Definitions
- the invention relates to a wet and dry vacuum cleaner with a collecting container for contaminated liquid, a suction unit for generating a suction pressure in the collecting container and with a suction line leading from a suction nozzle to the collecting container.
- the wet and dry vacuum cleaners of this type are suitable for absorbing both contaminated liquid and dry dust.
- the conversions on the device itself are annoying for the operator, and these conversions are often omitted, so that, with appropriate operation, performance reductions and even destruction, for example of a paper filter bag by liquid, can result.
- a wet and dry vacuum cleaner of the type described at the outset in that a chamber is arranged for dry vacuuming in which the suction line opens on the suction nozzle side and from which the suction line emerges again on the collecting container side, and in that an air-permeable one in the chamber and a dustproof filter bag is arranged, into which the suction line opens on the suction nozzle side.
- the cross section of the suction line is covered with a microfilter when the suction line exits the chamber. This ensures that no dust-like particles are sucked out of the chamber through the suction line, so that the suction unit is absolutely protected from dust particles.
- the chamber can have an airtight sealable cover, which in the open state enables access to the interior of the chamber. Since the filter bag is usually held detachably at the end of the suction line, the filter bag can be removed when it is filled and replaced with an empty filter bag.
- suction line is designed as a rigid tube in the region adjoining the chamber on both sides.
- the suction line can have a detachable connection in the area between the chamber and the collecting container, which connection is preferably arranged in the tubular part of the suction line between the chamber and a handle for displacing the structural unit consisting of suction nozzle, tubular suction line and chamber.
- This assembly guided by the operator over the surface to be cleaned can thus be removed in a simple manner by loosening this connection and replaced by another assembly, so that the transition from the wet suction function to the dry suction function can be accomplished by this single action.
- the wet and dry vacuum cleaner comprises, in a manner known per se, a dirt container which is sealed off from the outside and connected to a suction unit, by means of which a suction pressure is built up in the collecting container.
- a suction line opens into the collecting container, which is connected to the attachment shown in the drawing.
- This front attachment comprises a tubular suction line 1, which connects a floor suction nozzle 2 with a suction hose, not shown in the drawing, which leads to the collecting container.
- the tubular suction line has at its upper end a bend 3 to which the suction hose can be connected.
- a handle 4 at the upper end of the tubular suction line 1, so that the suction nozzle 2 can be guided by means of this handle 4 over the tubular suction line 1 over the surface to be cleaned.
- a chamber 5 which extends over a considerable part of this tubular suction line 1, is switched into the tubular suction line 1. It is an essentially cuboid chamber which is sealed airtight by means of a cover 6 which extends over its entire length. The lid is removable and can be closed in its closed position by means of latch 7 known per se (FIG. 2).
- the tubular suction line 1 enters the interior of the chamber 5 on the suction nozzle side in the form of a pipe socket 8, at the opposite end of the chamber 5 the suction line 1 also forms a pipe socket 9 which protrudes slightly into the chamber 5.
- a filter bag 10 for example a conventional paper filter bag, which is pushed onto the pipe socket 8 in a sealed manner, is arranged in the interior of the chamber 5 in between.
- the cross section of the pipe socket 9 is covered by a plate-shaped microfilter 11 which extends over the entire cross section of the chamber 5 and is detachably fastened in the chamber 5 in a suitable holder (not shown in the drawing).
- another attachment can be used, for example a continuous suction line, not shown in the drawing, which is connected to a suction nozzle for wet operation.
- the attachment shown in the drawing is used for dry vacuum operation.
- a negative pressure is generated in the interior of the chamber 5 via the suction line 1, so that air is drawn in from the surroundings via the suction nozzle 2, which air enters the filter bag 10 and passes through it.
- Any entrained dust particles are collected in the filter bag.
- Any fine dust passing through the filter bag is additionally retained in the microfilter 11, so that an air stream cleaned of dust particles of any size enters the collecting container-side section of the suction line 1.
- the filter bag 10 can be removed when it is filled, for this purpose the lid 6 is opened.
- suction nozzle 2 If the operator wants to switch to wet suction, it is sufficient to separate the component consisting of suction nozzle 2, suction line 1 and chamber 5 by loosening the connection 12 from the manifold-near suction line part and the handle, at this point a wet suction attachment can then be connected, which in the described manner only has a continuous suction pipe and a wet suction nozzle. Further conversions or conversions of the wet and dry vacuum cleaner are not necessary for the transition from dry vacuuming to wet vacuuming.
