According to the invention, an easy-to-use hearing aid is created, the actuating element for changing the acoustic amplification (volume control) also taking over the function of one or more setting elements, or further setting functions being transferable to the volume control using a multifunction switch. In this way, the volume control and the mode switch can be used to control further hearing aid functions without additional actuating elements.
In an advantageous embodiment, an operating mode switch of the hearing device according to the invention has two or more switching positions via which the hearing device wearer selects the signal processing of his hearing device. Furthermore, e.g. the volume control of the hearing aid is determined accordingly for two or more different functions. In a first normal position M of the operating mode switch, the volume control, as is known per se, is used to adjust the acoustic amplification. In a second position S for the language of the operating mode switch, e.g. the contrast enhancement of the hearing aid is adjustable. Known hearing aids are equipped with a multifunction switch, the switching element 1 of which is attached to the housing 2 of the hearing aid in accordance with FIG. 1 in such a way that it is accessible for manual actuation. The known multi-function switch has an O position in which the hearing aid is switched off. Furthermore, the switch has two operating positions H and S, the switch serving in the normal operating position M as in the position S for setting the noise suppression for acoustic amplification (as a volume control).
Solche Bauteile sind in der Regel ein Mikrofon 3, Verstärker 4, eine Stromquelle, insbesondere Batterie 5 und ein Hörer 6 sowie ein Steiler zur Anpassung der Lautstärke 7.Components for amplifying and adapting the sound signals to the type and degree of damage to the hearing of a hearing impaired person are housed in the housing of a hearing aid. Such components are generally a microphone 3, amplifier 4, a power source, in particular battery 5 and a receiver 6, and a steepener for adjusting the volume 7.
According to this exemplary embodiment (FIG. 3), the hearing aid 9 according to the invention has, in addition to the volume control 7, a
The following explains what changes for the user due to a function transfer to the volume control on the hearing aid.
As with a hearing aid with noise suppression, the
The influence of the volume controls (VC) is explained below with reference to FIG. The effect of the reinforcement plate, eg volume control 7, in the operating position M of the switch 10 (arrow M) or in the operating position S of the switch 10 (arrow S) results from the schematic illustration in FIG. 4. The horizontal in the direction of the arrow VC shows from left to right the range of rotation of the potentiometer of the actuator 7 with increasing effect to the right. The vertical increase in the direction of the arrow M (for the M position of the switch 10) shows the increase in acoustic amplification. At maximum amplification,
Therefore, a further adaptation for contrast enhancement is provided in the hearing aid according to the invention. In the vertical downward direction, in the direction of the arrow S (for the S position of the switch 10), from left to right, according to the travel of the potentiometer in the direction of the arrow VC, the increase in contrast enhancement is plotted when the gain adjuster VC is turned on, the task of Gain controller of the steeper 7 takes over. At the maximum setting, indicated by point 12 in the figure, the hearing aid wearer might find it a little puzzled: "Now I understand everything, but the voice of the conversation partner seems to me to be different." However, this change has lower priority than the improved language understanding.
