Abstract

It comprises a hollow cylindrical body (1), fitted with lower base (4) with swivelling wheels and an upper base which includes a table-top formed by two sectors of a circle (2) which define two openings (3) in the form of sectors of a circle.
Inside the hollow body (1) is a platform (4), giratory around a central column (5), on which are fitted means for the placing and holding of articles and objects.
It can be used as a cocktail cabinet properly speaking and as a table.

Description

  • The present invention refers to a cocktail cabinet whose characteristics confer upon it a plurality of uses.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • It is known in the art for cocktail bars to be laid out in the form of a cupboard, fitted with compartments and means for storing bottles, tumblers and glasses. This type of cocktail furniture has the disadvantage of having only one application, which is as a piece of furniture for holding bottles, tumblers and glasses. Consumption of the drinks contained in the piece of furniture requires a table on which to lay places for consumers.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Thanks to the cocktail cabinet of the invention, a cocktail cabinet properly speaking and a table for comfortably using the articles contained in it have been put together in only one member.
  • The cocktail cabinet in question is characterized in that it comprises a hollow body fitted with a lower base with means of support upon the floor, advantageously swivelling wheels, which body has an upper base which constitutes the top board of a table, which has large openings, both in the table top itself and in the side walls which provide access to the interior of the hollow body, in which is fitted a giratory lower platform, in which there are means for setting up and holding the articles and objects which the piece of furniture contains.
  • The piece of furniture is advantageously of cylindrical shape, with upper base consisting of a board formed by two opposing circle sectors which alternate with two openings also in the form of sectors of a circle, which are continued in the lateral walls of the piece of furniture, as long as the giratory platform is of circular shape and turns around a central spindle.
  • More specifically, the giratory platform is fitted with a central column which reaches up as far as the lower side of the table-top of the furniture, which column turns with the platform, having attached to it radial arms attached to shelving or brackets on which to set the articles to be placed inside the furniture.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • For a better understanding of all that is described in the present specification, some drawings are attached in which, solely by way of illustration, a practical example of embodiment of the cocktail cabinet is shown.
  • In that drawing figure 1 is a perspective view of the cocktail cabinet; figure 2 is a side elevation view; and figure 3 is a longitudinal section detail of the column.
  • DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • The cocktail cabinet described consists in the drawings of a hollow body of general reference 1, of cylindrical shape, of greater diameter than height, fitted with swivelling wheels 2.
  • The upper base of the cabinet consists of a board formed by two opposing circle sectors 2 which alter nate with two openings 3 also in the form of sectors of a circle, which are prolonged into the lateral walls of the cabinet.
  • Near the lower base of the cabinet is situated a giratory platform 4, of diameter slightly smaller than the base of the cabinet, which turns around a central column 5 inside which is hidden a bar 6 which constitutes the turning spindle of the platform 4.
  • From the column 5 there emerge radial arms 7 attached to shelves or brackets 8 suitable for setting bottles of drinks, tumblers or glasses.
  • As emerges from all that has been described and from observation of the drawings, the cocktail cabinet permits drinks, glasses, tumblers and other complements to be set down in it, with the advantage of being able to use the sectors 2 as a table for comfortable consumption of drinks and other foodstuffs. Furthermore, whatever the position of users around the table, the giratory platform permits the objects on the shelves 8 and on the platform 4 itself to be placed within reach of them.
  • The platform 4 may of course be used to keep smokers' articles, magazines, books, decorative complements and, in general, all those objects usually put on low tables.