- the tubular suction line 1 extends obliquely from the suction nozzle 2 up to the handle 4, so that a rigid, easy-to-use unit is formed, which also includes the chamber 5 integrated into the suction pipe.
- the chamber with the filter bag is not very heavy, ie the handling of this unit is not seriously hampered by the arrangement of the chamber and the filter in the suction pipe. It is particularly advantageous that no heavy suction units or similar machine parts are necessary in the chamber, since the suction air flow is generated in the wet and dry vacuum cleaner, which can be arranged stationary or guided on rollers. Only the dry dust collector is located in the chamber.

Description
The invention relates to a wet and dry vacuum cleaner with a collecting container for contaminated liquid, a suction unit for generating a suction pressure in the collecting container and with a suction line leading from a suction nozzle to the collecting container.
The wet and dry vacuum cleaners of this type are suitable for absorbing both contaminated liquid and dry dust. However, it is usually not possible to use both operating modes at the same time. Rather, with most devices it is necessary to carry out conversions on the device itself and to replace the accessories for optimal dry operation and for optimal wet operation. In particular, the conversions on the device itself are annoying for the operator, and these conversions are often omitted, so that, with appropriate operation, performance reductions and even destruction, for example of a paper filter bag by liquid, can result. It is an object of the invention to design a generic wet and dry vacuum cleaner so that it can be used for either wet or dry vacuuming, with only the suction accessories corresponding to the changeover must be selected without making any changes to the device itself.
This object is achieved according to the invention in a wet and dry vacuum cleaner of the type described at the outset in that a chamber is arranged for dry vacuuming in which the suction line opens on the suction nozzle side and from which the suction line emerges again on the collecting container side, and in that an air-permeable one in the chamber and a dustproof filter bag is arranged, into which the suction line opens on the suction nozzle side.
Trockensaugung. It is therefore envisaged to use a special attachment for dry vacuuming, which contains a dust filter switched on in the suction line. This leads to the fact that absorbed dry dust is held in this filter bag so that the dry dust does not get into the collecting container and thus not into the actual suction device. Any malfunctions of the suction device are therefore excluded. For wet suction, it is sufficient to connect a corresponding wet suction nozzle to the suction line instead of the unit consisting of the suction nozzle, suction line and filter bag chamber. Since different floor suction nozzles have to be used for the absorption of liquids and dry dust anyway, this replacement is a normal, insignificant activity. With this floor nozzle replacement, the vacuum cleaner is inevitably converted to wet or dry suction.
Am Gerät selbst sind keinerlei Veränderungen notwendig. No changes are necessary on the device itself.
It can additionally be provided that the cross section of the suction line is covered with a microfilter when the suction line exits the chamber. This ensures that no dust-like particles are sucked out of the chamber through the suction line, so that the suction unit is absolutely protected from dust particles.
The chamber can have an airtight sealable cover, which in the open state enables access to the interior of the chamber. Since the filter bag is usually held detachably at the end of the suction line, the filter bag can be removed when it is filled and replaced with an empty filter bag.
It is expedient if the suction line is designed as a rigid tube in the region adjoining the chamber on both sides.
The suction line can have a detachable connection in the area between the chamber and the collecting container, which connection is preferably arranged in the tubular part of the suction line between the chamber and a handle for displacing the structural unit consisting of suction nozzle, tubular suction line and chamber. This assembly guided by the operator over the surface to be cleaned can thus be removed in a simple manner by loosening this connection and replaced by another assembly, so that the transition from the wet suction function to the dry suction function can be accomplished by this single action.

In the drawing, only one attachment is shown of the wet and dry vacuum cleaner, which is suitable for picking up dry dust. The wet and dry vacuum cleaner comprises, in a manner known per se, a dirt container which is sealed off from the outside and connected to a suction unit, by means of which a suction pressure is built up in the collecting container. A suction line opens into the collecting container, which is connected to the attachment shown in the drawing.
This front attachment comprises a
The
Between the
In the operation of the wet and dry vacuum cleaner, the attachment shown in the drawing is used for dry vacuum operation. A negative pressure is generated in the interior of the
If the operator wants to switch to wet suction, it is sufficient to separate the component consisting of
As shown in Fig. 1, the
