Abstract

In a joint including a plurality of bars linked thereby, the ends of the bars are inserted through apertures in a metal casing which is filled with a hardening grout. The ends of the bars received in the casing have necked-down portions having two tapered members therein which are oriented with their tapering sections facing in opposition and which are pretensioned toward each other by a tensioning member to contact the walls of the necked down portion in flatwise abutting engagement, in opposite sections of the necked down portion.

Description

The invention relates to a knot connection for rod structures with more than two bars connected in a knot, which are designed as tubes and protrude through openings in a metal box that can be filled with a hardening sealing compound and end in the metal box with a constricting, constricted end section.

With such node connections, as z. B. have become known from GB-A-27l 709, the constricted end portion of each rod or tube is a weak point. A correspondingly large dimensioning of the rods is necessary so that they can absorb high tensile forces or bending moments. Larger tensile forces acting on the rods can deform the end section of the rod and the form fit with the sealing compound is lost. The same problem basically also exists with the node connection, as is known from AT-A 339 094.

The invention has for its object to provide a node connection for rod structures, in particular of steel structures, which has a higher strength. The load-bearing capacity, in particular due to tensile forces, should not be less in the critical, constricted end section than in the case of an un weakened pipe cross section and deformations of the end section and a loosening of the positive connection with the casting compound should be excluded.

This object is achieved with a knot connection of the type mentioned in that in the constricted end section of the rod two oppositely conical insertion parts are each arranged on opposite sides of the constriction under pretension and that the constriction is adapted to the shape of the insertion parts. External forces acting on the can never deform this way from the end of the rod, which is supported from the inside, so that an absolutely secure positive connection with the sealing compound is achieved. The insertion parts represent the counter-tool remaining in the end sections of the rods when producing the constriction by means of one or more pressing tools; the constriction is accordingly adapted to the shape of the insert parts.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention it is provided that the slide-in parts can be clamped to one another by a tension member which is variable in length in the tube axis. The slight springback of the deformed tube wall that occurs when the constriction is produced causes a gap between the insertion parts and the inside of the constricted tube wall. By reducing the length of the tension member connecting the two insertion parts in the tube axis, e.g. B. by tightening the serving as such tension member screw or more such screws, this gap can be closed and the positive connection with the potting compound can be made even more secure. A part of the rod force is also absorbed by the tension member, thereby relieving the pipe cross-section in the important area of the end section.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the node connection shown in the drawing, for example. 1 shows the node connection in view and partly in section along the axis of one of the rods connected to form a node, and FIGS. 2 to 4 show cross sections through various embodiments of a detail of the node connection along line II-II of FIG. 1.

A node connection comprises a metal box 1 with a convex central part approximately in the form of a flattened ball. From the middle section there are openings 2 of the metal box 1 from step-like tapered projections 3.

In the right - uncut - half of FIG. 1, an opening 2 for a rod 4 in the form of a square tube and a further opening 2 for a rod 4 in the form of a round tube are shown. An advantage of the knot connection according to the invention is that the rods 4 do not need to have the same cross section. Diagonal bars can e.g. B. weaker than belt rods.

In the left half of FIG. 1, two rods 4 are drawn to form the node, the axis of which lies in the plane of the drawing. The filling of the metal box 1 is shown on the upper part of the left half of FIG. This filling is not shown in the lower part of the left half of FIG. 1 and the end section of the rod 4 arranged there is not shown in section.

It can be seen that the bars 4 in the metal box 1 end with a form-fitting end section which is constricted. From the sectional representations of constricted end sections of rods 4 in FIGS. 2 to 4 it can be seen that the constriction is formed with a folding of the tube wall without weakening or changing its cross-sectional area.

In each constricted end section of the rods 4, two oppositely conical insertion parts 5, 6 are arranged on opposite sides of the constriction. The constriction is adapted to the shape of the insertion parts 5, 6. The two insertion parts 5, 6 are longitudinally displaceably clamped together by a tension member 7 located in the tube axis in the form of a high-strength screw or several such screws (FIG. 4) within the end section of the rod 4, so that they contact the inner wall of the tube on opposite sides of the constriction.

At the top of the metal box 1, a filling opening 8 is provided for filling with the hardening casting compound.
