Gemäss Fig.1 weist das Treibspiegelgeschoss einen Geschosskörper 10, einen Treibspiegelheckteil 11 und einen Treibspiegelmantel 12 auf. Auf dem Geschosskörper 10 ist eine ballistische Haube 13 befestigt. Vorzugsweise wird für die Herstellung des Geschosskörpers 10 eine Hartmetallegierung, vorzugsweise eine Wolframlegierung, verwendet, die für solche Geschosse wohl bekannt ist. Der Treibspiegelheckteil 11 wird vorzugsweise aus Leichtmetall hergestellt und der Treibspiegelmantel 12 aus Kunststoff. Der Treibspiegelmantel 12 besteht üblicherweise aus drei Segmenten, die miteinander mit Hilfe von geeigneten Sollbruchstellen 14 verbunden sind. Wie insbesondere aus Fig.3 ersichtlich ist, sind die sechs Zungen 18 durch sechs Schlitze 30 voneiander getrennt. Dank der in Fig.2 dargestellten Nut 29 und dank der Schlitze 30 zwischen den Zungen 18, können sich, nachdem das Treibspiegelgeschoss das Waffenrohr verlassen hat, die sechs Zungen 18 unter der Wirkung der durch den Drall erzeugten Fliehkraft, so weit nach aussen biegen, dass sie abbrechen und somit den Geschosskörper 10 nicht mehr mit ihren Nocken 25 in den Umfangsnuten 17 festhalten.
