Description

The invention relates to a feeder device, in particular a sheet feeder, with a suction device arranged above a substrate stack, which contains at least one telescopic lifting device, with a suction plate covered under the action of vacuum applied to the suction plate against a restoring force, preferably arranged up and down, with a lifting suction device and has a transport device containing at least one reciprocable drag suction device, which takes over the substrate raised by the separating device.

In the case of a sheet feeder of this type, the suction devices usually arranged in the area of the rear edge of the stack can only remove the uppermost sheet or the like from the stack when the drag suction devices have brought the sheet or the like previously taken over outside the effective range of the suction devices. The result of this is that the retracted part of the lifting suction device must be kept in the retracted state for a certain period of time after the sheet has been handed over. Since the vacuum present on the suction plate of the suction cups must be eliminated when a sheet is transferred, the extendable part of the suction cups must be held in the retracted position against the force acting in the extension direction. So far, mechanical pawls have been used, which can be triggered by means of a trigger device fixed in the machine frame. The disadvantage here is not only the wear of the mechanical pawls, but also the high adjustment effort. In this context, it can be assumed that the suction cups are height-adjustable and that in the case of a height adjustment of the suction cups, the triggering device fixed on the frame must also be adjusted, which means a great deal of effort. The well-known investors therefore prove to be not easy and user-friendly enough.

Proceeding from this, it is the object of the present invention to improve an application device of the type mentioned at the outset with simple and inexpensive means so that the lifting suction devices can be kept in the retracted state even without the use of mechanical pawls.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that, in the case of an application device of the generic type, in the region of overlapping surfaces of the telescopically engaging parts of each vacuum cleaner, on the one hand at least one holding nozzle which can be acted upon and controlled depending on the vacuum cleaner movement and, on the other hand, an associated holding nozzle in the retracted state adjacent contact surface are provided.

These measures ensure that the retractable and extendable part of the suction cups can be held in the retracted position by means of a vacuum applied to the holding nozzle and can only be released when the vacuum applied to the holding nozzle is switched off, regardless of the vacuum applied to the associated suction plate. Since the vacuum applied to the holding nozzle can be opened and closed depending on the movement of the suction cups and regardless of the vacuum applied to the suction cup of the suction cups, it is advantageously possible to hold the suction cups in the retracted position for so long until the suction cups have dragged the previously adopted sheet etc. out of the effective range of the suction cups, without the sheet transfer thereby being impaired and without mechanical pawls being required. Since the holding nozzle and the contact surface are connected to, or integrated into, the respectively assigned suction cups, these elements are automatically also adjusted when the suction cups are adjusted in height, so that any additional adjustment effort is eliminated. Another advantage The measures according to the invention can be seen in the fact that they work practically without wear. In addition, short response times advantageously result. In addition, the holding nozzle and the associated contact surface practically form a mechanical stop, so that an additional stroke limitation can also be omitted.

At least one vacuum cleaner can advantageously be provided with a starting element, by means of which a valve provided with an actuating tappet in the vacuum line leading to the holding nozzle or to the holding nozzles can be actuated. This measure advantageously ensures direct control of the vacuum line by means of a vacuum cleaner and thus results in a very robust and sensible arrangement.

Further advantageous refinements and expedient further training of the superordinate measures are specified in the remaining subclaims.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

Hierbei zeigen:

Here show:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic plan view of a sheet feeder according to the invention and
  • Figure 2 is an enlarged, schematic side view of the suction head of the sheet feeder according to the invention.

The sheet feeder on which FIG. 1 is based contains a stacking table 2 accommodated on lifting chains 1 for receiving a sheet stack 3 and a suction head 4 which overlaps the sheet stack 3 and which is provided with lifting suction devices 5 forming a sheet separating device and drag suction devices 6 forming a sheet transport device. The lifting suction devices 5 and drag suction devices 6 are received on assigned / cross members of the suction head 4. This, in turn, is fastened to a rail 7 running in the machine longitudinal direction and is adjustable along this in accordance with the sheet format. To adjust the suction head height to the height of the respective sheet stack, the rail 7 is arranged adjustable in height.

In the area of the front edge of the stack, pulling rollers 8 are provided, which take over the sheet transported to the front by the suction devices 6 and feed it to a feed table 10 provided with belts 9. The special structure and the mode of operation of a sheet feeder of the type present here are known per se and therefore require no further explanation.

