Abstract

In an aeration mat for a whirlpool bath, a mat-like supporting body is provided which forms a support surface for the body of the person to be treated, formed for example by sectional rods and support elements (7). Protruding supporting projections (10) are provided on this support surface or on the support elements (7), and are designed in the manner of resilient plates and inserted into apertures (19) in the support surface, so that they form an advantageous bearing surface for the body of the person with a relatively flat spring characteristic. All the supporting projections (10) of a support element (7) can in a simple manner be designed integrally with one another in that they are jointly moulded directly onto the support element (7) in the form of plastics injection mouldings and are connected to one another on the underside of the support element via a ribbon-shaped connecting section (14). Edge-protection strips (25) can also be moulded on in a similar manner. <IMAGE>
