Description

The invention relates to a circulation rack according to the preamble of claim 1.

Circulating racks of the aforementioned type, which are also referred to as paternoster cabinets or paternoster conveyors, generally only have one loading and unloading station arranged on the front of their housing and closable by at least one sliding door. Circulation racks, which likewise have a loading and unloading opening on their rear side, have become known only occasionally, in particular for use in large warehouses by industrial companies. The arrangement of loading and unloading openings on the front and rear of the housing is supported not only by the basic structure of a circulating rack, but also by the good accessibility of the carriers of the circulating rack that are transferred into the area of the loading and unloading opening over their entire width.

Investigations in connection with the use of known circulation racks as tool storage in modern production systems have shown that the tool flow from the tool storage to the machine tool is often unsatisfactory. For example, multiple changes of direction and comparatively long transmission paths cannot be avoided if the circulation rack is next to the machine tool to be equipped with tools.

The possibility of improved integration into a production flow is provided by a storage device known from DE 29 44 266 A1, which is designed as a recirculating conveyor, the housing of which is provided with a type of cantilever into which a part of the conveyor run having vertical and horizontal sections protrudes. The delivery arm slips over an assembly line and is open on the underside. Through the open bottom, carriers or the like can be used to hold workpieces. lower into the area of a belt conveyor and lift again. The effort required for driving and guiding the carriers of the known storage device is, owing to the more complicated movement path of the carriers, significantly higher than in the case of circulation racks constructed in the manner of a paternoster.

The invention has for its object to provide a circulation rack with paternoster-like rotating carriers, which is particularly suitable for use as a tool store in manufacturing companies and which, when arranged next to a machine tool, enables the realization of the shortest transmission paths between the circulation rack and the machine tool. This object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

The circulation rack according to the invention has the advantage that the additional loading and unloading opening of a housing enables a lateral coupling of stations to be supplied with goods from the circulation rack, these stations not necessarily being formed by machine tools, but also, for example, by workplaces and not as loads only tools, but also workpieces.

In Fig. 1, 1 generally denotes a folding machine and 2 generally denotes a circulation rack.

The folding machine 1 has a table 3 for receiving lower tools 4 and an up and down movable punch 5 for receiving upper tools 6, table 3 and punch 5 being provided with receptacles 7, 8 for exchangeable tools corresponding to the different workpieces.

The circulating rack 2 serves as a tool storage for the folding machine 1. The front wall 9 of its housing 10 has, as is generally customary, a loading and unloading opening 11 which extends over almost the entire width of the housing and can be closed by a sliding door 9A which can be moved up and down. The housing 10 is also in the region of its side wall 12, in the immediate vicinity of the loading and unloading opening 11 and at the same height as this, with an additional loading and closing device which can be closed by a securing flap 13 Provide discharge opening 14. The safety flap 13 prevents circulation of the carrier 15 of the circulation rack 2 in the open state shown in the drawing, while in the closed state it allows circulation by acting on a limit switch 16, provided that this is not prevented by further safety devices, including a light barrier 17 heard.

Details of the structure of the supports 15 are shown in FIGS. 2 to 5. Each support 15 has a base 18, two side walls 19, 20 and a rear wall 21, the width of the side walls 19 being smaller by an amount than the depth of the bases 18 which is at least equal to the width of the additional loading and unloading opening 14.

On the bottom 18 of the carrier 15, a receiving carriage 22 is slidably supported, which is equipped with a box profile rail 23 for receiving the lower tools 4. In order to ensure easy movement of the receiving carriage 22, it is designed as a roller container mounted on ball rollers 25 guided in U-shaped rails 24.

In the right part of FIG. 3 and in FIG. 4, the goods receiving carriage 22 is shown in its loading and unloading position, while the left part of FIG. 3 shows the storage position of the goods receiving carriage 22. To lock the Gutaufnahmeschlitten 22 in the a locking element 26 is used, the tip of which is pressed under the action of a spring 27 into locking holes 28 of a locking bar 29. The locking element 26 can be unlocked by pivoting a lever 30.

To hold the upper tools 6 is a holding rail 32 held by arms 31 of a supporting frame, at whose end facing the additional loading and unloading opening 14 a lock 33 is arranged, which is held in its locked position by a leaf spring 34, in which one on the leaf spring 34 attached locking pin 35 engages in a locking hole 36 of a slide 37 connected to the lock 33. By pivoting the leaf spring 34, the locking pin 35 can be removed from the locking hole 36 and the lock 33 can then be transferred into its release position, in which the locking pin 35 can snap into a second locking hole 38 of the slide 37. 39 is an end stop which prevents the slide 37 from being pulled out of its guide 40.

At the lower end of the slide 37 connected to the lock 33, an aperture 41 is arranged, which in the locked position of the lock 33 interrupts the light beam from the light barrier 17 and, in the locked position, creates one of the prerequisites for a circular movement of the carrier 15.

Characterized in that the receiving carriage 22 can be transferred from its position shown on the right in FIG. 3 to its position shown on the left in the same figure is, a balanced load distribution of the goods stored on the carriers 15 can be achieved, for example, by avoiding that the same torque is exerted on the carrier 15 by goods suspended from the holding rail 32 and mounted on the goods receiving sled 22.

In practice, a set of lower and upper tools 4, 6 required for producing a specific workpiece in a production program is stored on a carrier 15. In order to be able to transfer the required, regularly heavy tools in the fastest and shortest way from the folding machine 1 into the circulation rack 2 or vice versa, good transfer bridges 42 and 43 can be inserted between the folding machine 1 and the circulation rack 2, the longitudinal axes of which are aligned with the longitudinal axes of the aligned in the loading and unloading position of the receiving carriage 22 and the holding rail 32 and with the longitudinal axes of the receptacles 7 and 8. The tool change can therefore be accomplished by simply moving the tools without changing the direction.
