Definitions
- the invention relates to a wet shaver in which a razor blade is firmly embedded in a blade body.
- wet razors are known in which a single razor blade or a double razor blade is embedded in a plastic body, the cutting edges of the two razor blades being offset from one another in the double razor blade.
- a distinction is made between two types, namely a wet razor, in which the razor head is formed in one piece with the handle, and second, the so-called razor blade units, which are formed separately from the handle and can be interchangeably attached to the handle by means of a corresponding mechanism.
- a disadvantage of these wet shavers is that unevenness in the skin can be detected by the razor blades during the shaving process and can thus be the cause of skin injuries (skin irritation) that are sometimes not visible.
- skin injuries skin irritation
- the known wet shaver there is a risk that the user may be injured if the cutting edge of the razor blade is touched unintentionally.
- the object of the invention is to further develop the known wet shaving apparatus of the type mentioned at the outset, in which a razor blade is firmly embedded in a blade body, in such a way that the shaving properties are improved with an increase in safety.
- the invention proposes that the blade body is wrapped with wire together with the razor blade.
- the wire wrapping ensures very good protection against injuries if the cutting edge is touched unintentionally or if a misfortune happens to the user during shaving, which would otherwise lead to a cut injury without the wire wrapping.
- the wire wrap significantly improves the shaving properties of the wet shaver.
- the wire prevents the formation of a skin fold, so that skin injuries are avoided even in the invisible area.
- the wire also reduces shaving resistance.
- Such a wire wrap can be used both for wet shavers, the razor head with the razor blade embedded therein is formed in one piece with the handle, as well as for the so-called razor blade units, which can be exchangeably attached to the front end of a handle as separate components with a razor blade embedded in a blade body .
- the wire is preferably a metal wire and can consist of copper, silver or stainless steel.
- the wire can also be a plastic fiber and is in particular a polyamide, polyethylene, polystyrene, vinylidene-vinyl chloride copolymer, acrynitrile copolymer, rubber-elastic polyurethane or polyerephthalic acid ester.
- the wire can be provided with a coating which reduces friction and serves as a lubricant.
- This coating can consist in particular of a water-soluble polymer, in particular polyethylene oxide, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, methyl cellulose or polyvinyl methylene ether.
- the coating can also consist of a water-absorbing but not water-soluble material, for example of polyvinyl alcohol fibers or PUR-polyvinyl interpolymer.

- the water is used to release the water-soluble polymer, while the pressure ensures the necessary abrasion and thus realizes the lubrication.
- the wire preferably has a diameter of less than 0.1 mm.
- the invention proposes the use of wire wrapping for the conventional razor blades. Furthermore, the use of the wire wrap for a wet shaver with a single or double razor blades having a razor head which is arranged at the front end of a handle is proposed according to the invention, wherein a plurality of razor blades are arranged uniformly over its circumference on a common blade carrier rotatable about an axis, the Cutting edges of the razor blades run parallel to this axis and the blade carrier with the Razor blades can be rotated into the shaving position and locked there by means of a rotary knob located on the axis and arranged on the blade carrier, the blade carrier being wrapped with wire together with the razor blades.
- a blade body with an embedded razor blade of the type specified at the outset is no longer assumed, but rather conventional razor blades and a so-called turret razor.
- the turret shaver shown in Fig. 1 consists of a handle 1 and a shaving head 2, which is arranged at the front end of the handle 1.
- an axis of rotation 4 is mounted extending transversely to the longitudinal extent of the handle 1, this axis of rotation 4 projecting freely, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 2.
- the handle 1, the continuation 3 and the axis of rotation 4 can be formed in one piece and consist, for example, of plastic or metal.

