Document FR-A-1 532 716 describes an electrical insulating tape comprising a layer of mica bonded by one of its sides to a support such as a woven, knitted or felted fabric or a polymer film using a dimethylpolysiloxane resin added with a curing catalyst. The other side of the mica layer can also be provided with a layer of the same resin with the addition of catalyst, then the whole is hardened by heating.

Document FR-A-1 333 417 describes a strip of vulcanized mica on a support formed by a glass cloth using a silicone rubber added with a catalyst.

Document FR-A-2 188 258 describes the bonding of a mica paper to a support formed of glass strands using an adhesive formed by a mixture of dimethylpolysiloxane resin with silanol end groups and a silicone resin , then bonding to the mica paper thus reinforced with a polyamide film using the same adhesive, the curing of the adhesive being obtained by passage through an oven.

All these documents relate to tapes, therefore none of the faces has any adhesive property, in the form of a coating whose adhesive power can be maintained for a very long period.

The object of the present invention is to provide an adhesive tape on the side of the mica paper, the adhesive power of which is preserved for a very long period, which can be affixed at any time on very diverse substrates, and which is moreover sensitive to pressure, so that a simple contact without pressure does not cause sticking, but which ensures an energetic sticking as soon as a pressure is exerted between the tape and the surface on which we must paste.

The insulating micaceous tape according to the invention is characterized in that its adhesive layer comprises an adhesive pressure-sensitive coating, formed by a curable polysiloxane resin devoid of curing catalyst, and capable of retaining its adhesiveness for a very long period.

EXEMPLE 1EXAMPLE 1

A sheet of phlogopite mica paper at l2Og / m² is laminated with a binder of methyl-polysiloxane synthetic resin added with 2% by weight of cobalt naphthenate, as hardening catalyst, on a glass fabric of grammage 33g / m², the paper mica being coated with the same synthetic resin, but devoid of hardening additive.

The glass fabric can be replaced by a chain formed from 5 to 12 strands per cm, made of glass thread of 5.5 to 68 tex, of diameter 5 to 9 microns, arranged parallel in the direction of the unwinding of the ribbon on a synthetic polymer film, especially polyester.

EXEMPLE 2EXAMPLE 2

A sheet of phlogopite mica paper at 80 g / m² is laminated with a binder of methyl polysiloxane resin, added with 2% by weight of cobalt naphthenate hardener, on a polyester film, in particular of polyethylene terephthalate glycol, 12 microns thick, the mica paper being coated with the same synthetic resin without hardener additive.

EXEMPLE 3EXAMPLE 3

A 75g / m² sheet of muscovite mica paper is laminated with a binder of methyl-polysiloxane resin, added with 2% by weight of cobalt naphthenate, between two polyester films 12 microns thick, one of these two films, intended to be placed on the side of the sheath of the cable to be protected, being coated with the same methylpolysiloxane resin without hardening additive.

As already indicated above, the adhesive may be, instead of a silicone resin, a glass fabric, a chain of strands of glass son or a film, a fabric or a felt of synthetic polymer, of the same kind as the reinforcing sheet mentioned above, and provided on both sides with an adhesive resin, with the addition of a catalyst on the side of the micaceous paper sheet.

Although the electrical insulating and fire-retardant adhesive micaceous tape is particularly suitable for the insulation of electric or fiber optic conductors, it is also applicable to the insulation of other surfaces which it is desired to protect against fire in electrical engineering. , especially in transformers.
