Description

The invention relates to a ski binding according to the preamble of claim 1.

A ski binding of this type is described in EP-A2 0 183 000. It has proven itself in practice, but it has the disadvantage that it does not open when the skier falls head-on.

FR-A 2 517 549). In the case of a ski binding for a cross-country ski, the suggestion has already been made to open the binding in the event of a frontal fall using a special mechanism which is actuated by an optionally adjustable stop of the ski boot (see FR-A 2 517 549). However, this design has the disadvantage that the opening only takes place when the ski boot is perpendicular to the top of the ski, ie the skier is already lying in the snow.

A 2 517 549.Furthermore, a ski binding for a cross-country ski has been proposed (cf. DE-C1 3 429 923), in which the ski boot has a sole extension, in the side cheeks of which there are hemispherical pins. During cross-country skiing, these pins are held by two holders, which are under the influence of compression springs and can be pivoted in a plane parallel to the top of the ski. In the event of a frontal fall, however, the two holders are pivoted against the force of the compression springs and the ski boot is released. This ski binding is therefore further removed from the subject matter of the invention than the prior art already taken into account according to the last-mentioned FR-A 2 517 549.

The object of the invention is to eliminate this disadvantage and to equip the ski binding according to the prior art with a safety device which brings about an opening of the binding when the angle of the swiveling movement of the ski shoe which occurs during normal cross-country skiing is already slightly exceeded.

Starting from a ski binding of the type mentioned, this object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. Since the size of the stop is left to the designer, the designer has the option of determining the swivel angle traveled by the ski boot at which the binding should begin to be released. In addition, these features have the advantage that the stop is accommodated inside the binding and thereby is protected against pollution and icing.

The subject matter of claim 2, which in its preamble starts from the same genus as claim 1, enables a more robust design of the stops and the counter-stops, the risk of kinking the counter-stops being excluded.

In the drawing, for example, embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown purely schematically. 1 shows a longitudinal central section through a first embodiment in the sliding phase, in FIG. 2 in the push-off phase, in FIG. 3 in the event of a frontal fall and in FIG. 4 after the ski boot has been released. Fig. FIG. 5 is a side view of a second embodiment during the sliding phase and FIG. 6 is a side view at the beginning of a frontal fall.

It has a base plate 2 fastened to the ski, which has a projection 2a which is U-shaped in plan view in the region of its front end. In this approach 2a, a transverse axis 3 is mounted, on which both a swivel part 4 and a bracket 5 are mounted. The bracket 5 has a plate 5a and two side guides 5b for an extension of the sole of the ski boot, which is overlapped by the two guides in the region of their side surfaces. In addition, the bracket 5 is provided with a web 5c, which has a locking groove 5d. Furthermore, there is a leg spring 6 on the transverse axis 3, which strives to pivot the holding bracket 5 counterclockwise upwards.

The pivot part 4, which is loaded by a rubber spring 13, is designed approximately as an angle lever. He carries on his lever arm 4a directed towards the end of the ski an upward extension 7 which is intended to engage in a corresponding hole in the sole extension of the ski boot. In the other lever arm 4b an axis 8 is fastened, on which a two-armed lever 9 is mounted. One arm 9a of the lever 9 carries a locking lug, whereas the other arm 9b has a recess 10 for engaging the tip of a ski pole. A counter stop 2b is assigned to the inside of the arm 9a, which protrudes from the attachment 2a of the base plate 2 towards the end of the ski. The lever 9 is under the influence of a spring 12 which tends to pivot it clockwise.

In the sliding phase of the ski binding 1, all components assume the position shown in FIG. 1 by the arm 98 engaging with its end in the locking groove 5d. Schwen: deil 4 and bracket 5 are thus ..irrealed against each other and form a unit.

Fig. 3). During the push-off phase (see FIG. 2), the unit formed by the swivel part 4 and the holding bracket 5 pivots counterclockwise. If, however, a frontal fall of the skier takes place during cross-country skiing, the counterstop 2b of the base plate 2 presses the arm 9a of the lever 9 out of the locking groove 5d of the web 5c of the holding bracket, as a result of which the connection between the holding bracket 5 and the pivoting part 4 is interrupted (cf. 3). The ski boot can therefore leave the binding, and the arm 9a of the lever 9 slides down over the web 5d of the holding bracket 5 under the influence of the spring 12, the lever 9 rotating in a clockwise direction.

The embodiment of a ski binding 1 'shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is very similar to that discussed first. It differs from this only in that the stop on the two-armed lever 9 'is formed by two lugs 9'c, which are arranged in the region of the side walls of the lever 9' and radially downward from the axis 8 'and towards the ski tip run away. These two lugs 9'c are assigned two upward-facing counter-stops 2'b, the two stop surfaces of which run approximately perpendicular to the top of the ski.

During normal cross-country skiing, such as the unit formed by the swivel part 4 'and the holding bracket 5', oscillates back and forth between the layers according to FIGS. 5 and 6. If, however, a skier falls from the front while the skier is driving, the lugs 9'c of the lever 9 'come to rest against the counter-stops 2'b of the base plate 2', while the unit consisting of the swivel part 4 'and the retaining bracket 5' continues to oppose one another pivoted clockwise. As a result, however, the arm 9'a of the lever 9 'is lifted out of the locking groove 5'd, which results in the connection between the holding bracket 5' and the pivoting part 4 'being released. The ski boot can therefore also leave binding 1 'here.

The invention is not tied to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing and described above. Rather, it would be conceivable to arrange the counter-stop pivoting the lever at a different location than shown.
