Abstract

Rail-type holding means, arranged trapezoidally and extending obliquely, are arranged on two opposite side walls (2, 3) of a rectangular carrying crate (1), which holding means are constructed on the outside of one side wall (2) as obliquely extending holding grooves (12) and on the outside of the other side wall (3) as obliquely extending holding rails (13). Two carrying crates (1) can thus be joined by fitting the holding means (12, 13) together to form a carrying unit. Since the holding means (12, 13) are integrated in the side walls (2, 3) of the carrying crates (1), no additional means are required to form carrying units from several carrying crates (1). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a transport box with a device for releasably connecting at least two rectangular transport boxes for a number of packs, in particular bottles and containers for liquids, the transport boxes being provided with a bottom and side walls, the latter enclosing an upward opening.

The invention lies in the field of transport and storage for small packs of the same format, volume and weight, of which a certain number must be transported and stored. An extensive field of application for such small packs is bottles and other containers for liquids, for the transportation of which bottle crates have become common, which are used in various standard sizes and can each hold a certain number of packs in their compartments.

If the packs exceed a certain size and a certain weight, the total weight of a bottle crate may exceed the dimensions at which manual handling is still possible even for inexperienced and not particularly strong people. For the transport of such heavy-weight transport boxes, the transport can be handled with mechanical and mechanical means without any problems, but problems arise for the small user, which the manual handling of such transport boxes by inexperienced and especially strong people make it difficult or impossible.

Although it is known to have special transport boxes of smaller dimensions available for the small user, this means an additional outlay, since it is necessary to repack the small packs into the smaller transport boxes. However, if one wants to do without repacking, additional means are required to combine such bottle crates of smaller dimensions in order to obtain larger transport units which have to be detached again at the place of use.

It is further known (US-A-4 328 902) to arrange on the outside of two opposite side walls of each transport box, at least approximately parallel to the side walls, oblique holding rails, the holding rails being pluggable, so that a positive connection of the two transport boxes arises. Because the connecting means are integrated in the transport boxes, they can be put together as desired, which optimally meets both the needs of transporting large units and those of the small user.

The invention has for its object to design a transport box with a device of the type described above so that smaller transport boxes can be combined in a solid and easily detachable manner to larger transport units without additional resources.

This object is achieved by a transport box with the features of claim 1.

The rectangular bottle crate 1 shown in FIG. 1 has longitudinal walls 2, 3 and transverse walls 4, 5 placed on a floor that is not visible, which walls enclose an upward opening 6. Reinforced corner pillars are provided on the corner parts of the bottle crate 1, of which the corner pillars visible in FIG. 1 are designated by 7, 8, 9 and the invisible corner pillars by 10.

On the outside of the longitudinal walls 2, 3, means for releasably connecting the transport box 1 to a subsequent identical transport box are provided in the area of the corner columns 7-10. These means are in the area of the columns 7-10 in the longitudinal walls 2, 3 integrated, as will be explained with reference to the description of FIGS. 2-5.

As can be seen from Fig. 1, in the longitudinal wall 2, to the corner columns 8, 9 adjoining holders 12 are incorporated, which extend obliquely over the height of the longitudinal wall 2 and approach each other in the direction of the floor. Together with the free edge of the longitudinal wall 2 at the opening 6 and with the edge of the floor, the two holders 12 form an upside down trapezoid.

On the outside of the longitudinal wall 3 12 retaining webs 13 are formed as complementary elements to the holders, which also extend over the height of the longitudinal wall 3 and approach each other against the ground.

With at least two transport boxes, which have 2 holders 12 on the outside of the longitudinal wall and 3 holding webs 13 on the outside of the longitudinal wall, a transport unit can be put together if the holding webs 13 of one transport box are inserted into the holders 12 of the other transport box, but with Can be separated again into the individual transport boxes as required. The holders 12 form with the holding webs 13 a positive, hook-shaped connection extending over the height of the longitudinal walls 2, 3, with which the two transport boxes are reliably held together.