The suction cups 5 each consist, as can be seen from FIG. 2, of a suction tube 12 carrying a suction plate 11, which is attached to a pin 13 of an associated bearing body 14, which is received on a pipe 16 connected to a vacuum line 15 leading to a vacuum source . In the exemplary embodiment shown, the bearing body 14 is provided with a bore penetrating its pin 13 into which the tube 16 is welded. This is the a cylinder space 17 for the interior of the suction tube 12 forming the pin 13, from which the suction nozzles 18 on the plate side, are connected to the vacuum line 15. A spiral compression spring 19 is inserted into the cylinder space 17, under the action of which the suction pipe 12 can be extended downward. To limit this extension stroke, the bearing body 14 is provided with claws 22 projecting downward from a flange 20 delimiting its pin 13 upwards and engaging under a flange 21 provided at the upper end of the suction pipe 12.

The tube 16 of the suction cups 5 is arranged approximately vertically and is mounted so that it can be moved up and down by means of associated bearing blocks 23 attached to the suction head. The tubes 16 of the side-by-side suction cups are, as already mentioned, received on a common cross member 24, on which, in order to accomplish a rising and falling working stroke of the suction cups, a swivel lever 25 engages, which can be actuated by means of an associated control disk 26, which operates in time with the Sheet feeder is driven. For fine adjustment of the height of the suction cups 5, the bearing block 27 of the swivel lever 25 can simply be adjusted, as indicated in FIG. 2 by a double arrow.

The task of the suction cups 5, as can be seen in FIG. 2, is to lift the top sheet 28 from the sheet stack 3, ie to separate it from the sheet stack 3. The sheet lifted from the sheet stack 3 by the lifting suction devices 5 is taken over by the drag suction devices 6 and transported to the front, ie. h brought into the effective range of the drawing rollers 8, as indicated in FIG. 2 with the aid of the bow 29. When handing over a sheet the vacuum present at the suction plate 11 of the suction lifter 5 is switched off to the drag vacuum cleaner 6. However, in order to prevent the suction pipe 12 from being extended downwards under the action of its gravity and the extension spring 19, which could lead to collision with the sheet passed to the suction cups 6, the suction pipes 12 are initially as long as the sheet is handed over held in their retracted position until the sheet 29 taken over by the drag vacs 6 has been brought with its rear edge outside the effective range of the vacuum lifters 6.

For this purpose, the flange 21 of the suction pipe 12 is provided with a widening forming a radially projecting flag 30, the flank of which is turned upward and designed as a flat contact surface 31. The intake pipe-side lug 30 is overlapped by a radially projecting widening of the flange 20 of the bearing body 14 that supports the claws 22. This widening 32 carries a holding nozzle 33 which is connected to a vacuum source by means of a movable vacuum line 34. To form the holding nozzle 33, the widening 32 can simply be provided with a through-bore parallel to the suction axis, the lower outlet cross section of which forms the holding nozzle 33 and can be covered by the contact surface 31. When a bend 28 is received, the suction pipe 12 is brought into the upwardly retracted position as a result of vacuum being applied to the vacuum line 15. The entry movement is limited by the fact that the contact surface 31 of the intake pipe-side lug 30 runs onto the opposite contact surface of the bearing body-side projection 32, which already covers the holding nozzle 33. By applying vacuum to the vacuum line device 34, a suction force is exerted on the contact surface 31 and accordingly on the suction pipe 12 by means of the holding nozzle 33, which overcomes the downward extension forces in the form of gravity and the force of the extension spring 19 even when the vacuum in the vacuum line 15 is switched off.

The holding nozzle 33 and the associated contact surface 31 accordingly form a holding device integrated in the respectively assigned suction device 5 for holding the suction tube 12 in the upwardly retracted position. This integrated holding device is automatically adjusted in the event of a height adjustment of the suction cups 5. Due to its mobility, the vacuum line 34 can easily follow such an adjustment.

The up and down control of the leading to the holding nozzle 33, connected to a vacuum source vacuum line 34 is carried out depending on the movement of the vacuum cleaner 6 and that the holding nozzle 34 is acted upon by vacuum as long as the vacuum cleaner 6 is not yet far enough removed from the suction cups 5 to the front. For this purpose, a control valve 35 is provided in the vacuum line 34, which is opened before the drag suction devices 6 reach their rear end position and which is deactivated when the drag suction devices 6 have again been moved sufficiently far forward. Since the suction cups 6 are driven in the machine cycle, the actuation of the control valve 35 can be removed from each element driven in the machine cycle. In the illustrated embodiment, the Actuation of the control valve 35 directly by a vacuum cleaner 6.

For this purpose, as can also be seen in FIG. 2, it is provided with a thrust plate 36, by means of which a tappet 37 of the control valve 35 can be actuated. The thrust plate 36 is provided with a start-up phase, which results in a soft actuation.

Although a preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention has been explained in more detail above, this is not intended to imply any limitation. As in the case of a sheet feeder, the measures according to the invention also prove to be advantageous in other application devices, for example for applying sheet metal, etc.
