support tube is filled with insulating material.
In any case, the surface temperature of the disc roll can be controlled according to the invention so that it assumes a desired value which is below the furnace temperature and which takes into account the aspects of pimple formation and the temperature uniformity of the material to be heated.
According to a particularly advantageous feature of the invention, the disks each consist of at least two segments adjoining one another in the circumferential direction. This simplifies the manufacture of the high-temperature-resistant panes and works has a positive impact on the maintenance and repair of the roller hearth furnace. Such a division of the panes is indispensable if the two respective associated support devices are inseparably connected to the support tube and a subsequent assembly or replacement of the associated pane is nevertheless to take place.
The invention also offers the structurally advantageous possibility that the support devices each consist of flange segments.
According to a further preferred feature, the disc roller according to the invention is characterized in that the support devices which are firmly connected to the support tube are each welded to a holder which is screwed to the support tube. This not only simplifies all assembly and disassembly work, but also eliminates any direct welded connections to the support tube.

The disc roller according to the invention comprises a
Each
The
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in that the
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, two
The latter is not the case in the embodiment according to FIG. 5. Here, the two
Furthermore, the embodiment according to FIG. 5 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 to 4 in that the
Within the scope of the invention, modification options are readily available. For example, the support of the disks on the support devices can be designed differently, for example in such a way that the support devices form shoulders into which the disks engage. The bolts can also be screwed in, secured with split pins or held by nuts. The disks can consist of a large number of segments. The same applies to the supporting devices. There is no restriction on the number of ridges that are provided on the inner circumference of the disks. As insulation material for the cavity Any suitable material can be used within the panes. The cavity can also produce a sufficient effect alone without being filled with insulating material.
