The present invention relates to a fixed curtain suspension part, which comprises a sliding support part (2), movable on a curtain support rail such as an I-profile rail and made of plastic or similar material , and in which is incorporated a two-legged claw structure or a roller suspension structure, in which the lower part is provided with a wedge (9) and a two-legged section (2), the ends of which (12, 13) are pressed against the wedge (9) and whose lower ends have clamping jaws (7, 8) clamping the material of the curtain under the action of the force exerted by the wedge (9), which is placed between the upper ends (12, 13). The wedge (9) has a toothed structure, so as to prevent the upper ends (12, 13) of the two-legged section from sliding upwards when it is in the clamping position and further comprises connecting strips ( 14, 15) which join the sliding support (2) to the two-legged section (3).

Description

CURTAIN HANGING FIXTURE
The present invention relates to a curtain hanging fixture comprising a carrier slide part, which is movable on a curtain supporting track such as a standard I-beam track, and made of plastic or like material, incorporating either a bifurcated claw construction or a roller-type suspension structure, in which the lower part consists of a wedge and a bifurcated section, whose upper ends are seated against the wedge and whose lower ends have grasping jaws, which grip the curtain material under the force exerted by the wedge.
The object of the invention is to disclose a novel con¬ struction for a simple and, consequently, cost-effective curtain hanging fixture featuring both easy placement onto the curtain track as well as an uncomplicated method for securing the curtain. The curtain hanging fixture in accordance with the invention is characterized by having a wedge with a toothed construction such that it prevents the upper ends of the bifurcated section from slipping upwards along the wedge, and having bands which connect the glide carrier part of the fixture with the bifurcated part. By means of the invention, the curtain material is firmly secured between the jaws of the fixture. If the curtain is pulled downward while being moved along the track, the wedge is respectively driven deeper between the upper ends of the bifurcated lever arms, thus effecting a tighter grip on the curtain by the jaws.
The tapering surfaces of the wedge are provided with toothing and the upper ends of the bifurcated lever arms have correspondingly shaped sharp ends, capable of mating with the toothing. Consequently, the wedge seated between the upper ends of the arms cannot slip free from its driven position during curtain use or mounting into the fixture.
The glide carrier part of the fixture is joined by thin, flexible connecting bands to the lever arms. Thus, the glide carrier part and the bifurcated part (curtain secur¬ ing section) are integrally held together, which allows for a straightforward manufacturing process of the fixture by use of a single tool.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention includes a lateral step or mold seam displacement on the internal gripping surfaces of the wedge and the upper ends of the lever arms that prevents the parts from slipping laterally in relation to each other. Consequently, even in the lateral direction, the wedge will remain firmly seated between the upper ends of the lever arms, regardless of lateral forces.
The invention is next examined in detail with help of an exemplifying embodiment illustrated in the attached set of figures, where
Figure 1 shows a curtain hanging fixture.
Figure 2 shows the same curtain hanging fixture as Fig. 1 with the wedge partly driven between the upper ends of the lever arms.
Figure 3 is a sectional view of Fig. 2 taken along line III-III.
The curtain hanging fixture comprises a carrier slide part 2 movable on a curtain supporting track 1 and having a bifurcated claw section, which may be provided with rollers and whose lower part contains a wedge 9 and bifur¬ cated section 3, in which the lower ends of lever arms 4 and 5 are closed together by the force exerted by the wedge 9 as a curtain 6, gripped between the arms, is gravi- tationally pulled downward. The bifurcated part 4, 5 com¬ prises two lever arms with grasping claws 7, 8 at the lower ends of the arms and a flexible joint connecting the centers of the lever arms. The tapering surfaces of the wedge 9 are provided with toothing 10, 11, while the upper ends of the lever arms 4, 5 have correspondingly shaped sharp edges 12, 13, capable of mating with the toothing. The carrier slide part 2 is joined to the lever arms A , 5 by means of thin, flexible connecting bands 14, 15. The grasping jaws 7, 8 are flexibly joined at their stems to the lower ends of the lever arms 4 and 5 with such a shaping that results in a tightening effect from their downwardly deflection under the load, i.e., the weight of the curtain. The internal gripping surfaces of the wedge 9 and the upper ends of the lever arms 4, 5 are provided with a lateral step or mold seam displacement, whose shape is achievable by the use of a plastic molding tool as is evident from the illustration presented in Figure 3.
For those skilled in the art, it is evident that the scope of the invention is not only limited to the exemplifying example described above, but instead can be varied within the context? of the claims presented hereinafter. Thus, the curtain hanging fixture construction need not necessarily be restricted to only what is illustrated in the example, but can equally as well employ any conventionally used con¬ struction such as, e.g., bifurcated sections provided with small rollers or even a totally different embodiment for different types of supporting tracks.
