Abstract
Zur Verbesserung der Zündeigenschaften einer Metall halogenidhochdruckentladungslampe (11) ist diese im Übergangsbereich vom Entladungsgefäß (12) zur Ein schmelzung (13) mit einer Heizvorrichtungung (18) versehen, die mittels eines gut haftenden Isolators (20) an der Lampe (11) befestigt ist. Hierfür ist ein nicht ausdampfender Kitt oder Siliziumdioxid besonders geeignet. Die Heizvorrichtung (18) besteht aus einem Heizdraht, der in einer ersten Ausführungsform die Einschmelzung (13) mit drei bis sechs Windungen umgibt. In einer anderen Ausführungsform ist der Heizdraht in einer einer Lochkeramik aus Aluminiumoxid die an beiden Seiten der Einschmelzung mit thermisch gutem Kontakt anliegt, mehrmals hin- und hergeführt. Die Heizvorrichtung (18) weist eine elektrische Leistung von maximal 20 W auf, ist bei ausgeschalteter Lampe (11) aktiviert und wird mit einer von der Betriebsspannung der Lampe (11) abweichenden eigenen Spannungsquelle betrieben.
