Abstract

The press has a main linkage (20) which carries an upper ram (24) and to which a mechanical main drive (50) imparts working and return strokes along a main press axis (A). A draw-off linkage (30) carrying a die (46) undergoes movements, derived from the working stroke of the main linkage via a first auxiliary drive (64), out of a filling position into a press position of the die. A second auxiliary drive (86) ensures movements of the draw-off linkage into an end position and back into the filling position. The two auxiliary drives each have a fluid-actuated piston/cylinder unit with at least one cylinder part (66, 68; 92, 94) which is adjustable in the direction of the main press axis and which limits the stroke of the associated piston (76; 88) and the cylinder space adjacent to this. <IMAGE>
