Abstract
A low-voltage circuit breaker has a contact arrangement with pivotable main contact levers (14) and a burn-off contact arrangement (22) pivotable relative to these. The burn-off contact arrangement (22) comprises burn-off contact partial levers (26) which engage between the main contact levers (14) and are connected to them in an articulated manner. Starting from the distance given by this, the burn-off contact partial levers (26) are brought together at their front ends to form a bearing surface for a burn-off contact piece (36) and connected by a rivet (29). When switching off, the burn-off contact pieces (36, 40) are opened with a delay compared to the main contact pieces (10, 12).
Description
The invention relates to a lever-pressure contact arrangement for a low-voltage circuit breaker with a plurality of pairs of fixed and movable main contact pieces connected in parallel in parallel and a pair of fixed and movable burnout contacts, the movable burnout contact piece being fastened to a burnout contact lever which is pivotably arranged relative to the main contact pieces carrying the main contact pieces .
A contact arrangement of this type is known from US-A-4,713,504. Two burn-off contact levers are provided for a total of six main contact levers. The burn-off contact levers are each articulated on the second main contact lever, seen from the outside, in such a way that they extend in the extension of the main contact lever and can be pivoted about a bearing pin. Based on this arrangement, the invention is based on the object of ensuring the best possible transition from switching arcs on the main contacts to the burn-off contacts. For this purpose, it is already known to use arc guide pieces (DE-A-35 39 673, US-A-3 784 775) or to use an arc quenching chamber with quenching plates so wide that their legs formed by cutouts extend over the entire width of the main contact arrangement (DE-A-22 18 420).
According to the invention, the stated object is achieved in that the burn-off contact lever consists of burn-off contact partial levers articulated between the main contact levers, which at their ends opposite the hinge axis form a surface provided for the movable burn-off contact piece are put together. In this way, starting from the immediate vicinity of the main contact pieces, there is a conduit path along which the arcs can migrate until they unite at the connection point of the arcing contact partial levers on the arcing contact piece to form a single arc, which pass into the arcing chamber in the intended manner and can be deleted there.
The articulated connection between the main contact levers and the burn-off contact partial levers can be formed in a simple manner by a hinge pin passing through the front ends of the main contact levers. In a similarly simple manner, the joining together of the front ends of the arcing contact partial levers can be achieved by a rivet passing through these ends.
In the case of a contact arrangement with main contact levers arranged in pairs, it proves sufficient and sensible to insert a burn-off contact partial lever between the main contact levers of a pair of main contact levers.
For the rapid relief of the main contact pieces from the switching arcs, it is essential that an unobstructed path to the burn-off contact pieces is provided. This can be helped by the fact that the burn-off contact partial levers have a continuous contour extending from the front edge of the main contact lever and up to its front edge to form guide rails for switching arcs to be taken over from the main contact pieces.
The invention is explained below with reference to the embodiment shown in the figures.
Die Figur 1 zeigt einen Niederspannungs-Leistungsschalter mit Isolierstoffgehäuse im Schnitt.Figure 1 shows a low-voltage circuit breaker with insulating housing in section.
In der Figur 2 ist in einer Seitenansicht eine Kontaktanordnung des Leistungsschalters gemäß der Figur 1 gezeigt.FIG. 2 shows a side view of a contact arrangement of the circuit breaker according to FIG. 1.
Die Figuren 3 und 4 zeigen in der Draufsicht und in einer Seitenansicht Abbrennkontakt-Teilhebel der Kontaktanordnung gemäß der Figur 2.FIGS. 3 and 4 show a top view and a side view of the burn-off contact partial lever of the contact arrangement according to FIG. 2.
Die Figur 5 zeigt eine Draufsicht auf eine Kontaktanordnung entsprechend der Figur 2 mit fünf Paaren von Hauptkontakthebeln.FIG. 5 shows a top view of a contact arrangement corresponding to FIG. 2 with five pairs of main contact levers.
Depending on the strength and duration of an arc occurring between the
In order to reduce the duration of arcing on the current-carrying contacts, it is important to move the arcs away from the contact pieces. This can be done by causing the arcs generated on the contact pieces to transfer to a less expensive material with higher resistance. The
Essentially, the arcing
When the described contact arrangement is set in motion, the mass of the arcing