- the blade carrier 6 is provided on the inside with a circumferential recess 9 with a square cross section (FIG. 3), as can be seen in FIG. 2.
- This circumferential recess 9 abuts on the end face of the spring 5 of the axis of rotation 4, so that the blade carrier 6 is thereby fixed in the axial direction.
- a rotating device 10 is provided. This consists of a rotary knob 11 outside the blade carrier 6. This rotary knob 11 lies in the axis A or in the extension of the axis of rotation 4.
- the rotary knob 11 is provided with an actuating rod 12 which is penetrated through a bore 13 on the end face of the blade carrier 6 protrudes axially.
- the end of the actuating rod 12 located inside the blade carrier 6 is provided with a stop 14 which has a non-round cross-sectional shape and is square in the exemplary embodiment shown.
- the inner contour of the blade carrier 6 is adapted to this cross-sectional shape of the stop 14, so that the stop 14 is arranged in the blade carrier 6 such that it cannot rotate.
- the rotary knob 11 In the rest position, the rotary knob 11 is in the inserted position (solid line in Fig. 2). If the blade carrier 6 is to be rotated into the next position, the rotary knob 11 is pulled out, which is indicated by the arrow P, the drawn-out position being shown in dashed lines. Due to the non-rotatable arrangement of the stop 14 in the blade carrier 6, the blade carrier 6 can be rotated into the next position of the razor blade 7 by turning the rotary knob 11. When the turning process has ended, the rotary button 11 is pushed in again (from right to left in the drawing).
- Fig. 1 it is indicated that the blade carrier 6 is spirally wrapped by a wire 15, which preferably has a diameter less than 0.1 mm. This wire wrapping serves as protection against injury, the shaving properties of the razor blades 7 being fully retained.
- this wire wrap is not limited to the blade carrier 6 in such turret shavers.
- the wire wrapping is equally applicable to razor blades.
- a single razor blade 7 is shown, which is provided with such a wire wrap.
- the razor blade 7 (or the blade carrier 6) can be provided with recesses, not shown, in which the wire 15 runs and thus protects it from displacement.
- the wire 15 can also be glued, welded or soldered to the razor blade 7.
- Such a razor blade 7 can then either be embedded in a razor blade unit, as is the case with the so-called disposable razors. Instead, the razor blade 7 can also be replaced as a single piece in a corresponding razor head.
- the wire wrapping was described using a so-called turret razor (FIGS. 1 to 4) and a conventional razor blade 7 (FIG. 5).
- the wire wrapping is provided in a wet shaver in which a single or double razor blade is firmly embedded in a plastic blade body.
- the blade body can be integrally formed with the handle and thus forms a so-called disposable wet shaver.
- the disclosure of the present application is not limited to the above and the following statements.
- the disclosure also includes the documents of the European parent application belonging to this divisional application under the application number 87 10 0035.2-2302 and likewise forms the subject of the present application.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a wet shaver in which a razor blade is firmly embedded in a blade body.
Wet razors are known in which a single razor blade or a double razor blade is embedded in a plastic body, the cutting edges of the two razor blades being offset from one another in the double razor blade. A distinction is made between two types, namely a wet razor, in which the razor head is formed in one piece with the handle, and second, the so-called razor blade units, which are formed separately from the handle and can be interchangeably attached to the handle by means of a corresponding mechanism.
A disadvantage of these wet shavers is that unevenness in the skin can be detected by the razor blades during the shaving process and can thus be the cause of skin injuries (skin irritation) that are sometimes not visible. In addition, in the known wet shaver there is a risk that the user may be injured if the cutting edge of the razor blade is touched unintentionally.
Based on this, the object of the invention is to further develop the known wet shaving apparatus of the type mentioned at the outset, in which a razor blade is firmly embedded in a blade body, in such a way that the shaving properties are improved with an increase in safety.
As a technical solution , the invention proposes that the blade body is wrapped with wire together with the razor blade.
The wire wrapping ensures very good protection against injuries if the cutting edge is touched unintentionally or if a misfortune happens to the user during shaving, which would otherwise lead to a cut injury without the wire wrapping. In addition, the wire wrap significantly improves the shaving properties of the wet shaver. The wire prevents the formation of a skin fold, so that skin injuries are avoided even in the invisible area. The wire also reduces shaving resistance. Such a wire wrap can be used both for wet shavers, the razor head with the razor blade embedded therein is formed in one piece with the handle, as well as for the so-called razor blade units, which can be exchangeably attached to the front end of a handle as separate components with a razor blade embedded in a blade body .
The wire is preferably a metal wire and can consist of copper, silver or stainless steel. Instead of the metal wire, the wire can also be a plastic fiber and is in particular a polyamide, polyethylene, polystyrene, vinylidene-vinyl chloride copolymer, acrynitrile copolymer, rubber-elastic polyurethane or polyerephthalic acid ester.
In a further preferred embodiment, the wire can be provided with a coating which reduces friction and serves as a lubricant. This coating can consist in particular of a water-soluble polymer, in particular polyethylene oxide, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, methyl cellulose or polyvinyl methylene ether. Instead of the water-soluble polymer the coating can also consist of a water-absorbing but not water-soluble material, for example of polyvinyl alcohol fibers or PUR-polyvinyl interpolymer. The use of such a lubricant to reduce the friction of the wires ensures that they slide over the skin of the user without resistance during shaving and thus do not impair the shaving process. When using a water-soluble polymer as a lubricant, the adhesion and the cohesion of this water-soluble polymer must be adjusted so that water and pressure must come together for the detachment. The water is used to release the water-soluble polymer, while the pressure ensures the necessary abrasion and thus realizes the lubrication.
The wire preferably has a diameter of less than 0.1 mm.
In order to hold the wire securely in position, it is proposed according to a further development of the invention that recesses are provided in which the wire runs. Lateral displacement is prevented by guiding the wire in the recesses. The wire can also be glued on.
Furthermore, the invention proposes the use of wire wrapping for the conventional razor blades. With these types of use, a blade body with an embedded razor blade of the type specified at the outset is no longer assumed, but rather conventional razor blades and a so-called turret razor.

The turret shaver shown in Fig. 1 consists of a handle 1 and a shaving
On an L-
Die Schneidkanten 8 der Rasierklingen 7 verlaufen parallel zur mittleren Drehachse 4.A blade carrier 6 (in the drawing from the right) is attached to the axis of
An axis A is defined by the axis of
To fix the
Diese Verrastung definiert die Rasierposition des Klingenträgers 6 und damit der Rasierklingen 7.Due to the square cross-sectional shape of the circumferential recess 9, the
In order to be able to rotate the
In the rest position, the
In Fig. 1 it is indicated that the
The use of this wire wrap is not limited to the
The wire wrapping was described using a so-called turret razor (FIGS. 1 to 4) and a conventional razor blade 7 (FIG. 5). In a preferred, but not shown embodiment, the wire wrapping is provided in a wet shaver in which a single or double razor blade is firmly embedded in a plastic blade body. The blade body can be integrally formed with the handle and thus forms a so-called disposable wet shaver. Instead, it is also conceivable to provide the wire wrapping in a so-called razor blade unit, which can be interchangeably arranged at the front end of a handle of a wet shaving apparatus.
