Abstract

Music therapy has hitherto always acted on the individual by way of the auditory organs. The "consciousness" filter is therefore at all times interconnected. <??>In order to achieve an intensive sound therapy of the body, the invention proposes a lounger underneath which there are arranged electroacoustic transducers for frequencies lying below the audibility limit of the human auditory organ, which electroacoustic transducers treat the patient with sound directly via the tissue. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a three-part bed for carrying out therapeutic measures, in particular for bringing about and supporting deep relaxation, consisting of three lying surfaces, preferably pivotably connected to one another, one first lying surface to support the back and head, a second to support the thighs and buttocks and a third surface to support the lower legs.

Such couches are known. Due to the swiveling of the lying surfaces to each other, they allow a relaxed lying position to be set, as well as a comfortable sitting position. However, this comfortable lying position to be brought about by such a bed does not automatically lead to relaxation of the body. The object of the invention is to provide a bed of this type which serves to implement the latest knowledge from the scientific fields of medicine and psychology in the field of relaxation or deep relaxation. This is achieved in a manner according to the invention in that electroacoustic transducers are arranged below the lying plane at the center line of the first and second lying surfaces for converting low frequencies into correspondingly low-frequency airborne sound vibrations, which radiate upwards through openings in the lying surfaces.

At the end of the 19th century, in natural science psychology, the effect and healing power of music on a verifiable science foundation. Music was found to play a crucial role in changing pulse rate, blood pressure, blood flow, muscle tension, sweat secretion and oxygen consumption. Using appropriate music, psychonerval regulatory disorders could be avoided or eliminated; for functional heart complaints, music took on the role of sedatives, stimulants and analgesics. Modern music therapies actually bring a measurable revitalizing state of relaxation and thus the positive changes in the parameters mentioned above.

These music therapies all affect people and their brains through the hearing organs. This interposed "brain" filter often causes such music therapy to fail because consciousness builds up a high inhibition threshold. In fact, modern people who want to control and control all emotions through the logical mind, the ratio, have mostly lost the opportunity to relax completely or to bring about deep relaxation. This results in tension, irritation and of course physical disorders.

The invention makes use of the medical and psychological knowledge that the first sense with which people are endowed is the sense of touch, that people react extraordinarily and repeatedly to touch stimuli. So a way had to be found
  • 1. to find or compose a deep relaxation music and
  • 2. to unite this music with the sense of touch or touch of the human being.

This has been achieved by the above-mentioned couch, which not only feeds the music suitable for therapy to the person via the hearing organ, but also acts directly as a sound wave on the body surface and thus on the entire body. This avoids the often disturbing, inhibiting filters of ear and consciousness. More precisely, the left brain hemisphere, the logical, analytical thinking that blocks modern man's access to relaxation, is turned off. The body reacts to the touch stimulance of music directly with a significant decrease in muscle tension, with a clear change in brain activity, with general relaxation and regeneration that is perceived as beneficial.

If the way to enable therapy music to go directly to the patient without the filter of consciousness has already been shown, the music suitable for this therapy still had to be found. Music with about 60 beats per minute was positive. However, this knowledge has long been part of the established knowledge in the field of music therapy. What is new, however, and this is made possible in the bed according to the invention, is that the clock starts of this music are fed to an amplifier and are input there as signals into the electroacoustic transducers attached to the bed at a frequency below the audible frequency. As a result, the body or the tissue of the body is sonicated at precisely this clock frequency, without any awareness of the human being, and this also brings about the favorable relaxation position of the body. It is interesting in this context that measurements of the brain waves during deep relaxation of the human being actually lie in this frequency range which is inaudible to humans. It is equally interesting, however, that tact derives from tactus, this Latin word characterizing touching or feeling.

Investigations with the couch according to the invention have shown that three areas of the human body which are to be correctly described have an intensive effect on this sound system. On the one hand there is the head / neck area, on the other hand the chest area and finally the lower abdomen area, for example from the belt to the thighs. The arrangement of the electroacoustic transducers, which are arranged precisely in these areas, was also made accordingly. In addition, according to the invention, the openings of the bed serving as sound outlet openings are to be continuous and the electroacoustic transducers are mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable. This makes it possible to adapt the electroacoustic transducers to people of different sizes or to these three areas mentioned above.

In order to convey the therapy music to the patient via the ear, broadband loudspeakers are expediently attached to the head part on both sides. Of course, these speakers can also be set up elsewhere.

With the device according to the invention it is achieved for the first time that the patients can be treated therapeutically with music without the risk of interference from the filter of the hearing organ or of the consciousness.

  • Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht und
  • Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht.
An exemplary embodiment of the bed according to the invention is shown schematically in the drawing, namely:
  • Fig. 1 is a side view and
  • Fig. 2 is a plan view.

A housing (1) padded on the upper side represents the middle part of the bed to be set up on legs (2). This middle part is followed by a first bed surface (3) for the patient's head and back and a third bed surface (4) for the lower leg . The lying surfaces (3 and 4) are pivotally connected to the housing (1) or the central part of the bed by means of axes (5, 6). On the top of the housing (1) there are also beads (7, 8) on the side which prevent the patient's arms from falling down. Openings (10) are provided in the lying surfaces (3, 9), under which electroacoustic transducers (11, 12, 13) are arranged to be longitudinally displaceable. Further openings (14, 15) are located on the side at the end of the lying surface (3). Broadband loudspeakers are arranged under these openings.

To apply the therapy, the patient lies on the couch so that the thighs and buttocks rest on the middle part (9), the back and the Head are on the lying surface (3). Then the electroacoustic transducers (11, 12 and 13) are brought into the correct position by longitudinal displacement, so that they can insonify the lower abdominal cavity, the chest and the head. Then the electrical devices, which are located in the housing (1), are adjusted by means of the setting members (16) so that audible music sounds from the broadband loudspeakers, the clock starts of which are fed to a signal generator, which then supplies the electroacoustic transducers with an inaudible signal frequency. The length of the signal pulses is adjustable and is between approximately 0.1 and 2 seconds. As a result, the person lying on the couch hears the music from the broadband loudspeakers in their audible range; at the same time, the tissue of the body is still sonicated by the electroacoustic transducers in the inaudible area, in time with this piece of music.