The transport box shown in Fig. 1 has further features that are not related to the above-described means for releasably connecting two transport boxes. The bottle crate 1 is a transport crate made of plastic; the transverse and longitudinal walls 2-5 set back compared to the reinforced corner pillars 7-10 have windows 15 and web-shaped reinforcements 16 in the area of the upper opening edge. A compartment 17 is indicated in the interior of the transport box 1, but the interior can be solved in various ways. In the middle of the transport box, a handle 20 is provided, which is fastened to the bottom of the transport box 1 by means of arms 21. The size of the transport box can also be selected differently. For example, six one-liter bottles can be accommodated in a transport box, three bottles being accommodated on each side of the handle. This transport box is a handy device with which the manual transport can be carried out without difficulty in terms of both its weight and its dimensions. Any number of transport boxes can be put together for mechanical and mechanical transport.

-steg in der gleichen Richtung verlaufen.2-5, the means for releasably connecting two transport boxes are shown in different variants, only the region of a longitudinal wall 2 of one transport box A being shown with the longitudinal wall 3 of the second transport box B. It is assumed here that the holders 12 and the holding webs 13 form part of an upside down trapezoid. In principle, the arrangement of the holders 12 and the holding webs 13 in the form of a standing trapezoid is also conceivable. The application of one or the other arrangement depends primarily on the shape of the transport box. If corner pillars 7-10 are provided with increasing reinforcement towards the floor, the arrangement of the brackets and webs 12, 13 in the form of the inverted trapezoid is appropriate since the corner pillar and brackets then run in the same direction.

In the arrangement in FIG. 2, the holding grooves 12 are directed outwards, the holding surface 11 of the holding groove 12 interacting with the holding surface 14 of the holding webs 13 directed inward. The holding surfaces 11, 14 here form a hook which forms the positive connection. This hooking is also present in the other variants according to FIGS. 2-5.

In the variant according to FIG. 3, the holders 12 and the holding webs 13 are arranged in the same way as in FIG. 2. There is only the difference that the holding surfaces 11, 14 of the holding webs and grooves extend on both sides of the vertical contact plane 25 of the transport boxes A, B, as a result of which the holding webs 13 projecting over their entire length in FIG. 2 are only half opposite the surfaces the corner pillars 7, 10 protrude.

In the variant according to FIG. 4, the holding surfaces 11 of the holders 12 are directed towards one another, while the holding webs 13 are directed outwards. This is the solution that is also shown in FIG. 1. So that the transport box B can be separated from the transport box A by lifting, the holding web is widened towards the opening edge to such an extent that the part of the holding webs near the ground can be extended. The boundary surface 18, as can also be seen in FIG. 1, runs essentially vertically, so that the holding groove 12 widens upwards. However, it would also be possible to form the boundary surface 18 with the corresponding wall section along the dashed line in FIG. 4, so that the two holders unite. Then it would also be possible to unite the two holding webs 13 in this free space by a wall section along the dashed line 19. This is the solution as it is realized in Fig. 5.

A, B are relatively thin-walled, for example made of a metallic material or a plastic. In the transport box A, the longitudinal wall 2 is a plate of the same wall thickness, at the ends of which the holding surfaces 11 are formed as part of a hook-shaped extension 22 of the transverse walls 4, 5. The holding surfaces 14 are provided here at the ends of the longitudinal wall 3 of the transport box B. 5, the hook-shaped, positive connection of the holding webs with the holding channel 12, 13 can be clearly seen. However, this hook-shaped connection is also present in FIGS. 2-4, even if the hook shape is not so clearly recognizable there.

The described detachable connection between two transport boxes A, B results in a solid connection. When assembling, however, it must be ensured that the inclined retaining webs and channels 12, 13 do not collide so far that they form a strong frictional connection. To avoid this, a boundary surface 23 is provided near the bottom at the end of the holding groove, on which the end face of the holding webs abuts.

The holders 12 do not weaken the box structure, since it is arranged in the area of the reinforced corner pillars 7-10. The corner pillars 7-10 can nevertheless be designed such that the filled transport boxes can also be stacked.
